Motorola Droid 2 :: "installing Motorola Driver Installation 4.6.0" Over And Over
Jun 14, 2011
Every time I plug my droid 2 global into the multimedia docking station, it must re-install the software. This is time consuming and annoying."installing Motorola Driver Installation 4.6.0" over and over and over. Is there a more recent driver installation version that has fixed this ridiculous bug?
Im trying to create and application on for my Droid 3 but when i connect the phone to my computer it starts to install the driver but then says driver installation failed. Also, when i turn on debugging for my Droid it doesnt show up on my phone. Im sure this is because of the failed installation.
After installing any new app that has a widget it does not appear in the App Drawer with the other widgets. I have to reboot my MAXX for the widget to show up. Couple of the apps this is happening with is Jango and The Weather Channel. This only started happening after upgrading to ICS.
I am hanging on the phone waiting for a Moto Level 2, but in the mean time, am going to bang out this post about how awful my first day with ICS has been.I mentioned in a previous post that the install got hung at "starting applications" and Veriizon tech suppor thad me pull the SD and SIM card. The phone rebooted, but it has not been working properly
After installation of the OTA GB update my camcorder app freezes about 2 seconds after opening. It worked a couple times when I first tried it after GB, but now it freezes everytime I open it. I've tried restarting my phone a few times with no luck.
It seems that on past Droids, one could click-and-hold on an MP3 (found in memory) and elect to make it a ring tone -- even an alarm or notification. This seems to be missing on the current phone.
I'm having trouble installing a custum ringtone. I've downloaded it as an MP3 to the My Music folder and also copied it to a new folder that I've called "music" on my external memory card. So I'm able to play the tune from both locations but I can't find any menu option that allows me to set it as the ringtone. When I hold down the song in My Music a menu comes up that gives a number of options starting with Play and ending with Copy to DLNA server and Delete. The Mortorla phone tech person said that between the last two on his phone was a Set as ringtone option but it does not exist on mine. He offered to reset my phone to the original factory settings. But I would loose too much stuff so that is not an option.how I get to set it as a my new ringtone?
you installed 5.1 believing the hype that latest means greatest and found out that 5.1 is not better than 4.4.4, simply different. You found out some of your apps don't work, your battery life took a hit for the worse or even your hardware does not perform as well as it did on Kitkat 4.4.4. If you installed the OTA for 5.1 and you are happy, this is not directed at you; just continue to enjoy your new OS. I have taken the time to read from many different sources and viewed several videos on You Tube that test side by side Kitkat 4.4.4 vs LP 5.1 and it shows conclusively that Kitkat out.
If you know for a fact that LP will offer you something specific that you need take the plunge but at least take the time to check what LP will mess up that you are now enjoying on Kitkat, the information is out there easily found, in closing: if you are sitting on the fence and have not yet taken the 5.1 OTA read and view videos so when you make your decision at least you will know what you will be getting and losing.
I just got a droid turbo and installed the recommended updates. It has changed the look of my keyboard and I would like to go back to the original one. How do I do this?
I have tried to install 2 different games: Fieldrunners & Need for Speed Shift and I get the error can't load since out of memory? I don't have that many games (8-10?) and have plenty of memory. This is much less than I had installed on my HTC TB & Droid X and had no issues.
Under App downloaded tab have 731mb used, 1.3G free Under all tab, 725 mb used, 1.3g free Under media area 1.6g used, 9.8g free Under running tab, have 233 mb used, 121mb free
I'm trying to have the phone storage locations (internal and optional micro SD card installed) show up in My Computer to be able to transfer files. My OS is Windows XP SP3.I have installed the latest version 2.3.4 of the"Motorola Device Manager" software. The install goes fine. There are no "Plug phone in now" kind of prompts, but the installer says the program is installed and will launch whenever I plug in the phone. So when I unlock and plug in the phone, the MDM icon shows up in the system tray, and the Windows "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard" comes up. Hmmm...did the software installer install the drivers or not?If I click Next, the message "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software."So I go back and change the selection to "install from a list or specific location", then specify to look in C:WINDOWSsystem32 (which usually works for most things)
After installing the Jelly Bean update on my Razr Maxx, I have been unable to connect to WiFi. I have factory reset, reset my router and wiped the cache.
I finished installing ICS 3 hours ago. The problem was that my battery died during the time it was updating media database. Now, the battery will not charge. It says at 5%. If I am using my phone at all (i.e. just making folders) it heats up and dies/turns off. I've tried 2 different batteries and 2 different chargers with the same results. Also- 3 hours later and I still have no contacts and many apps no longer work (google voice).
Today my droid x 2 wont install or update my apps I get an error message that reads "couldn't install on USB storage or SD card". I have turned off my phone did a battery pull, took out sd card put it back in and cleared market data and cache. And still have the problem.
I bought a new iphone 4s and try to connect it to my laptop, device driver installation failed. Previously i was having one ipone 4s which i gave it to my brother and now try to add the photos from the itunes. but i couldn't able to connect with laptop or the itunes at all.
I'm trying to link my RAZR HD and 64-bit Windows 7 laptop through bluetooth (Intel Centrino Bluetooth 3.0 adapter). I pair them, but when the driver installation starts, all but one of the 5 driver installations fail. Is this a Motorola problem and if so, is there anywhere I can download the correct drivers? I'm 90% sure everything is up to date on the laptop end of the equation.
I am trying to control few SE mobile models such as W595, W705 and more in remote via serial module (Hyper Terminal and others). After a period of time where things went smoothly I ran into 2 major problems: 1. Only the first device is installed correctly on the pictures. All other devices identified as "Other devices” and it takes a lot of time (more than 10 minute) till the second device driver are installed. 2. When I run an automation test which communicate with the SE device via serial (using the comport identified in the device manager as management) suddenly the device stops response to the serial commands from any serial tool (my application, Hyper Terminal, etc). What I see is that the device remain identified in the device manager but doesn't response. When I close the serial session and reopen it I get the response of the previous command.
I'm trying to use QuickLink Mobile Phone Book on a Dell Vostro 200 desktop running Windows XP. I can't seem to load the drivers from the install disk. The installation wizard can't find the drivers. Has anybody run into this problem?

I've installed the MotoHelper driver 4.9, and rebooted. Restart the Windows 7 machine.. When I plug in the xoom it says installing usb driver and then says MTP USB device failed to install. Not only that, then my external wireless Microsoft Keyboard with usb bluetooth tranceiver and wireless mouse (non-bluetooth) with usb tranceiver both fail to operate. Seems like there is some conflict.
I'm having a problem that others seem to have had in various forms...The problem: After successfully installing the Motocast software, I go into my MyMotocast account, and it tells me I have not installed the software. The same thing happens when I try to access Motocast through my Droid Razr.I spent the better part of two hours on the phone with Motorola Level 1 and Level 2 Support. In the end, the Level 2 Support Tech acknowledged that I had done everything correctly, but he could not solve the problem. Very frustrating....During the troubleshooting process, we uninstalled and reinstalled the software on my machine a couple of times, both from the phone via USB and directly from the web site. The software has since updated to version 1.1.58, but with not positive effect.
I am just receiving my Motorola Defy. But I can't transfer files between computer and phone : the MTP driver has a bad installation.I have a message (not exact I translate because I'm in french): "bad service in INF file"I have tried reboot, uninstall and re-install, by the hand or by the Motorola drivers installer (I have dowladed the last version). Nothing.
I purchased a card from Amazon last week. I haen't received update yet. The card came with a micro and SD adapter included. Do I need the micro adapter to install the small micro memory card? How do I install the card? Do I have to format it on my PC before installing on Xoom?
Both laptop and phone see one another but the laptop gives me error message that driver cannot be installed. First query: Can this android phone interface with Win 7 OS via bluetooth? Would a LAN connection be more optimal. If so, can I connect phone to my home LAN?
I just bought the lapdock for the Atrix 4G and I think this is the first generation ($50 from AT&T). In my home network, I have a print server (Trendnet) to which 2 Epson inkjet printers are attached via the 2 USB ports.
Now when I add a printer in the lapdock, it shows me the 2 USB ports (PS-7336E9-U1 and PS7336E9-U2, both of these are standard TCP/IP ports per printer properties on my desktop. I select one of them and just shows me the Postcript or PCL drivers. when I tried to print a test page, it printed all garbage on mulitple pages, whichever of my 2 network printers. Is there a way to install the Epson inkjet drivers so that it will print properly on my lapdock.
