I just noticed that with the Gingerbread update there are now two sdcard mount points: "sdcard" and "sdcard-ext".I don't think the "sdcard-ext" was there in Froyo. "sdcard" still points to my removable SD Card card and "sdcard-ext" is empty.What is the "sdcard-ext" used for on the D2G? On the X2 it is the actual removable SD Card, while "sdcard" refers to internal memory that a user can access.

I'm a user that comes from the Samsung Captivate, so it was never a problem for me because Samsung phones access the external sdcard by means of a symlink from inside the internal sdcard doing something like/sdcard/external_sdBut with the Atrix is completely different since the mount points are/mnt/sdcard and there's a symlink to /sdcardAnd the external sdcard is/mnt/sdcard-ext with a symlink to /sdcard-extIs there a workaround for achieving what I need to do? I believe it's not possible to create a symlink because of the filesystem used in the sdcard, but I might be wrong.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have observed daily files (see attached) created in a folder /mdm/facetime in my SDCard. Looking at the contents, it keeps a log of the applications I used throughtout each day.
This looks very scary. I am not completely sure what is causing this. However, my suspicsion is on an app called My Data Manager. This app tracks the data and time used by every app.
Randomly my phones sdcard will become "read only" and it won't save anything to it.In the past I've rebooted the phone to fix it but this time that didn't work. After removing the card to see if my pc would recognize it, which it did, I made a copy of it and put it back in my phone and restarted it and it's fine.....for now. I backed everything up but this is getting old now. Anybody else having this problem

View 8 Replies View RelatedI would like to access a file on my SDCard directly from a link in the Notes section of my Tasks application.
I am able to put a link there and access a web page, simply by typing a web address (e.g. http://www.sample.com), which converts to a link after I close and re-open the task. From an open browser window, I am also able to access a file that exists on my SDCard (e.g. file:///SDCard/BlackBerry/documents/sample.pdf will go fetch the file and then open my default PDF reader just as it ought to). But when I type "file:///SDCard/BlackBerry/...etc..." into the notes section, it remains as text, and does not get recognized as/ converted to a link to the file.
Somehow my phone changed the date of my taken pictures and whatsapp pictures saved on the SDcard. I dont know why or how that happened.

What is the best way to correct the dates? It would take a lot of time to change every single picture since there are around 150 pictures to be changed individually. Is this maybe a mistake of the media cache??
My Titanium Backup license file (txt) was not recognized on the sdcard. I tried almost everything. Uninstalled, reinstalled and so on. I also placed the file in the mnt/sdcard folder what didn't wok. I owned several devices and never had a single problem. There must be something nexus specific?
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes Motorola intentionally make their new products inferior at release?I've been using a Droid and a Droid 2 for about 18 months.I shoot a lot of pictures outdoors, some macro, lots of nature and concerts.I also shoot indoors under challenging conditions (concert lighting.) They have both prtovided a passable point-and-shoot camera.The Droid 3 camera is dissapointing in that several important features have vanished:
-There is auto white balance, only a manual and difficult-to-use control.
-The user can no longer set ISO
-The user can no longer set EV
-Focus is iffy under a variety of conditions
-Photos have a bluish cast under most conditions, with and without flash
So instead of getting pretty good shots with a convenient camera, I'm getting washed-out, bluish garbage.(Issues with the video vs. Droid 2 also, in a separate post.)I want to know if Motorola intends to make the experience of this camera catch up with the spec soon, or if i should return my phone while I can still get something else from Verizon.
Just received the GB 2.3.3 update on my Droid X and all I can say is WOW!does it ever change the look of the phone. Still getting used to the changes but one thing I've noticed is that when you click on the blue Voice Dial button on the phone page, it syas, "Application is not installed on your phone". if this was by design with the 2.3.3 update? Is so, can you please advise as to where to download the app. I had voice dial on the previous version.

However, less than half of my Gallery pictures made it over. Because the Gallery is a stock app and not in the marketplace it is not on the the above market transfer desktop application.I also have astro and estrong on my device.

And if any of you have been with Verizon for a while you guys know how we cherished that NE2 (new every 2 yrs and 100 dollars towards it)....lol. With Verizon pushing the Blackberry and tons of dumbphones (2009) I even considered changing carriers. So after months of media hype I decided to wait before the change. In Dec of 2009 I got a OG Droid. Awesome phone which my daughter uses now. In Dec 2010 I got a Droid X and in Dec 2011 I got a Moto Xoom wifi. I chose the Xoom this year instead of a phone because I honestly feel that the DX2 and the Bionic shouldve been 1 phone instead of 2 phones tryning to fill gaps till the Razor came out.....thats another story for another time......To sum it all up: The OG droid will always be one of the phones that changed the market! The first android phone that was released to Verizon's Captive Audience with only blackberrys and dumbphones to choose from.....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased the Moto Elite Sliver because my Plantronics Pro HD would drop its bluetooth every single time a call was answered or placed. I did a little research and found it may be related to a conflict with the 2.0 headset and 4.0 phone. Moto Sliver is BT 3.0 and was working great until this week. Now every single time a call is disconnected, the headset disconnects and reconnects. Reboots galore, problem still exists. Uninstall/reinstall Motospeak, problem still exists. Sometimes the bluetooth will not connect at all (reboot required). The Droid RAZR Maxx and the Elite Sliver are supposed to be state of the art MOTOROLA, I make a living with my phone and headset.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had been able to charge my X2 in a 2011 KIA soul no problem. Last time I tried it would connect then disconnect. I uninstalled new apps, battery pull. My husband has the X and his still charges. So we know the charger is still working. I suspect GB but not sure. I completed some research and have not found anything. BTW I can charge via USB on a computer still.
