Jun 10, 2012I have never tried wired tethering with the Motorola Defy or looked into whether it will do a "TV Out" function.

View 1 RepliesI use Defy 2.2 for USB tethering. It works fine but often the phone rejects to dial ATD *99# with an ERROR and only phone restart helps to bring tethering back to live. how to fix it or restart this service only without the need to reboot the whole phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedYes, I am the one who likes to photo herself with a mobile phone (and not to post in anywhere on the web, yeah, not even a facebook)
and, sincerely, it is really difficult to take picture of oneself if a camera button is ON the touch screen, it is tricky and 7/10 times I accidentaly press something elese and not the camera button, and it just takes me to the side menu.
Is it possible to take on/off button or zoom/volume button (the only physical buttons on the phone) and reassign one of them to be a camera button?
during the underwater photography as well. I have Defy, non US, retail en DE firmware 2.2.2
I would like to know a good earphones to be used with Atrix 4g.

View 1 Replies View Relatedsetting up auto-fetching applies to all email accounts. I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI thought my battery life issues had been resolved. But i jsut recently got a set of bluetooth ( Jabra SPORT Bluetooth Stereo Headset ) headphones and noticed that battery life is back down to nothing ( 3.5 hrs ish).
I'm wondering does anyone have a rough estimate of the battery drain that blutooth has on the ACTV ? should i jsut give up and go back to wired for cycling :(
how to squeeze more juice in blutetooth mode . I'm already in marathon mode , with short screen timeout. I don't anve and ANT+ stuff going on..
I"m looking for the settings for the wired headset. There was a screen that allowed you to set sound effects and I believe equalizer settings. Was this screen eliminated? I can't seem to find it.

View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen I am using a wired headset with my phone the microphone on the phone remains on and it becomes very noisy; therefore making the use of a wired headset almost impossible. I know I may be able to avoid this by using a blue tooth; however, I need to use a wired headset and not a blue tooth in many situations..!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo via Motorola website but it hasn't worked. My phone still shows firmware 2.1.1. Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly. This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file. After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have found it almost impossible to get a wired headset to work on my bionic when in my car (which has built in bluetooth, and which is bonded to the phone just fine). The only way I can make the wired headset take precedence over the bluetooth, and/or the phone's speaker phone, is to:
1. Make a call in the car (any mode).
2. Plug in headset.
3. Click on the phone's speaker icon (headset works for 1/2 second before sound reverts to bionic's speakerphone).
4. Unplug and plug the headset into the bionic, often 2 or 3 times.
Obviously this sucks and would cause a terrible accident if one were driving and doing all these procedures. I have read every documentation on the phone to no avail. I have called Motorola twice, to no avail (and was hung up on by the tech), and called Verizon tech, who also hung up on me.
Can I use the calender on my defy without syncing with anything else, just as an organiser ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOccasionally, I will lose both the wired and bluetooth headphones. My bluetooth headphones will work for the phone, but not for game or music player audio. When I disconnect the headphones, the speaker works fine. When I reconnect them, I still get nothing, but again, after disconnecting, the speaker works.Rebooting the phone corrects the issue. The best I can relate this to is muting the phone during a meeting.I have use the volume rocker and my "Volume Control" app.If I mute it, and put it back quickly, it works. It's when I've had it muted for an hour or so that I see the problem.

View -1 Replies View RelatedI have an unlocked motorola milestile that I just bought about 2 weeks ago and had it unlocked for bell. Anyways, recently bell called me saying that I owe them about $250 for tethering my phone, I apparently used about 15mb by tethering. I got pissed and told them I never did that and they said the best they could do is reduce the bill to $100, I took what I could get.
After talking with them, I realized that I always connected my phone to my computer in order to recharge it during the night (it's more convenient and safer then using the wall jack, the wall jacks are in places people can step on my phone). I figured I must have been accidentally tethering with it.Anyways, I still wanna use my computer to recharge the phone when it needs recharging. So how do I disable the tethering to make sure this doesn't happen again? Also, is there a good way for me to confirm that tethering is disabled?
I bought a new work computer and tried using USB tethering with my Atrix. It installed the NDIS adapter but I was getting the infamous 169.x.x.x address. I decided to try it later since I was in a hurry. Now, the phone will not start USB tethering at all. I plug it in and the USB Tethering check box has a light green checkbox like it's turning on, but never changes. I have rebooted and pulled the battery. No change. What's strange is that I plug the USB in and when I go to the tethering screen the USB checkbox is already checked automatically. I seem to remember having to enable it manually before all this started.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to trethering the XoomFE, running Win 7,shows up as a network device.
What can I do to get the FE to connect as a tablet.
The XOOM 3G manual says that ts possible to use USB tethering for sharing your XOOM's 3G connection with the laptop. However, the XOOM doesn't have the option described in the manual! I'm running 3.2 on a non-US 3G XOOM.Well, you might wonder why I need USB tethering. So far, I've found that USB tethering provides better bandwidth than WIFI tethering.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a hard time tethering from XOOM to Laptop, after I reinstalled my Window VISTA laptop, and since I upgraded XOOM to 4G. I don't know whether it is 4G upgrade or VISTA that causes the problem. Sometime, it works the first attempt to connect, the other time i have to reboot my laptop a couple of times. My remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device driver is current. My Laptop saw XOOM drive fine no problem( I did installed Motorola Driver). And I attempted to do a soft reboot (Vol up + Power button), it shown the battery level and hung there for a long time (1 to 2 minutes maybe). I think i don't know how to do a soft reboot the right way. However, I can tether to my laptop, but i have to reboot my laptop a couple times. I did try to unplug and replug the USB cable and then set xoom to tethering/hot spot in both wifi and 3g/4g. It failed to connect unless I reboot the machine. My xoom is 3.2.2 with HLK75D build number.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an iPod Touch and love it. (No, I don't want to buy an iPhone). I really liked my Moto Q, but then bought a used Q9C because I thought that it, along with a Cradlepoint PHS300, would allow me to utilize my iPod Touch when no hotspots were around.Well, so far no joy, but that's another story (and several threads). The question here is:
1) If I upgrade to a Touch Pro 2 (or other SERO-compatible phone), will I have an easier time "tethering" the iPod Touch? I've already sunk $100 into the PHS300, so if I act quickly, I can return the PHS300 and get the Touch Pro 2 for "only" another $100 or $200.(I do NOT have "phone-as-modem" [PAM] on my plan)
2) If I say 'forget my SERO' and get an Android phone, how will I fare?
I have a tethering plan with my blackberry. I would like to tether my xoom wifi to my blackberry phone via bluetooth. Im able to do this with my laptop with no issues. I purchased the WIFI version with the idea of being able to use tethering while away from usable wifi.
