I have a problem with my contact images and widget images imported from Facebook, they look heavily rendered and blury whilst two other Motorola Defy owners I know have the same images showing up very clearly on there phone.
View 5 Repliesim running 2.2 froyo on my defy "outside the states so its not motoblur" and i cant seem to be able to sink facebook in my accounts,its there but everytime i click it or hold a press on it,nothing happens, all other accounts are sync'd and working properly but the facebook,although the facebook widget and app are working normally,i just cant seem to sync the contacts and calender and all the good stuff i'd expect from a facebook app and everyone gets. if anyone faced this same issue please let me know. i thought maybe coz my facebook is already sync'd with my other device which is a blackberry, but that still doesnt make sense for it just not to respond completely whenever i click on it in the accounts menu!!!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use to have a Cliq, but now I have upgraded to a Defy. On T-Mobile network in the US. It has motoblur and is android version 2.2.1. The model number is MB525. Inside of my accounts tab I have:

if I open the google or tmobile accts I can click boxes to sync them, but on the top 4 motoblur accts when i open them it just allows me to put in the login and password.when I go into my contacts tab it shows no facebook contacts. if I click the button on which groups to show it doesnt have facebook as an option, just create new group, all contacts, favorites, family room, and starred in android.
I found one place that said to delete my facebook acct on the phone, turn the phone off, delete the motoblur app on my facebook acct, then turn phone back on and add the facebook acct. I did that and it went back and added the motoblur to my facebook acct, now under todays date, so I know it is accepting the password and making contact with my facebook, it just isnt adding any of the contacts.I also went and downloaded the facebook app on the android store because one site said that would do it.. but alas it didnt. I notice a lot of people are having this problem with non us and non motoblur phones, but mine is US and motoblur.
i actually dont have a Defy with the motoblur..however der was no option to select one without it...i cant sync my facebook accounts to the contacts list.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast week i had my Defy running UK T-Mobile Froyo suddenly stop being able to use Facebook or Twitter, despite other applications (HotUkDeals, Browser, Tesco ) all being able to connect to the net - it happened at the same time.I have since cleared the cache on both, uninstalled, re-installed, and all i keep getting when trying to login to FB is: "An error occurred during sign in" and on Twitter: "An error occured when signing in. Please try again later".
Is there a setting buried somewhere that might be causing this? Is it something like an SSL Cert becoming expired? Really annoyed by it as it means no FB messaging during the day.
I don't believe you are able to, i have tried numerous ways, but they all just end up going to "Mobile uploads", then i have to go in and sort them out manually ont he comp, it's justa pain in the butt

Currently there lots of tears in internets about SN-Widget and how bad/random its synching with Facebook, there also some workarounds but i would love to get an answer from any Officials.My workaround: was uninstalling the update for Social Networks app and after reboot its synched my FB stuff perfectly, but when Blur-updater(see task-manager) installed it again the widget stopped synching anything from FB.Its works also random with Twitter - actualy its shows you your status update but not the tweets you fallow.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I've had this phone for about 5,6 months with different problems over the course of my time with the phone.Was wondering if anyone has had the same problems and if there are any solutions. So first, sometimes my phone will randomly delete contacts from my phone and place them in the "hidden" folder. I haven't hidden them, but I've gotten text from people and be unsure who it is,but then find out it is someone that I know and who has been in my phone.Also, since my contacts are synced with facebook,it will randomly delete the FB picture to my contact so instead of it showing their default picture on facebook in my contacts, it just shows the blank face. In the past it has deleted the picture and will eventually come back after a coule of days or weeks but currently it has deleted multiple of my contacts pictures and has yet to come back. I dont know if I am accidentally hitting something or if there is a way to prevent this but it is aggravating. Also, sometimes if I go to send a text message, say for instance to Sally Sue,I'll click Sally Sue, send the text but then in my messaging folder it does not show the name "Sally Sue" nor does it show their picture, but just the phone number alone as if I texted someone who was not inputed in my contact list.It eventually goes back to showing the name but it still annoying nonetheless.The last issue is with the gps sattelite that will not shut off and for whatever reason prevents me to use facebook on my phone.I've read that this has been an issue with others in the past and tried some of the suggestions people offered.I have uninstalled FB, reinstalled in, callibrated my phone, taken out the battery, turn on/off, etc and nothing works.Under settings in the securty tab, it is always checked next to GPS Satellites on. I will uncheck it, but it never stays that way, it will always go back to being checked and I can never use my FB app as it will open for like 2 seconds then cut out.

I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.

This persists even after said video is transferred to other mediumsIt should be noted that all the videos that she sends are rotated -90 degrees, so it might be more accurate to say that the videos are stretched vertically.The BlackBerry is new, and a check for update via Wireless Update says the OS is already latest version. Note that the carrier's "latest version" may not be the latest version available from other carriers worldwide.This is not the iPhone's fault, by the way, as videos sent to my BlackBerry Bold 9700 are not stretched. Still rotated (so I have to rotate the device itself to watch it), but not stretched.This is not an isolated case, as my sister's mother-in-law uses a BlackBerry Torch 9810 too, and it suffers the same problem.By the way, the OS is already 7.1. I don't know the exact build number, but if the latest build solved this issue , I'll just go ahead and download it.

Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

1) When I have an email, whether my personal or work, and the email contains images, they don't show up on the BB. I know within each e-mail I can ask for the images to show but is there an option somewhere for it to always show? I don't want to have to ask for the images on each e-mail.
2) At the top of the screen, I have the Facebook logo and the the number 2 right before it and it won't go away.I do not have any new notifications from Facebook-I know a red star comes with those to alert me to that.
I am having a strange and irritating problem after upgrading Nokia E71 Symbian firmware to version 410..Nokia Web Browser displays broken images (the ones which are like icons, next to the user names in the news feed) on the Facebook Mobile website. Opera Mini Browser displays the page correctly. Nokia E61 Native Browser also displays the page correctly. Tried another web connection (i.e. different router etc) but problem persists.

My battery life has significantly worsened, downloading updates from the app store is buggy and slow, my phone regularly reboots, drops signal and slows down to a crawl.
I have tried restoring, restarting, returning, resetting every re- in the book. Nothing has helped and I see from a quick google search that I am not the only one with issues after this release. I want to downgrade to 5.0.1 as the phone was as close to perfect as a phone can be at that point. Apple, in all it's wisdom, won't allow downgrades because of the minority of people who jailbreak their phones. I am not one of that minority, all I'm interested in is having a phone that works with a battery that lasts more than half a day.
I installed a spyware app on my Torch9800.Stealthgenie. After firstly working properly and uploading the info, it slowed up, got very hot, and has now slowed to a stop. It seems to be stuck trying to upload info, but it isn't actually uploading. The internet connection was intermittant, and it seems as though it is clogged up with a back log. Now it wont work at all. No email, sms, and its stuck on desktop and unable to open any other pages.I have done a hard re boot several times but it remains the same. Very slowly and occasionally receiving or uploading a small amount of data.

1. Is this possible from the built-in browser ? I can do it from Opera Mini, but haven't found a straightforward method for the Nokia browser.
2. The images I did download are very small (certainly smaller than the were when uploaded). Is it possible to download the full-sized image ? If not, is this a phone/browser or Facebook limitation ?
