Motorola Defy :: How To Sync Facebook Account To Contacts If There Is No Motoblur
Apr 25, 2011Just want to know if there could be any other way in linking the contacts with my facebook account because there's no motoblur feature for defy here. Do i need to install a third party app to be able to link it?

Jun 6, 2011im running 2.2 froyo on my defy "outside the states so its not motoblur" and i cant seem to be able to sink facebook in my accounts,its there but everytime i click it or hold a press on it,nothing happens, all other accounts are sync'd and working properly but the facebook,although the facebook widget and app are working normally,i just cant seem to sync the contacts and calender and all the good stuff i'd expect from a facebook app and everyone gets. if anyone faced this same issue please let me know. i thought maybe coz my facebook is already sync'd with my other device which is a blackberry, but that still doesnt make sense for it just not to respond completely whenever i click on it in the accounts menu!!!

Sep 26, 2011I use to have a Cliq, but now I have upgraded to a Defy. On T-Mobile network in the US. It has motoblur and is android version 2.2.1. The model number is MB525. Inside of my accounts tab I have:
MOTOBLUR accts:
blur act
hotmail1 acct
hotmail2 acct

if I open the google or tmobile accts I can click boxes to sync them, but on the top 4 motoblur accts when i open them it just allows me to put in the login and password.when I go into my contacts tab it shows no facebook contacts. if I click the button on which groups to show it doesnt have facebook as an option, just create new group, all contacts, favorites, family room, and starred in android.
I found one place that said to delete my facebook acct on the phone, turn the phone off, delete the motoblur app on my facebook acct, then turn phone back on and add the facebook acct. I did that and it went back and added the motoblur to my facebook acct, now under todays date, so I know it is accepting the password and making contact with my facebook, it just isnt adding any of the contacts.I also went and downloaded the facebook app on the android store because one site said that would do it.. but alas it didnt. I notice a lot of people are having this problem with non us and non motoblur phones, but mine is US and motoblur.
Motorola Defy :: Deletes Contacts Randomly / Delete Pictures From Facebook
Oct 2, 2011So I've had this phone for about 5,6 months with different problems over the course of my time with the phone.Was wondering if anyone has had the same problems and if there are any solutions. So first, sometimes my phone will randomly delete contacts from my phone and place them in the "hidden" folder. I haven't hidden them, but I've gotten text from people and be unsure who it is,but then find out it is someone that I know and who has been in my phone.Also, since my contacts are synced with facebook,it will randomly delete the FB picture to my contact so instead of it showing their default picture on facebook in my contacts, it just shows the blank face. In the past it has deleted the picture and will eventually come back after a coule of days or weeks but currently it has deleted multiple of my contacts pictures and has yet to come back. I dont know if I am accidentally hitting something or if there is a way to prevent this but it is aggravating. Also, sometimes if I go to send a text message, say for instance to Sally Sue,I'll click Sally Sue, send the text but then in my messaging folder it does not show the name "Sally Sue" nor does it show their picture, but just the phone number alone as if I texted someone who was not inputed in my contact list.It eventually goes back to showing the name but it still annoying nonetheless.The last issue is with the gps sattelite that will not shut off and for whatever reason prevents me to use facebook on my phone.I've read that this has been an issue with others in the past and tried some of the suggestions people offered.I have uninstalled FB, reinstalled in, callibrated my phone, taken out the battery, turn on/off, etc and nothing works.Under settings in the securty tab, it is always checked next to GPS Satellites on. I will uncheck it, but it never stays that way, it will always go back to being checked and I can never use my FB app as it will open for like 2 seconds then cut out.

Dec 14, 2011i cant seem to sync my fb contacts.i entered my fb email/pass into the accounts appit said it was ok, but no contacts show up in my contacts nor do any show up in my gallery app. i tried re-entering the info, removing the acct, adding it again, rebooting my phone etc. now, it looks like there is a tiny bit of progress.. i can see "me" but that's it. in the contacts app, if i only select to display fb contacts, it just shows me and not body else. in the gallery app, if i hit menu and then hit "friends" again, it only shows me. why is this not pulling in any contacts/friends?

Jul 25, 2011I just purchased my Atrix phone yesterday. I am a complete newbie. At the store, the sales person moved my phone contacts from my old phone to the Atrix. When I got home I added my Facebook account and the app sync'ed my facebook friends to my contacts. Now I don't see any of the original contacts that were transfered when I purchased the phone.Is this a bug with the Facebook app, have the numbers been deleted or is there a setting that will display them?

Oct 26, 2012How to sync or rather resync facebook contacts back to your XPRT's contact list if lost. My son deleted my contacts and when I restored them from online back ups I noticed my facebooks were not there. Trying to remove the account to resync would not work. I received an error with each attempt. Like many users I use the Facebook app from Google's market. Even when I would force close the app it would still not remove my face book account. You cannot resync unless you remove the account. Open the facebook app and simply sign out of the app. do not close it but sign out by hitting the menu icon to the left of your home button on the touch scene. This will allow you to remove the Facebook account. It will warn you on sign out that all your Facebook data on your phone will be lost if you sign out. That is okay as soon as you log in and resync and reopen the app it will all come back.
Once you have logged out remove your account by going to My Accounts in the app drawer or from your phones settings through the menu button. Resettling your phone is not necessary but can be done at this point if you wish. Either way after this point you must add your facebook account back by going back to My Accounts. Once you add the email and password and it goes back to your accounts screen you will see two (2) facebook accounts. Click one and if it pulls up a blue and white screen to log into the facebook app stop. Hit the back button and click the other facebook account. The one you want will have a black Motorola XPRT system windows that says "sync contacts" just hit that sync button and it should as long as facebook and your MOTOBLUR app on facebook are both working resync you contacts adding them to your phones contacts.

Sep 1, 2011Last week i had my Defy running UK T-Mobile Froyo suddenly stop being able to use Facebook or Twitter, despite other applications (HotUkDeals, Browser, Tesco ) all being able to connect to the net - it happened at the same time.I have since cleared the cache on both, uninstalled, re-installed, and all i keep getting when trying to login to FB is: "An error occurred during sign in" and on Twitter: "An error occured when signing in. Please try again later".
Is there a setting buried somewhere that might be causing this? Is it something like an SSL Cert becoming expired? Really annoyed by it as it means no FB messaging during the day.

Feb 2, 2012Well just wonder if there some Devs here to get any word on Motoblur/Social widget stuck. Currently there lots of tears in internets about SN-Widget and how bad/random its synching with Facebook, there also some workarounds but i would love to get an answer from any Officials.My workaround: was uninstalling the update for Social Networks app and after reboot its synched my FB stuff perfectly, but when Blur-updater(see task-manager) installed it again the widget stopped synching anything from FB.Its works also random with Twitter - actualy its shows you your status update but not the tweets you fallow.

Feb 5, 2010I cannot check the box that says "Connect your Facebook account with BlackBerry contacts application." When I try to check this box it just goes to the menu. Same for BlackBerry Calendar application.
The only one that I can check is BlackBerry Message application, and I'm not interested.
I used to be able to do this with the previous version of Facebook for BlackBerry. I have tried re-installing a few times, with no success. So my contacts are not syncing with Facebook now (they sync to older, cached FB info).
