Jun 21, 2011I have a shortcut on one of my homescreens that reads "stay current with your friend's latest updates" that won't delete. Is there no way to get rid of it?

Nov 24, 2011I noticed there was a duplicate of a video file in my phone and I can't get rid of it.I already got the original file off phone but the duplicate is still there. I can't play the file and when I click on the file the delete option is grayed out. I looked in the memory card and there is no file there but the phone still says its there.How do I get rid of it?

Apr 5, 2012I had recently purchased my first Android device, a Moto Defy+. This is not a carrier locked phone.
I use my gmail contacts as the default address book and when i signed up for Moto blur account, it somehow made a backup of all my gmail contacts on motoblur. Now, i can see the same contact details twice for every address book entry. During the backup process, motoblur deleted the leading zeros from all phone numbers. Even though gmail is my default address book, the phone picks up motoblur stored info while making calls - due to which I am now unable to make long distance calls from my phone unless i manually go and edit/delete the phone numbers from the motoblur section on the address book. needless to say, this is very irritating as i have over a 1000 contacts.
How do i delete all my contacts from the motoblur section? i do not really use the motoblur account for anything and if deleting the motoblur account is a solution, i'll be happy to do that. however, i do not want to do a factory setting restore.

Motorola Defy :: Deletes Contacts Randomly / Delete Pictures From Facebook
Oct 2, 2011So I've had this phone for about 5,6 months with different problems over the course of my time with the phone.Was wondering if anyone has had the same problems and if there are any solutions. So first, sometimes my phone will randomly delete contacts from my phone and place them in the "hidden" folder. I haven't hidden them, but I've gotten text from people and be unsure who it is,but then find out it is someone that I know and who has been in my phone.Also, since my contacts are synced with facebook,it will randomly delete the FB picture to my contact so instead of it showing their default picture on facebook in my contacts, it just shows the blank face. In the past it has deleted the picture and will eventually come back after a coule of days or weeks but currently it has deleted multiple of my contacts pictures and has yet to come back. I dont know if I am accidentally hitting something or if there is a way to prevent this but it is aggravating. Also, sometimes if I go to send a text message, say for instance to Sally Sue,I'll click Sally Sue, send the text but then in my messaging folder it does not show the name "Sally Sue" nor does it show their picture, but just the phone number alone as if I texted someone who was not inputed in my contact list.It eventually goes back to showing the name but it still annoying nonetheless.The last issue is with the gps sattelite that will not shut off and for whatever reason prevents me to use facebook on my phone.I've read that this has been an issue with others in the past and tried some of the suggestions people offered.I have uninstalled FB, reinstalled in, callibrated my phone, taken out the battery, turn on/off, etc and nothing works.Under settings in the securty tab, it is always checked next to GPS Satellites on. I will uncheck it, but it never stays that way, it will always go back to being checked and I can never use my FB app as it will open for like 2 seconds then cut out.

Dec 6, 2011My phone has multiple resets ad the direction of Motorola, and has been in for a circuit board replacement.Now the screen still freezes and the reception is hopeless.I am sure this handset is a lemon.It is still under warranty, 11 months old.

Dec 2, 2011setting up auto-fetching applies to all email accounts. I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.

Sep 4, 2011I have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.

Aug 2, 2011I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

Sep 26, 2011The shortcut widget for having shortcuts for apps in the symbian 3 or symbian Anna platform is made for having four shortcuts and nothing less. If at all, one doesn't assign a shortcut to it, still there's an icon that is shown as default when nothing is assigned.Here's what you do...1. Download the app called vacuum.sis from the web. Try this link...www.mediafire.com/?a01dw4w4azasjmn2. Install the app anywhere in your phone, phone memory, mass memory or memory card.3. Now go to homescreen and press and hold to go into edit mode.4. Tap the desired location for adding the shortcut bar and select it from the list of widgets available.5. Once the shortcut bar is added, tap it and go into the settings for adding the shortcuts to it.6. Now if you want to add only one app in the shortcut bar, select the desired location from one to four and add the app. In the rest of the locations, add the vacuum app.7.
Now close the shortcut and return to home screen. You should see only one shortcut in the shortcut bar. This way you can place any one app at any location on the grid with app.What's actually vacuum app? Its a dummy app which when installed, results in an app which doesn't do anything on installation and has a transparent icon. So an unknowing tap on the shortcut also will do nothing. Tada! You've a shortcut bar with just one app... Its customizable between one and four apps. This has been tested and works in my Nokia C7 with Anna. So should work in other symbian

Sep 27, 2011So when I'm texting on this phone, sometimes the shortcuts will randomly pop up, like if I hit the "L" key the calendar will pop up. It's odd because I'm in the text message app, or it happens if I have to type something in Browser. This only happens on occassion. I know it has something to do with the shortcut feature, but I should have to hit another button before they actually pop up.

Motorola Droid X :: My Shortcut Icons Disappearing
Jun 2, 2011After the GB update, anytime that I mount/unmount the SD card, any icons that i have created dissapear from the home pages. This is only for apps that I moved to the SD card. I've tried rebooting, and no change. Any thoughts? BTW, I did a full wipe and reset after the GB installation.
With Froyo, if the card was unmounted, any app moved to the SD card, the shortcut icons were shown as generic with a gear icon. However, once mounted, the the app icon would be restored.
