I recently purchased a used Bravo phone. It's an AT&T version that is unlocked and has been updated to FROYO. Although Motorola says there's no way to do it, I have read that it is possible to uninstall pre-loaded apps. I would really like to get rid of all the AT&T crapware!

Until then everything was fine.Now when I plug my Bravo into a USB port, I hear a chime, but no window opens.When I go to My Computer, the phone is shown as Removeable Disk (X:).When I double click on it, a small window opens with this message: "Insert Disk.Please insert a disk into drive X:." Under properties, it appears as Motorola MB520 USB Device, a disk drive.After plenty of research, I have tried changing the assigned letter of the drive twice.Every other USB device I own works just fine on my PC. The only way I can access the phone on my PC is to turn off the pc, connect the phone, power on the pc, and then the phone appears as a phone. When I connect the phone to another pc, the phone appears as it should.Some research shows this problem may be related to Acronis on my pc, but another pc with Acronis on it can recognize my phone. Could this be the result of disconnecting the phone without "preparing" the disconnect?

I have tried two refurb phones from ATT and a new battery, and it still does it. I even got a new SD card, thinking that maybe it was a memory issue. Still restarting.Is there a solution (besides just buying a new phone)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had the Droid X since Launch Day and I have loved the phone except for one glaring issue that constantly bugs me: LAG/general stuttering.I just tried it and noticed an immediate increase in snappiness and responsiveness. My problem is that I have many apps installed on my phone. I may not use them all the time but I do like to have them on there. Unfortunately I have noticed that these apps will often run in the background and probably just slow my phone down even though I would not normally use them. Is there any solution to keeping my phone running fast with a lot of apps? Or maybe a selective safe mode where you can choose what is allowed to run?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy phone is shutting itself off or rebooting itself unreasonably often, and the camera/camcorder "fail to initialize" or exit when pressing the record button incredibly frequently. Tried uninstalling random apps with no improvement.I hope that, in the future, that Motorola will stop wasting resources trying to customize the OS and focus only on making sure things work properly.I also hope to see the ICS update as vanilla, untouched as possible.On a side note, is there any way to see debugging/error info or whatnot with these phones? I've saved myself a lot of headaches with such information on the PC - one would think a phone essentially running linux would also have some info like that.
Edit:Uninstalled the bloatware I'll never use when I first got phone - alogcat is showing a lot of warnings relating to the apps which are now "missing" on top of quite a few other errors/warnings etc. Disappointed - why can't US cell have untouched Android OS on its best phone

After several successful app downloads, installs and activations, I find that when I download an app, it gets downloaded and installed, but no widget appears, so I'm unable to activate/use it. The widget appears as an installed application, but I still cannot activate it. I can uninstall them, but not activate them.

Google sky maps have done it. Moviefone has done it. Firefox has done it. Its like it going through my list uninstalling each app in its on time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just opened the Market to see whether any apps of mine needed updating and "My apps" shows that I have only 7 apps installed--and that doesn't include Gmail, Google Voice, Google Search, etc. I realize that this may be unrelated to Motorola or the Droid X, but you never know. Just thought I'd ask to see if anyone else is noticing this. Perhaps Google is in the process of updating the Android Market?

He pointed me in the direction of this forum, which helped me to fix the problem by uninstalling the desktop manager and reinstalling it without selecting the Enterprise Server option.Finally my problem was solved and it felt so liberating
I use my BB for work and I send a lot of SMS messages to clients that need to be recorded. I was forwarding those SMS's as emails to myself so that I could print a hard copy for the file, but recently all of my emails are failing, so it seems I can no longer send email messages from my BB.
I came here to try to find a solution, but I just can't seem to find one, I did however find a link to txtForward which I downloaded in trial version, but it didn't work - while I got the emails on my BB they weren't appearing in my Outlook inbox despite all the settings being correct. The absolute worst thing is that since then I'm getting the dreaded RIM messages again and I have absolutely no idea why

I've discovered a really annoying bug with the text messaging app where I'll find that it will have scrolled all the way up to the top of the thread at times which is really annoying.
I have been trying to recreate the problem and the last time it was doing it was when I came out of being locked straight to an SMS thread and it will be at the top. I could scroll all the way back down and if I angle the phone so that it switches to landscape, then back to portrait it will then go back up to the top of the thread.
Has anyone else ran into the annoying problem of ending up at the top of an SMS thread when you didn't want to?
after update on my bravo i had a lot of issues, so i did a factory reset and seems to run fairly well now. My android system is running at 100% and im not quite sure what to do?

i have a brand new motorola bravo bought from att (android 2.2). when i make phone calls, i can see the call going out and it even shows 'active call'. but i cannot hear anything and also, the other person cant hear my voice. so, basically, no voice is going in and out during a phone call. same for incoming calls: i can see the call coming and when i accept, it shows 'active call' but no voice is going in and out.
music and Internet work fine. i can hear the phone ring when a call comes. so, fundamentally the phone's sound system works fine.....
