Does someone know of a program that can speak the name of the caller just like every nokia does?
I have tried voice id caller and smsreader and neither works.
Voice id caller at least sounds a prefix you can customize, but not the actual name of the caller. I wonder if it depends on a specific ringtone. My ringtone is a minute long.
Mine is a all new Motorola Atrix 4G. Its since 2 months i had purchased.Since two days it started to give issues while talking calls. I am not able to hear the voice of caller. But the caller was able to hear properly without any issues.However, When I try to call any customer care phones, I am able to hear the automated voice too.It does not to make sense to me why I am not able to hear the callers' voice (only if it is humans).

This happens after I have connected to the other caller and after at least 10 - 30 seconds of conversation. It happens when I have a strong signal (5 - 6 bars) and even when I am stationary. Ultimately, the other caller can usually hear me again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedPreviously with my HTC phone, the solution was to create a new "phone" contact and link it to the exisiting google contact. However I am unable to create a standard "phone" contact, instead only gives option to save as google, yahoo or att phone book, all 3 of which produce low res pics. I've tinkered with diff ways to save contact photos, different account settings, contact list settings, etc for hours and can't seem to get a clear image. I am not particularly interested in any of the market apps for caller ID, and I need google to sync my contacts regularly so would prefer to keep this feature enabled.

Lately (ever since the update to .83 I think, but I can't be 100% sure) this has gone weird on me, announcing "Call from <caller's name or number>...head north...head north...." Because I always do what my phone tells me to I am now seriously considering moving to Canada.It's an inconsequential problem at worst, but I just thought I'd report it here. It is always the same: two repetitions of "head north." Note that Navigation is not loaded or running when this occurs (according to both "Manage Applications" under Settings, and also Task Manager), and GPS is not on. Clearly, something in text-to-speech is corrupted. [Edit:] The problem continues to occur after reboot.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIve always had my wifi on that way when i enter a saved network or att hotspot it switches to wifi and i save on data useage. Well, sometime after the gingerbread update my wifi stopped working correctly. It would be on and show the wifi symbol but when two saved network locations, it would "connect" to the network but no data was being sent or recieved. I even tried it on an att hotspot and no luck. The wifi turns on fine and says it is connected but it hasno signal as indicated by the grayed out wifi signal bar. Now i read something that said to put the phone in airplane mode and thenturn wifi on and it should work fine, well i did that and it works as long as i stay in airplane mode. I dont see this as a fix but instead as only more evidence to an apparent problem. What good is wifi on a phone if i can only use it when the phone can no longer work as a phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLately I've noticed that I've been missing a lot of calls and texts, which I finally realized was from the phone not producing sounds. The only way I can get the speaker to work is to either remove the battery cover, or to apply pressure to the bottom of the cover while it is on (or pressing on the speaker grille) so I'm assuming it's some sort of physical connection issue. I don't understand why it would work with the battery cover off though if that was the case, so would a new battery cover fix everything? Or am I stuck with a vibrate-only phone until my next upgrade?

The voice input dialog pops up, but nothing that's said is heard and the input mode just reacts as if it just got silence.
I may have had the phone connected to my bluetooth speaker phone in the car at some point (or a headset), but I'm not 100% sure.
I will have a trip to Asia, but still would like to use my Atrix with wifi only when I was on my trip, so that I will not be charged the romaining service for either voice or data. I know I can disable my data service from the setup option, but no idea how to disable the voice service temporally?

People that I've called seem to think it's acceptable now (haven't been asked to repeat myself), but if asked to choose, they do still believe that the "off" setting provides a better sounding voice, i.e. less muffled.

I've also spent 4 days trying to figure out why I can't get my properly paired Atrix and handsfree speakerphone to voice dial at the touch of a button on the visor. Motorola's website of Atrix accessories says that it should work. I've tried several models and brands, and none worked properly. Today I found the solution! The Atrix won't voice dial if the phone is sleeping/locked.Once you enter your passcode or fingerprint, it works flawlessly.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently added Bluetooth to my 2011 Toyota Tacoma by installing: a Pioneer DEH-P6200BT, the handsfree steering wheel buttons, and a
PAC SWI-PS (interface between the steering wheel controls and the Pioneer). Everything works as expected except that the Voice Command button doesn't seem to do anything. I'm pretty sure the PAC SWI-PS is programmed correctly. the On Hook/Off Hook buttons work as do the audio control buttons. But the Atrix doesn't respond to the Voice Command button.
Is it possible change the voice recognition engine on the swype keyboard from Vlingo to google? For some reason it is not working after I updated my Vlingo to the latest version.

I'm having an issue when connected via bluetooth to my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I frequently get a "Voice Command Application has stopped unexpectedly" error. I then have to force close. Typically it's impossible to make or receive calls while connected. Other times everything works fine.I never had this error when I was connected via bluetooth to my previous car.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust recently my voice-dial over my bluetooth stopped working - when I hit the button on my headset, all it does it redial the last number I had dialed. I'm not aware of any phone updates since it last worked. I've powered the phone off and on and still no luck. It was bad enough when I had to "wake it up" in order to use it. This is very frustrating - when I'm driving, I'm on the highway. I'm not stopping regularly for traffic lights so I can dial!

Have noticed recently that when I talk or receive an actual phone call, the other persons voice seems to be distorted.
On normal phone sounds and music, it sounds fine, but actual phone calls, not good at all.
My old Nokia e65 had the option to say the contact name when I recieve a call, in my language (spanish) with an configurable interval of time.Does the Xperia Pro have this feature? I try the TalkBack option but that just say ALL the text in the screen but no the caller id's?
