Is there a way to put phone in standby/hibernate mode when say battery reaches 20% charge?
Sometimes my phone will last all nite without being charged while other nights it will be completely drained. Once drained I have no way to determine what was consuming the battery since all data is lost. Also its a pain not being able to make a call etc till I charge.
My Motorola Atrix 2, already OTA'ed to 2.3.6, sometimes doesn't turn on after I have put it in sleep (normal screen-off sleep). I push the power button and the screen goes off, then next time I need it, it's apparently dead. Actually it's not dead, because after I pull and reinsert the battery, it turns on, so the battery has still some juice in it. As of now, it happened only with the phone in airplane mode (hence, with me sleeping in the bed), so this may be a clue. Also my battery settings are set to maximum savings. Also, a couple times, it happened after I had just sleeped the phone, for I tried to turn it on after a few seconds and it was already frozen.
View 6 Replies View RelatedBefore the upgrade to ICS I had my WiFi Xoom set to turn off WiFi when put to sleep and restart it automatically when awakened. Now that it has been upgraded to ICS it doesn't do this - WiFi stays on. I can't seem to find out where to set it to do this under ICS. As a matter of fact, I can't remember how I did it with Honeycomb.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy WiFi settings are checked for WiFi to never sleep; however, when my screen is off and the phone is on Standby, after a short while the WiFi disconnects. When the screen is turned on, the WiFi again connects. I assumed that the Advanced WiFi setting of "Never Sleep" would prevent this allowing me to remain connected on Skype etc. while on Standby. Does this indicate a problem with the phone or am I missing something?I have done a factory reset but the problem still persists.
View 11 Replies View Relatedmy droid 3 screen wont turn on. i can see the notifacation light blink and feel it vibrate and if i slide the keyboard up that will light up but the screen stays black. only way to turn back on is to pull the battery. verizon said it wasnt a known issue and sent me a replacement and not even 24 hours into the new phone its doing the same thing.

When changing the alarm function hour, every time the alarm hour is advanced, the phone goes blank, you have to hit the power button, then slide your finger across the screen to unlock the screen which puts me back in the alarm. When I make another advance in get hour, the phone goes back to standby mode, but happens in other apps too. I have already tried resetting the phone to factory defaults, with the same results.

It is also not stable and it varies as I will use my phone light to moderate.in the night when i turn on the flight mode it decreases by 10%.When I do not turn on the flight ode it decreases by 12%I am using Eclair in Moto Defy with Motoblur in India.As per the update site it says that Q2 2011. Is it possible to provide a tentative month will be great to move to Froyo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOver the past two weeks, I have observed that my MOTOACTV has twice entered a Failure Mode in which current drawn from the battery in Standby if far higher than spec and even higher than playing music through wired headsets only. The cause is unknown, but may be related to another MOTOACTV Failure Mode - music player freak out. In the first instance, I left the unit in Standby at 70% charge and found 14 hours later that it had turned itself off - battery depleted. I powered it up, charged it and was surprised during my run to find that my SF200 wired headset line switch was functional again - the music player had not responded to the SF200 line switch for several days.
In the second instance, late on Tuesday night Feb 28, I noticed that the state-of-charge of my battery was sliding rapidly and placed it on the charger. After my morning run the next day, I charged it fully and monitored the battery. The result is charted in the image below. According to published specifications, the MOTOACTV should last 325 hours on one full charge. I have conducted extensive battery tests on my unit and have never been able to achieve a Standby discharge rate much better than 0.71%/hr or 140 hours full discharge equivalent. The Standby battery life spec should be revised. As published, it is misleading at best. In Failure Mode - Excessive Battery Drain in Standby, I measured a Standby discharge rate of 6.73%/hr or just under 15 hours of battery life in Standby on a full charge.
I do not know why my unit enters this Failure Mode. But I know I am not alone. AlmariaTeach is probably replacing his unit right now to remedy what looks like the same issue. But his device could not be cured by rebooting or factory reset, so it may have been a more advanced case. In both instances, a power-off reboot restored 'normal' Standby power use behavior and revived a non-functioning music player line switch to perfect working order.
I did the Jelly Bean update on my two month old Atrix HD yesterday. Then my apps started closing on their own and then the homescreen started doing the same thing. Tried to do a FDR and I have the little android guy on my screen now with what looks like a rotating atom in his belly and a blue progress bar below him. Been like this for several hours now and I even tried calling the Motorola people and I'm still where I was. Can anyone offer a solution before I take it back to where I bought it from to see if they will even replace it? I did the holding down the volume buttons simultaneously and then the power button, got the motorola logo and then goes right back to this annoying little android guy with the rotating atom in his belly.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo earlier today before I went in to school I put my phone in bedside mode (so that the led would not blink (I use berrybuzz, which is very bright)) then locked the keyboard and put it in standby, for added security, before putting it in my book bag. After 2nd period I got my phone out and it was hot, as if it had been continuously downloading something or playing a video. The screen was dim but never turned off. The battery, which was at 100% only 1 or 2 hours earlier, was drained to 1 bar. I checked to see if any apps were running, with no luck, and then pulled the battery out and left it out until about an hour ago or so. The phone is fine now, but I don't know what happened.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI went into Airplane Mode today using the widget. It turned off my Wifi (but not GPS?) and went into Airplane Mode just fine. Then when using the widget to turn Airplane Mode off I see my Wifi turn back on, but the Airplane Mode isn't removed. The only way I can find to actually take the phone out of Airplane mode is to hold the power button and toggle it from the silent/airplane/power popup.

Tower is not down, have had this issue at home as well but not as severe.. I have the new updated Android software and this is a refurbished phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I put my Atrix at the USB mass storage mode with connecting to a PC via USB cable, the App icons on the home screens disappeared immediately if the App was stored at the internal build-in storage (Not SD card). They will not be back on the home screens automatically after exited from USB mass storage mode. I have to put them back by myself.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIve always had my wifi on that way when i enter a saved network or att hotspot it switches to wifi and i save on data useage. Well, sometime after the gingerbread update my wifi stopped working correctly. It would be on and show the wifi symbol but when two saved network locations, it would "connect" to the network but no data was being sent or recieved. I even tried it on an att hotspot and no luck. The wifi turns on fine and says it is connected but it hasno signal as indicated by the grayed out wifi signal bar. Now i read something that said to put the phone in airplane mode and thenturn wifi on and it should work fine, well i did that and it works as long as i stay in airplane mode. I dont see this as a fix but instead as only more evidence to an apparent problem. What good is wifi on a phone if i can only use it when the phone can no longer work as a phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI love my Atrix HD but one key feature that is missing is the ability to enable and disable LTE mode. By that I do not mean just turning on and off data services. Many other Android phones have the ability to select the radio band that you wish to use. It gives the owner of the product the ability to move down to 3G or Edge service if he or she wishes. As it is now we are all forced into LTE mode.

View 1 Replies View RelatedToday may be the first time I attempted to transfer photos from my Atrix to the PC. I am running Windows 7 Pro-64bit. After connection via cable, I select USB Mass Storage for the USB connection. Windows throws up a box that asks "Do you want to scan and fix Removable Disk?" I select "continue without scanning. In Windows Explorer there appear to be far fewer folders on the card than when viewing in Astro, but I did not do an exhaustive check. Of immediate concern is that the Camera folder is not visible under DCIM, thus I can't retrieve my photos over the cable. Should I back up the card directly to the PC via microSD adapter then let Windows scan and fix next time over cable?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe app works normally in portrait mode (showing artists or songs or whatever I choose) but when I flip it to landscape mode, it just shows the blank grey/blue screen that is the background on the music app home page (where you can choose now playing, library, internet radio, etc.) and it just sits there... doesn't load anything at all.
This is an exceptionally frustrating problem for me as I use my Atrix with an HD dock and the cardock (meaning I have to basically unmount my phone from the car dock to get a different artist. If I use the (useless) music launcher in the cardock home page, I can get to the now playing screen and pick the "smart DJ" button to get a new list of songs, but it'd be really nice if I could choose an artist I wanted to listen to (or a playlist, or a song for that matter) without having to take my phone out of the cardock, flip it to portrait mode, and then place it back in the cardock (quite dangerous while driving I might add)
I seem to have gotten my music player in a permanent shuffle mode. From the home screen, I select my library, then the artist (I use artist view), then the album, then the first song in the list. If I let it play to the end or hit the "next" button, a random song in the list plays instead of the next song. I'm probably missing something simple but I can't figure out how to get it back to playing titles in order.

No matter what I have tried, the phone insists on going into landscape mode when in the dock. I need to have the dock in portrait mode, as thats the only way it fits on my dash without obstructing anything.

Start camera up and it displays Camera in Standby Mode. There is a Continue option available however when selected the standby mode message reappears. I have also noticed that the Image Sequence setting is ON and Im unable to change this setting.Have tried hard reset and have upgraded to latest 10.5 software. Have also spoken to Nokia support with no luck.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone was working fine last night but this morning I am unable to shut it down. The only way to shut down the phone at the moment is to take the battery out. I can start up my phone by replacing the battery but when I try to unlock it it won't work.
At start up it verifies the software then gives me options to Unlock, Emergency, or Cancel but it i cannot select any of these and I cannot scroll through any of the options. The phone eventually goes into standby ( black screen ) which I am unable to get it out of.
I can hear my messages coming through and and the screen lights up when calls come through but I can't answer the call as the keyboard won't work. The green light also stays on despite the phone not being fully charged.
normally if my phone was om extended Standby Mode and I wasn't using my phone, I wouldn't receive notifications from F.e. Facebook, Whatsapp etc. I haven't selected apps that should be active in extended mode. And now all of a sudden I'm getting notifications in extended Standby Mode even when I'm not using the phone and no apps are allowed to be active.

The Bluetooth radio would be left powered DOWN in this mode and would only be powered up when needed/on-demand. For PLACING a call, it would require the call be ORIGINATED from the PHONE, as opposed to from the earpiece, or handsfree (the bluetooth headset/ handsfree/ accessories would be left on). As for receiving a call, it would HAVE to be answered through the phone.When in the intermediate bluetooth power conservancy mode, the phone would powerup the bluetooth, and do a quick search for a preferred-paired bluetooth device immediately preceding connecting the call. I do not mind the fact that when in this Bluetooth power conservancy mode one would have to interact with the phone to answer a call, since most of the time i want to SEE who's calling anyway i do not use caller ID text to speech/announcement anyway as i do not like it from a privacy standpoint

I am currently having issues with my Atrix 4G since the start of the New Year (2012). I have had the phone since July with no problems, but not i hear and sense feedback, but it takes over a minute for the phone to reawaken from sleep mode (screen to turn on to the unlock screen).
Once it does, I see the cellular signal strength icon showing it was disconnected and trying to re-acquire the cell netwrok (not the wifi part, the AT&T part).
This long delay puts a real damper on how I can use the phone to make a quick call, or snap a random photo to capture a moment.
Once I'm in, however, it'll work fine for a while, and then if I am NOT using wifi, it may lock up the screen refresh (I get haptic and audio feedback on my taps until the buffer fills, but screen freezes and even turing the unit off does not shut the screen) and sometimes it'll be minutes before I see the cell signal thing do the same thing, or I just get tired of waiting and pull the battery.
if this is a settings thing or a hardware or OS issue. My phone is under warranty, but I don't want to swap it out without knowing if there's a fix. I hate to get a new phone and find out it's happening again.
I just bought Nokia e72 after researching online alot and was convinced that this is a great phone. I've been using it for couple of day now and overall I love it, but I do have one major issue. Every once in awhile it reboots itself, for no reason, then comes back to the standby screen. It does not seem to turn all the way off, but the screen goes black and I do see the word NOKIA on the background. This is very annoying. I have not noticed any patttern or certain thing I'm doing at the moment, just seems to be random. Does anyone have any idea what's causing it? Thanks in advance for any help / ideas.
