Motorola Atrix 2 :: Unable To Determine Current Location?
Apr 12, 2012
I am using my Atrix 2 only on WiFi (I have taken out of sim Card) in a foreign country.Google Maps, News and Weather apps are not able to determine my current location. Also, the stock weather widget inaccurately determines the location. Also when I go to google.com and yahoo.com from my browser, it goes to the customized page of the foreign country. Also, the location is enabled for WiFi and disabled for GPS. Since, I only using WiFi, using GPS is not useful.
I'm trying to import an free app to the Apple Configurator. Every time I attempt this I get the error message "Unable to determine current price of app."
I've tried creating a new Apple ID to download the app, swapping the Apple ID associated with Apple Configurator, different phones (I have 25 to deploy) and all with the same problem.
I can only find one other mention of this problem [URL] and there's no solution. I'm hoping somebody else will ahve experienced this and found an answer.
When I launch maps I have no problem looking through the maps with post codes etc but I cant find my current location, it searches for ages with no luck.I dont know what to do.
It just works sometimes. In the most of the time in the most places the Maps cannot determine current location. if the compass show the latitude and longitude Is it because Beidou GPS run by Chlna government blocks iPhone or what?
My weather widget started to show me "unable to contact location service to update your current location" message 2 days ago. It worked great till now, its really annoying.
I got my atrix 2 yesterday and it was set up in Erie PA at the Best Buy and when I post things to FB or my weather widget, it says I'm in Wesleyville PA which is not too far away but far enough to make a difference. How do I change this? I've trashed the widget and now just use accuweather but the FB posts are irritating me.
My GPS doesn't update my current location in nokia maps. However, i get a signal from 3 satellites. Is something wrong with my nokia maps? im using the nokia 5800.
i just got this bb 9300. I tried one of the application where you can find someone near your area/place. its shows on that specific run application that I am on the other side of the world. that application will only follow the current address of my mobile! im having a hard time of finding that and change it to my current location.
I came from the HTC One (M7) where the weather/time widget would update without the "location" being on. It updated with the network. So if I was at home, my weather widget would show info for my current location. If I was at work, I received the weather info for the current location, all without the need to have my location set to on. All this was accomplished through Verizon's network. Now with my LG G3, I can only have updated weather if I manually do it or if I turn the location setting on.
Does anyone else have this problem with the Maps app? If I map a location, then ask for directions to or from my "current location," the routes display immediately. But if I try to use any other location (for example, from my contacts), it displays a "Loading..." message and stalls. This happens even with a strong wi-fi connection. This is an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1 with Verizon. My Maps app is using the standard view without traffic.
Does anyone know where the pictures of contacts are stored? I naively thought that I could find them using the gallery app but that is not the case. It would be nice to have some of thoses photos available for reuse.
Various apps that I allow to use my current location very, VERY often report me being in the wrong place when at my house. I have wifi in my house so I'm obviously not going to use 3G.And when I say wrong, I don't mean like right up the street. I mean like 2 miles away across town. Anything I can do to fix that?
I have a home automation system that uses my phone's location to identify if I am home. But the problem is when I start using my ps4 (and when it is standby). My phone thinks I am about a block away, it always returns to my actual location, but ever 10-20 minutes it jumps back to that wrong location. This issue only comes up when my PS4 is plugged in and on or in standby. This is causing the home system to think i went away for a couple of minutes, arming my home.Â
Does anyone know if/how to change the storage location for music? For photo and video you can do via a setting from within app but I don't see such a setting from within music app.
I just bought a brand new iphone 4s and uploaded my old back up so I didnt have to ask around for people's numbers and such and have all my old stuff. The problem now is my current location will not work when using maps. What should i do?
Just want to ask if 5800 will be able to determined the text messages came from in the standby screen? is it like the samsung phones that you'll already know the person's name who texted you?
I've probably done 1000 miles of riding with this thing on and it still thinks cowboy junkies would somehow improve my performance . I've never listenned to half the stuff in the playlist and a bunch of it is really slow paced...
I have noticed that the searching location comes on and stays on even when location is turned off the only way I can stop is by turning location on then back of again. How do I fix that?
I was just wondering if I went ahead and bought a blackberry curve 8900 off ebay is there anyway i could just put my current sim card in the bb and use my current plan. I dont want the data charges. By the way I have at&t. What about buying an unlocked 8900? would that help? I want the blackberry without the data plan, and i dont want at&t to just charge me for data.
