View 1 RepliesThe map doesn't show my current location unless I perform a search or turn on navigation.
It shows my location when I last performed a search, which is likely in another city.

Various apps that I allow to use my current location very, VERY often report me being in the wrong place when at my house. I have wifi in my house so I'm obviously not going to use 3G.And when I say wrong, I don't mean like right up the street. I mean like 2 miles away across town. Anything I can do to fix that?

View 6 Replies View Relatedi just got this bb 9300. I tried one of the application where you can find someone near your area/place. its shows on that specific run application that I am on the other side of the world. that application will only follow the current address of my mobile! im having a hard time of finding that and change it to my current location.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI came from the HTC One (M7) where the weather/time widget would update without the "location" being on. It updated with the network. So if I was at home, my weather widget would show info for my current location. If I was at work, I received the weather info for the current location, all without the need to have my location set to on. All this was accomplished through Verizon's network. Now with my LG G3, I can only have updated weather if I manually do it or if I turn the location setting on.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else have this problem with the Maps app? If I map a location, then ask for directions to or from my "current location," the routes display immediately. But if I try to use any other location (for example, from my contacts), it displays a "Loading..." message and stalls. This happens even with a strong wi-fi connection. This is an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1 with Verizon. My Maps app is using the standard view without traffic.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using my Atrix 2 only on WiFi (I have taken out of sim Card) in a foreign country.Google Maps, News and Weather apps are not able to determine my current location. Also, the stock weather widget inaccurately determines the location. Also when I go to google.com and yahoo.com from my browser, it goes to the customized page of the foreign country. Also, the location is enabled for WiFi and disabled for GPS. Since, I only using WiFi, using GPS is not useful.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a home automation system that uses my phone's location to identify if I am home. But the problem is when I start using my ps4 (and when it is standby). My phone thinks I am about a block away, it always returns to my actual location, but ever 10-20 minutes it jumps back to that wrong location. This issue only comes up when my PS4 is plugged in and on or in standby. This is causing the home system to think i went away for a couple of minutes, arming my home.Â

I don't know if others are affected by this but Verizon seems to have pre-installed Accu-Weather as my phone's weather source for weather alerts and such. Whenever there's a weather alert I get a scroll across the top of the screen letting me know. I can't find "Accu-Weather" anywhere in the app manager to force close this annoying thing and there seems to be no way to disable this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI really like the Accuweather app. However, I find that even though i definitely want the notification at the top bar of the screen (ongoing notification), i do not want the entire bar that goes across the Lock Screen as it blocks my Lock Screen wallpaper, which I want to see. How to have the ongoing notification but not the Lock Screen notification bar across the Lock Screen wallpaper?

View 5 Replies View Relatedwhen i am on a call, the lock screen shows the phone number and the length of time i have been on the call.is it possible to change this, so that the lock screen shows me the current time (like it does when i am not on the phone)?
currently, the only way to bring up the current time is to (1) hit the home button (brings up phone controls), (2) slide to unlock, (3) hit home again (to get to enter passcode screen), and (4) enter passcode to see time in green bar at the top of the screen. it's a cumbersome process.

See image. The current temperature doesn't show in Notifications in iOS 8, nor did it show on iOS 7. I can't remember before that. For Android users, the temp is on the lock screen. I have to unlock, make sure I'm on the home screen, then hit the weather app. Why?!Â

Additionally when I go to Menu of the maps I see Please sign in at the top but its not clickable. How to sign in ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have owned a galaxy s6 edge for three or four months now and for the last month or so, the location setting has been turning itself on. I have noticed that this only happens when I have some form of internet connection (4g or wifi).
I checked the location services menu and it says that no apps have recently requested my location so why this is turning on. I have also moved my location quick setting to the end of the scrollable quick settings so there is no possibility of turning it on accidentally.
I don't want it to know where I am (data protection and all that).
Android version : 5.1.1
I have searched for Galaxy S6 GPS problems in google, and I have noticed that some owners experience a lot of signal loss/searching in their phones. What I have found annoying in my case is that whenever the GPS signal is lost, Google Maps puts me in a wrong location that I have not been to for a while. I have lived in that location before, but I have since moved and no longer stay there. I have purchased the phone after moving.
After a bit of experimenting I came to the conclusion that the building I currently live in blocks the GPS signal, since whenever I am in the balcony/near a window I get a signal and I'm put in the correct location in Google Maps. As soon as the signal is lost, Maps automatically puts me in that old location. This has also effected Google Now where I'm given incorrect travel times, but not my weather location (set on current).
I have set 'Home' to my new location, I have also tried deleting my location history from google, tried a few GPS fixing apps, reinstalling Maps, and also installing other map applications like Here and Waze, which behave the same way and give me the same old location as my current.
At first I thought it could be a GPS hardware defect in the galaxy, but I turned on my old HTC One (M8) and it acted and behaved in the same way putting me in my old location. So it seems to me there's something in the Android OS perhaps since Here and Waze act in the same way. I also tested with the Maps app on iPhone 6 and it gave the correct location although not 100% accurately. So is there anyway I can make Maps at least remember my last location before signal loss?
It is also absurd that my laptop can pinpoint my correct location while connected on Wifi while my phone with GPS, wifi and cell network cannot, which in conclusion seems like an android bug or something with location history in my google account which as I said already tried deleting the whole history.
Also note that the GPS and Maps work perfectly fine whenever I'm outside the building and I have location discovery on GPS, Wifi and cell network.
