Lumia 950 XL :: Overheating From Normal Usage
Jan 29, 2016Absolutely loved the Lumia 950XL when I first set hands on it, only to be disappointed after one day after the other.Apart from the weak battery life, OS crash with reboot, premium quality case creaking... There has been a matter troubling me a lot if this phone is to last for a couple of years. Towards the lower half of the screen (I assume that is where the CPU is), the heat given of is almost unbearably hot to touch (Like gliding your finger tip across a boiling kettle). Occasionally the incense of burning plastic is given out too. Normal usage being browsing on Edge, checking mail and texting, skyping and listening to music.
All in all, it has been a downhill ride, either it might be holding too high expectations for a premium budget phone, or that my suspicions of defective hardware are true.As much as I would like to return for refund, the new windows 10 OS is holding me back, wish there would be more choices for a phone with this OS and hardware specs, but a more long standing and reliable manufacturer.
Nokia Lumia :: 920 Overheating, Drivers Not Installing?
Dec 1, 2012I have just received my new Lumia 920 today.. Coming off a bad relationship with the E-7, the Lumia Looks good and feels good..HOWEVER, I have noticed that when holding the phone in my hand it gets quite hot? As well as the charger plug heats up considerably after about a hour.. Another issue I have encountered is that the drivers do not seem to want to work, im running windows vista, (not that great i suppose) but if i upgrade my OS to Win8 would it make any difference to the use of the phone?

Dec 6, 2015I've had the Lumia 950 XL for about a week now. I was a bit concerned about overheating given the past history of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, but I did not have any problem until today. I was taking photos and shooting short two- or three-minute videos when the phone started becoming hotter and hotter. In the middle of a video I got an "overheating" alert on the screen and the phone rebooted on its own. After that it kept rebooting every 5 or ten minutes for a few times before stabilizing again. Now it's back to normal, but if taking a few videos is enough to bring the 950 XL down on its knees, it's definitely a show-stopper.

Nov 11, 2014I've encountered a brand new issue that's occurred now for 3 days. My phone was found extremely hot a few days ago and battery was draining almost 10% per minute or 2. I immediately powered it off to cool down. Every since then my phone heats up very quickly and very hot after only a few minutes of basic use. Similarly as if I'd been playing a very graphic intensive game for a 20-30 min session.
This is definitely not normal. In fact, when I do try to play a game within seconds it begins to lag or freeze which I can only assume because it's heated up so much and so quickly

Sep 18, 2011ive bought Xperia Game cus there had a joystick and look good for gaming ... and when im playing to ( Eternal Legacy HD or Asphalt 6 HD ... ) and more game that have good grafic , the phone can restart alone between 5 min - 1 hour ... also restarting from playing some lower grafic like Spectral soul and some other .. they are all compatible with xperia play and ive bought those game ( Android market or Gameloft ) ive also read some ppl have this bug from playing Bruce Lee !!! . do the Xperia play will have update to fix that soon ?

Is there any kind of way to have my music playing in the background while I'm playing a game, without it stopping everytime I start over?? I don't think I ever listened to muisc the past while gaming; if I did, I don't remember. When I'm playing BUBBLE SHOOTER, NOT BrickBreaker (sorry errbdoy, I put dwn the wrong name), the music plays until I hit the 'Start New Game' button. It just pauses. I've tried putting my phone on Vibrate and even Silent, but it still cuts off. My music will play while I'm actually playing the game, but once I lose and hit the button to play the game again, it stops, and I have to go back to Now Playing and resume

However, even though they've also bumped the specs, I am worried that the 4x increase in resolution is gonna hinder game performance and thus put the graphical qualities of games at a standstill.I mean anyone who is a PC gamer knows how much the performance of a game can drop - It's like the difference in performance of playing Crysis on 1600x1200 versus 800x600.
I'm curious to see what games will look like, but I have a bad feeling that this could make future iPhone 4 games look even worse graphically. Sure, everything will be crisper, but obviously there is a lot more to a game graphically than resolution.
Xperia PLAY :: Unlock The Screen Using Gaming Buttons?
Sep 6, 2010I woke up this morning to find that the screen on my Xperia Play had stopped working. However, after a couple of restarts it began working again.
Now when the screen stopped working I began to panic as I am awaiting a phone call about my start date for a new job.
So when the phone screen was temporarily not working, I slid out the game pad to see if it was possible to unlock the phone and enter the pin unlock for my sim card by using the PS keys and dPad.
Successfully, by pressing a combination of the MENU button and another button I actually got to the screen which required me to enter my pin - from which I could have done successfully using the dPad and 'x' button.
Unfortunately, before I got to enter my pin the screen locked and I didn't quite catch the key combination in order to get back to the same pin unlock screen.
HTC One M8 :: Sounds From Removed Gaming Apps Left Behind In Phone
Jun 5, 2014I have recently discovered that sounds from a gaming app I just uninstalled got mixed in the phone's Music app, so that every time for example I play a non-playlisted track there is a tendency that these annoying sounds (like machine gun fire, whatever you hear from gaming apps) get next on the playlist.
So my questions are
1) how come, when i uninstalled the gaming app (I only had one), the tracks still remained behind ?
2) why on earth in the first place do these sounds get mixed with my other songs in the Music app anyway ?
I know I can simply just delete them (I will do that), but I'd like to know how to prevent such a tedious process in the future since there are literally 100+ tracks for this single app

I ask because I think it would be fun to be able to run some of my Steam games over a buddy's house on my Xoom without having to pack up my laptop but I am not sure if the programs can keep up. I know that there is software capable of doing such (Onlive [I realize this is a subscription service and different context]) but was wondering if we can accomplish this on our own yet via one of the many programs in the Market.

Jul 18, 2014I have the icon and have experienced the GPS freezing up on me during a trip. This has happened both with here drive and waze.
Once it happened not five minutes into the trip, the other times were over an hour in. How to correct it?

Lumia Icon :: No Data On 3G
Oct 5, 2014New to the icon. Got it on Thursday. Promptly loaded 8.1 developer and ran all the updates. I'm not blown away, but it's nice, I'm not running back to my G2 yet. However I went up north yesterday and as soon as I lost 4g I lost all data. No MMS pics coming through and no weather, Internet.... Made crystal clear phone calls and texts went through, but no data. Played with the network settings but could never get it to go. Others with Verizon, at&t, and cellcom carriers had no issues. HTC, iPhones, motos, none had issues.
So is there an issue with 8.1 developer? Bad phone? Recommended settings for data all the time? I have data roaming options set to roam. Tried GSM and the CDMA settings under the sim card and no changes. Tried rebooting the phone between changes and no luck.

Jul 29, 2014Just took the leap from IPhone to the Nokia Lumia Icon despite all the criticism from friends and family who are avid IPhone users. I was a little unsure at first and nervous but when I opened that thing up it was amazing. So about two hours into playing with it I wanted to try my hand at putting music on it. So I plugged it into my computer, nothing, I read everything online about how to do it, and so I kept trying the computer and still nothing. Ehhh I'll figure it out later. I go to charge it at night, nothing. So to make a longer story a little shorter, I took it back to Verizon to get a new one not even 24 hours after I got it. Now I'm super nervous about having an Icon, but so far this is day 3 and I'm loving it. I have all my music on it but I wanted to know if there was anyway to back up the music I have to my computer or is that just something I need to use SkyDrive for?
