Mar 19, 2012The n8 has a minimum shutter speed of 1/15s in the default camera (from what I have read). With CameraPro, you can get it down to 1/5s (although I am sure I saw 1/2.5s). I would love a bulb stop, but a multi second option would also be great. Night shots could be enhanced - for example car headlight trails, star pics (ie. astrophotography).
Anyone know the 808 minimum shutter speed?

Oct 28, 2010The designers of the N8 left out a HUGE camera setting, and that is the ability to directly control the shutter speed.
Right now the N8 cannot do things my old Sony Ericsson C905 can do, and that is slow down the shutter speed to take long 1sec+ photos at night.
So, you will never be able to use a tripod and capture tail lights from cars like this effect. I hope this gets address with a software update. Nokia is crippling this Carl Zeiss optics with limitations.

Nov 16, 2012I am consistently disgusted on how dumb the focus on the 808 is. I have countless photos where everything on screen is blurred out even with focus light on and Human faces detected by the actual camera. Sometimes I have to touch focus 3 times to get a non retarded full screen photo. And consistently the shutter speed is too slow for clear photos. This is all on default automatic mode.

Aug 4, 2014Just updated my phone to 5.1, when pressing the shutter button for quick way to take pictures, it now takes 30seconds for camera to come on screen then flickers and won't take a picture. Is there anyway I can reverse this upgrade as it has not improved anything on my phone, it is still very hard to hear when ringing or playing music and now I can't take pictures correctly.

At first it worked great and I had no problems with it, but a few months ago as I started to use the camera more and more, the shutter started getting stuck. It can happen at the worst such as when I'm at a concert or a family party. I usually have to restart the phone, re-open any app that uses the camera, and close it out.
My girlfriend got her Lumia 1020 before I did, but she always had the problem. I have also tried resetting the camera.

It just that happened that when I hard reset my phone today(May 28, 2015), and launched the default camera, it freezed, so I tried the soft reset. After that, I launched the default camera again then it says "something went wrong" then I noticed that the shutter of my camera won't close and the camera part became hotter and hotter. Apr 28, 2014I get very obvious scanlines when I use a 4 second shutter speed when I want to take pics of the night sky, or very dark rooms without using flash. My past Lumia 720 did a much better job and could actually take photos of the night sky with the stars and clouds, even at midnight.
Here are some examples.

Pictures taken with a shutter speed of less than 2 seconds come out fine, and daylight photos are flawless.

Dec 4, 2015My former Android phone had an app that was able to speed dial one of 8 people even when the phone was locked. It appeared on the lock screen and was able to dial one of 8 numbers with a single press and swipe. It dialed based on the direction of the swipe.
Is there something similar for Windows 10 Phone? I'd rather not need to unlock the phone in order to dial one of my most called contacts.
It doesn't have to be an app that behaves exactly like this. Just curious how others have efficiently handled speed-dial.

Dec 25, 2012I've had my Lumia 920 for about a month now - it is a German Vodafone model. As of today while I was out at work I went to use it to send a text and they keyboard would no longer change orientation when I flipped the phone sideways. Nothing would rotate anymore, photos, web pages; its as if the rotation setting is not working. I looked to find one but I can't. I've heard a few issues on various forums like WPcentral about this and that it might be a software bug, and a search of this forum has another user whose rotation doesn't work, but I don't know why this would have just started, and I've tried hard resets and soft resets and nothing seems to fix it.I would really like some information about this or a possible fix, as this is really killing the useability of the phone - that along with the random restarts which happen several times a day on average.
