Received my Lumia 950 XL with Windows 10 last week, and all so far so good. However, I have a few clients that a visit regularly that use hidden WIFI networks or networks that do not broadcast. These normally have to be setup manually on the device, but I can't find anywhere in Windows 10 phone settings to deal with a manual wifi connection setup?

If I turn off broadcasting, I know its still there - I have laptops and an iPhone that still find it an can connect to it. But my new RAZR doesn't seem to know how to locate/connect to it .
What settings do I need to change to get this to work.
I can't connect to my network, i have broadcasting off. I didn't see any advance features on the phone to avoid this.

I have a lumia 1320 and have a wifi router in my home...it was all fine and it was connecting well with the router..
yesterday i went to the store for some other problem and flashed the mobile..
Now am not able to connect to the wifi...
"can't connect:the wifi network didn't respond"
But when i tried connecting my friends mobile...it worked.the problem is with my lumia 1320...
Don't know if it's just me, but occasionally I'll get my Wi-Fi tab (in Action Center and Settings) reporting that networks are "available" but it can't connect to any. Even my own network to which I connect all the time.
I have discovered that after a Reboot everything is back to normal. Wi-Fi connects fine.
I seem to have isolated it to when you leave a premises still connected Wi-Fi and let it drop-off you get this behaviour.
But surely you shouldn't have to turn Wi-Fi off every time you leave a place!!!
Is there a known issues with the 950XL (or Win 10 in general) regarding wifi stability. My 950XL refuses to stay connected to the 5.0GHz wifi network. After reboot it will find and connect to the network fine, but after about 10 to 15 minutes the connection drops. When I go to the available wifi list, all the 5.0 GHz networks are missing and only the 2.4 GHz ones are offered. The only way I have found to get the phone to find the 5.0 GHz ones was forcing a reboot.

On my iPhone 3G it never shows up, though after I scan for networks using Stumbler (Stumbler says it's not hidden btw) it appears in the settings. So I click on it and it says "Cannot connect" (or something along those lines) and after the third try it disappears again. I tried using SpoofMAC to spoof my mac address to 11:11:11:11:11 and that didn't work.

I am thinking it is a password issue but the phone never asks me for my password. The wi-fi is locked so it needs a password. I do not have this problem with my laptop or my Ipad so I know the wi-fi network is working correctly. I just can't figure out how to get the phone to ask me for my password. It should do it without any prompting, but for whatever reason it does not.

I'm with a data plan that isn't full data. I can only use Twitter/Facebook/IM Services. No email or browsing. When I want to use these things I connect to my home wifi and use that. Is there a way to connect my iPhone 4s to my wifi network without the password? This is my home network but unfortunately it was setup years ago and I have no way of getting the password for it. I've been able to connect my laptop to it without the password by pushing the button on the netgear router but it does not work when I try with my phone. My laptop and desktop are both connected and have iTunes so I was hoping I could do it that way but I've had no luck. I've also had no luck resetting the router and I'd rather not buy a new one.

The Network Key is good. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a home WiFi network and can connect my BB 8520 curve to it successfully and it is able to browse and use apps etc. How-ever everyday or two even though it remains connected to WiFi it suddenly is not able to browse. I need to restart the BB or Router or both and then it reconnects and can browse again. What could be causing this ?I am unable to add or be added to other BB's in terms of using the IM. Contacts that I am trying to add remain in pending (waiting for authorization).
