I have a Lumia 822 and while I really like it and most of the features I am getting tired of accidentally triggering Bing every time I use the phone. Is there a way to disable the button completely or make it necessary to hold it for a couple of seconds to activate it?
I got an Icon from an eBay store, called "reconditioned" but looked new to me. I used it for a day or two and then enabled PFD (couldn't go another day without it :) and the next day noticed the search button no longer lit up. Finally did a hard reset but no diff. So: hardware failure, return for replacement (they're good about that) or possibly software, wait for Denim?
When I press Bing search button which is on the right side of Windows button, it loads the IE desktop version of Bing instead of the Bing App. I tried with some setting chage in Region+Language and Location as per Microsoft Answer blog but all went in failed, how to bring back my Bing Search app
I've just changed my N79 for an N86. my N79 had a useful search function in the main menu, which enabled me to search through the phone for particular files etc.As far as i was aware, the N86 also had this, as i noticed it on a couple of internet reviews. However, it's not on the phone.i thought it might be in applications> office or in tools, but it's not there. Does anyone know why and if you can download it?
Am I the only one around who misses the search function in messaging? Upgrading from HTC one I thought this is obvious function which should be included.
I became the proud owner of a G3 about a week or so ago and there is just one gripe I have with it..why is it not recognizing my bluetooth headphones? Pretty sure I'm doing everything correctly that I did with the last phone I had (Alcatel One Touch Evolve). Am I the only one with this issue? Pardon me if a similar thread has already been posted, couldn't find the search function on the mobile version of this site (either that or it's right in front of my face) , anyway, if a similar thread has been posted, just post the link or whatever and I'll go from there.
For some reason, my Spotlight Search function stopped working sometime yesterday afternoon. So did the Search function on my iMessage. But the Search function on others e.g., Calendar seem fine.
I have lost the search function - the little magnifying glass in my itunes. It also says I have no purchase history - which I have. I have checked the restrictions and all is ok there. Not sure how to go about buying music off my phone without the search facility.Â
This is something that's really getting on my nerves now. Everytime I use the Google search feature on my phone I get directed to the Dutch version instead of the English version. This has happened on a number of A200 platform phones i've owned. It seems to be a browser problem but I can't find any setting to change the default language. Anyone know of a way to sort this apart from bookmarking the English version of google.
When I am on the home page and I quickly press the center button the "app drawer" used to open up but that has recently changed for me. When I quickly press on the center button and I am at the home screen now nothing happens. get the previous functionality back?If it makes any difference I am using Solo Launcher and I have KitKat 4.4.4
For months it worked correctly.but suddenly it is not working .on click it does nothing.i have latest version of map 3_6 with updates installed.i am using nokia x6 with latest firm ware installed.
Just got my M8 Friday and I absolutely love it so far. However, both me and my husband have tried tirelessly to find how to search Google, or the Play Store, or other places in the phone with a search bar. We came from the Droid Razr (talk about an upgrade!) and that had a "GO" button to tell Google to search more than just the drop-down, suggested searches results. Is there anything on the M8 that is equivalent - to make Google actually search what you typed in, rather than having to choose from suggestions (which usually aren't what you want)?
Yes, I am the one who likes to photo herself with a mobile phone (and not to post in anywhere on the web, yeah, not even a facebook)
and, sincerely, it is really difficult to take picture of oneself if a camera button is ON the touch screen, it is tricky and 7/10 times I accidentaly press something elese and not the camera button, and it just takes me to the side menu.
Is it possible to take on/off button or zoom/volume button (the only physical buttons on the phone) and reassign one of them to be a camera button?
during the underwater photography as well. I have Defy, non US, retail en DE firmware 2.2.2
The button that is currently associated to the Calendar, is there a way to associate it to the Camera function?Where do you turn the sound off on the Camera?
I found the SF200 manual and it points to the multi-function button (or MFB) but it does not say what it can do or how to change what it does. I have also searched the knowledge base and the forum. Can someone please point me to any information on how I might change what this button controls? It appears to only control one feature - it is currently set to pause/play and I would like to control forwarding to the next song instead.
I'm having a strange issue which I have not found on any forums.Up until yesterday I had a Droid X, which was working fine until the speaker had an issue. So, I did a factory reset. First one ever since going to Gingerbread. Since then, if I use the hard button to search for contacts the results always send me to the same contact. For example: Lets say I have contacts John Smith, Larry Jones, and Susan Doe.Search for Doe, shows me Susan Doe's name, click on her name...and John Smith opens up.Search for Jones, shows me Larry Jones' name, click on his name...and John Smith opens up.No pattern as to why it's John Smith. Not first in the contact list or anything. And, if I delete John Smith, then another contact becomes the 'go-to' contact. Again, no pattern as to why.
So, why is this in the Droid X2 forum? Because I didn't worry too much about this issue since I was getting a new phone, a Droid X2. Got the new phone, set it up...and the same issue is in this one. I did not import any contacts directly from the one phone to the other using VZW or Gmail. All contacts are loaded via DejaOffice/Companionlink. Very frustrating, since the hard button was how I would bring up my contacts.
About a month ago, my new nokia 5800 which i recieved on a plan using virgin fell into water. I bought a new one from a website called topbuy.com.au, which came from Hong Kong, although claimed to be made at the same factory as all the other phones. When i received my new phone, i was suprised to see that everything seemed to be in order, and that it all looked fine. When i started the phone i noticed many problems with my layout. It all seemed very awkward, and the Add button for the quick contact function was large. I also had 2 buttons saying telehpone and contacts at the bottom of the screen instead of the 2 icons that were there on my older phone. I also do not have the full screen qwerty keyboard available, or atleast cannot find it, when i want to text. Another small thing i noticed was that when i scrolled through with the stylus, for example through the messageing menu, instead of stopping at the top or bottom it would keep scrolling untill i stopped.
My LG G3 is stuck in safe mode. The volume down button does not function anymore. Every time I restart the phone it goes right back to safe mode.. Is there any other way to get it out of safe mode?
Im trying to clean my mailbox out - I have loads of newsletters that come in.Â
I have a gmail and hotmail account on the phone.Â
In the search, I type a search term like "agoda" and all the Agoda emails come up.
When I hit edit (in order to make each one have a radio button that I can touch to select that email and delete it), not all of them have the radio button.
If I do cancel out and try again, even less radio buttons come up.Â
Can the Menu button on the home screen be reconfigured for another function? It seems redundant to me to have this and a Home button that have the same function...
There is no shortcut for search with the menu button after the ICS upgrade. Is there any solution to it? I had already asked it before on my previous post but didn't get any reply yet.
I just go my Droid Razr Maxx two days ago, and after installing a few apps, I tried performing a search in the All Apps screen. An error message popped up saying The application Home-screen (process com.Motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. try again. and then the Homescreen reboots and everything works except in the All Apps.
Whenever i press the search button while i am in apps screen in my razt xt910, it gives me "Sorry! The application Home-screen (process com.motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. try again". It than takes me to the home screen after a sizeable pause.
lately my nokia lumia 900 has been pushing the back button and home butting while i'm watching videos. its really frustrating when watching Internet videos and i already have to wait for them to buffer and if it decides to push the back button i have to wait again.
