Today my Lumia 1520s battery level suddenly dropped 89% to 81% in 10 minutes, then I made a soft reset and the battery level was 82%. Again after 15 minutes I took a look in the battery level and it was 73%.
View 24 RepliesMy 1520 has been driving me nuts lately. I'll be using it and then it was start going crazy. For example, I'll be watching a video and suddenly it will start vibrating as is I'm hitting the navigation keys and it will act as if someone has hit the back button a few times, then the home button, and then Cortana. It always freezes after this and I either have to wait 10 minutes or so to get the touch screen or navigation buttons to respond (volume, camera and lock button all work fine), or I have to soft reset the phone. Sometimes I can go a few hours and be fine, sometimes it will start doing this every 10 minutes.
It started doing it shortly after I got the 8.1 update, so I thought it may be related. I did a hard reset and then used the Nokia recovery tool and am still having the problems.
Every time my phone reaches around 10% it instantly drops to 3 or 4% then instantly after that to 1%... So basically I have to charge my phone before it gets to 10%. Not that big of a deal, but it is annoying not being able to do anything with it when it's at low battery and I'm away from a charger.
I'm trying to charge my phone before it gets that low from now on so I won't shorten my battery's lifespan so I can't comment on if the issue persist, but I will say that the calibration has made the battery to act less weird as far as dropping fast in certain areas but not others.
I just got this used blackberry bold 9780. At about battery level 30-50%, the battery level will plunge to 1% within minutes. And it will stay at 1% for the rest of the day. Today, the battery indicator was working fine till the battery was about 30%, then the phone just died.

However, recently a problem occurred with the battery in a sense that it sometimes suddenly goes from 30-ish % to 0 instantly, therefore causing my phone to shut down with no warning. Also, after this happened, I cannot just plug in the phone to the charger, because for some reason it does not charge. I have to remove the battery and then put it back in again before I can charge it. This has been happening almost daily and I don't know what the cause is. The phone is not rooted or tampered with in any way.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Lumia 1520, and everything is awesome, but lately, the phone acts up in the way that the 3 buttons get pushed out of a sudden and screen becomes unresponsive, when not even holding the phone. Restarting works, but only for a period of time. I noticed if the place where the sensor is, near the earpiece, is clean, it does not act up like this. Phone was dropped once, but the problem did not appear util very later - 1-3 months. I used the Nokia Recovery Tool to install and re-install the OS, problem is still there.

I have location, Hey Cortana and most background apps turned off and still get the drain. Also I just noticed while charging it takes forever, but when it get's to 40% it goes up to 100% in less than 10 min.

View 12 Replies View RelatedIt has been draining away quite quickly for some time now and I don't know why. I have researched online and I know about 'thirsty' apps but the only ones I have installed are the only ones I have ever used and I never had an issue with battery drain before. Phine is approx 5 months old bought brand new.
Today, for example, I unplugged it from its charge about 5 minutes before I left home, never used it in that 5 minutes and when I looked at it, the battery was on 97%.
I have had my phone since march. I really like it but lately I have to restart it about once a week. Yesterday the battery got really hot and it kept showing resume on the screen. I turned it off and then back on and it was fine. Other times it acts like the back button is being pressed all the time, and sometimes the phone is just unresponsive to anything. Restarting it seems to fix it but only for a short time.

It looked legit, says Nokia, came in decent looking packaging etc. It doesn't matter how long it's plugged in for, it won't go past 80% charge. Battery performance is good, at least compared to before the replacement. I'm just wondering if the phone is just reporting it wrong, or if there is something wrong with the battery.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI removed the bloatware by simply uninstalling it. Bluetooth off as well as any app that may drain the battery. I could go 24+ hrs before a recharge with minimal usage, but generally beat my phone up on a daily basis between 6am to midnight using Instagram, Facebook, phone calls, texting, Pandora, camera, and youtube and still have 40% battery life.... But that was before 8.1 and Cyan.... Now, at idle it drained 25% in 4hrs sitting next to me while I'm writing an essay!? I did the hard reset, I scrutinized the background apps, I have turned everything off and still draining as I have described....

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had Denim on my 1520 for a while now. (UK CV). Yesterday, I had extensive usage of the phone and it slipped into battery saver mode at 20% - an abnormal occurrence for me.
Anyway, when Battery Saver enabled, the backlight behind the Back-Start-Search keys went out. And I was using the phone in the dark, walking home.
Upon regaining power, the lights came back again.
I tweeted Lumia on the mysterious occurrence which definitely did not happen in Cyan. Their response today seemed to indicate a fixable software thing - soft reset, see what happens. I have yet to try that.
An easy way to see: Enable "Now until next charge" in Battery Saver. Doing this on mine immediately extinguishes the backlight on the capacitive keys.
Having problem when use phone streaming youtube or use camera several shots sometimes cause my phone suddenly shutdown. Before shutdown battery critically low popup appear. When I boot back the phone battery still have 30~50%.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI got a Nokia Lumia 1520 last week. Coming from an HTC One (M7), I am still impressed with the smoothness of Windows Phone OS -rarely I get any loading for an app. Moreover Metro has come a long way since the days of ZuneHD.
However I got a slight problem with the date/ time. Both the date and time gets reset back to 20 July 2013, 03:00 after the battery runs out or I try a soft reset.I already tried:
1) Setting the time on manual; it will reset back to manual time and the date/time above.
2) Setting the time on automatic, will still get reset back to manual and the wrong date/time.
3) Instead of setting the phone on 4G, I used the 3G and automatic. Same as above.
4) Setting the date manually and then to automatic, keeps the date/time I setup manually.
5) Turning the device off and on again (not soft reset with the volume key) will keep the date/ time regardless if it was set manually or manually and then automatically.
I just added a 32GB SD card to my Lumia 1520. I'd like to move some of the items that are on my phone (photos, music, files for work, etc.) onto the card.
Also, I've seen threads on here that mention issues with music that has been moved to the cards not being playable. I have enough issues with my phone giving error messages on the music app now without adding another complication.
I just went to watch a video on my 1520 and the sound won't work. I've tried restarting it multiple times but to no avail. When i push the volume rocker, only the head phone slider appears. I I've plugged head phones in and they don't work either.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently screwed my phone by placing the phone in window for network coverage during rain. As the rain water spilled over it and few drops got it and brought me some weird issue.
1) Capacitive lights are not working . Only back arrow light didn't work.
2) Mic also not working.
I take it to Nokia care and got it fixed without warranty since it is two year old.And the technician told be that he changed many spare parts and he make use of 1320 spare and got it fixed. And now I feel my phone is getting very hot while charging and warm during normal usage in the top right corner of back side. I don't see heating issue on my other Lumia 1320 and 640 xl

Only charges when plugged in, slow charging notification pops up.
No new hardware "ding" sound.
No new devices in device manager.
No devices with exclamation mark in device manager.
No unknown or unrecognized devices in device manager.
No devices listed in usb-view
Background : I was on Windows 10 build 10581. Upgraded to 10586. All fine.
Phone showed up and everything. However I wanted to go back to 8.1, so I started up the Windows Device Recovery Tool. It asked for a mandatory update. Updated. It recognized my phone (which was on). Started downloading server side software. I ran out of battery (the laptop), and it shut down. After starting up again, the phone is unrecognizable.
I unintsalled Windows Device Recovery Tool and tried to install again. Error. Several times. Finally after cleaning up everything related to it (RevoUninstaller), I managed to install it again. However, my phone still never is recognized. Uninstalled all Nokia/Microsoft drivers (no luck).
