I know that you can download apps manually by clicking on the link on the left side in the Windows Store (on PC), then you typically transfer that to a SD Card and you can have windows store on your phone recognize it on the SD Card on your p hone and you can install it.

I have Microsoft Account (Hotmail) for email and it syncs fine between phone and when I check email manually using browser. However when I add new email account for Yahoo and Google it doesn't sync right away and when I check email manually using browser the email is still there after few hours or the next day.

so i was trying to soft reset.but cant open settings as well then I have tried factory reset.
After i got my Windows Insider, I couldn't get my SIM - Card to work, so i read some of the forum threads and figured that since WP 1020 needed to reset the system to work properly i'd do that.
So i did.Problem was just, when i logged on my Windows Phone again, I couldn't find = Settings, Phone, Messages and several other features. My backup has gone missing too.
I've found recently my phone has been getting no updates at all from the store, Ive been manually pushing them from the store.
I've done a search on here and completed soft resets with repining the tile etc, and still doesn't seem to be working ...
What causes the store to stop pushing the updates?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a Lumia 1020 with Black update and my Store is perfectly doing fine showing updates available but recently, or maybe around 2 weeks or so, my Store does not show any updates. I always see many updates from WPCentral but I the store just does not show an available update. And it is tiring to go to the app itself and update it from there when the store can automatically get all available updates and prompt me to download all.
I tried soft reset, restore factory settings, have not tried hard reset because I do not want to. I am almost in a month now that my store does not give me available updates.
I'm on WP8.1 and haven't had an update for a few weeks however the week before last all of a sudden my phone started to run really slowly. Evening opening the camera app can take 10-20 secs sometimes before it starts and its highly annoying.I've tried restarting, soft reset (which works for a little), emptying temp files and not sure what to do. I have about 3.5gb of memory left on the phone, close all apps properly and don't have a more than around 20 3rd party apps installed so the apps themselves shouldn't be the issue.

During IE usage the battery drains extremely fast.
After 15 minutes it is very hot - I'm worried that a longer usage may do some harm to the phone due to the very hot temperature...
The back of the phone and the screen is getting very hot - I do not have the drain problem while not using the phone - it is cold while idle!
But I did notice, that other applications do also heat up the phone, but not as much as IE...

So on my Lumia 1020 the live tiles for the weather never update for any of the weather apps I have tried. (Amazing Weather, Weather Flow, etc). The only background apps I have running is the one for the weather app I am currently trying to use. I have sent logs to Amazing Weather and Weather Flow and from what they see the background task is running and not getting any errors, but still no updating.

View 4 Replies View RelatedA few months ago, I dropped my phone (the day before my case came in the mail, of course) and the screen went fuzzy, much like an old box tv for several minutes, then rebooted several times before catching up to itself. I'm not sure what on earth happened because of this drop, but since then I have had a huge amount of issues.
First- I cannot complete certain updates on my phone, including some system updates such as for "extras+info" and "Lumia Camera". I get the error code 80070539 on these failed updates, but I do not believe that is the real reason these apps will not update. One method I used to fix this was to make sure I accepted updated terms and conditions for Microsoft, which completed some updates, but I still have several left waiting.
Second- Several apps and processes just do not work at all. Example: settings>applications>photos+camera the screen begins to flip over to the photos+camera menu, then abruptly stops before returning to the applications menu. This exact scenario happens to several other processes throughout the phone, including the calendar app, adding new emails and accounts, etc.
Third- I cannot backup my phone. This is a major problem as I have an abundance of files that I desperately need on my phone, but whenever I attempt to backup my phone, it may make it up to 97% maximum before it says the backup failed. This is the primary reason I haven't attempted a hard reset yet, and I would prefer to avoid doing a hard reset unless we can manage to fix at least the backup issue.
Fourth- My computer will not recognize my phone. I am running a laptop with Windows 8.1, all my drivers are up-to-date, I've uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, etc. but the computer doesn't even recognize that I plug the phone in, even though my phone still charges at a normal rate. I have also tried different computers and different cables. Nothing has proven useful. There is not a place in my computer that I can find a trace of detection of my phone, not under devices/drives/anything.
I will try just about anything that doesn't involve losing all of my data.
Had to reset my Lumia 950 7-8 times to get it working again, finally Works, but it still got some issues. One of them is that it doesn't find updates for apps in the store. I can see that even the store itself is out of date, but no updates available. Any way to manually update it?

So bad that being stuck without LTE on AT&T has been a revelation at work. If I cannot manually turn off LTE, I am considering not getting AT&T to fix my lack of LTE issue.

Ever since the ICS update my battery life is 2x worse than before on Gingerbread. I have noticed on here that I am not the only one with this issue. Is there and options I can do to improve battery life? I noticed there is no way to toggle back and forth betwen 3G and 4G and background data cant be turned off now. I have also noticed they got rid of the task manager that actually worked and force quit the apps. I had to force quit ever app manually ever since the update. Every app was running in the background. I got this phone for the extended battery life and if I dont use the phone all day and by the end of the night I have 20% battery left, something is wrong. ICS has a lot of great features, but if I had a chance to un-install ICS I would.
