Jan 23, 2014How do I backup apps that I have downloaded to my phone, such as WhatsApp so that when my replacement phone arrives I can just install the backup on to it?

Lumia 1020 :: Backing Up RAW Files
Jan 17, 2014I am at my wits end trying to work out how to back up the RAW files from the Nokia 1020 to an external hard drive.
When I use the windows phone app on my Mac computer it always converts it to a jpeg file. Even if I drag the file to the desktop.
When I copy it to iPhoto, then try and export the original Raw file it exports a jpeg. Even if I tell it to export original.
It appears that iPhoto is using the RAW file becasue there is no jpeg written at the end of the file name, plus the file looks smooth when enlarged in iPhoto

Nov 9, 2014Backup is only backing up settings and not apps so if i try to back up the apps it gets stuck on 8%, if i turn app back up off and only backs up settings it will back up fine.
I am on 8.1.1 preview, I've deleted the preview app turned glance off and have no lock screen photo, tired soft reset & deleting old backups but still stuck ....

Aug 19, 2013I know that you can download apps manually by clicking on the link on the left side in the Windows Store (on PC), then you typically transfer that to a SD Card and you can have windows store on your phone recognize it on the SD Card on your p hone and you can install it.

So i did.Problem was just, when i logged on my Windows Phone again, I couldn't find = Settings, Phone, Messages and several other features. My backup has gone missing too.

I've done a search on here and completed soft resets with repining the tile etc, and still doesn't seem to be working ...

Apr 7, 2014I am using a Lumia 1020 with Black update and my Store is perfectly doing fine showing updates available but recently, or maybe around 2 weeks or so, my Store does not show any updates. I always see many updates from WPCentral but I the store just does not show an available update. And it is tiring to go to the app itself and update it from there when the store can automatically get all available updates and prompt me to download all.
I tried soft reset, restore factory settings, have not tried hard reset because I do not want to. I am almost in a month now that my store does not give me available updates.

Jul 23, 2014I'm on WP8.1 and haven't had an update for a few weeks however the week before last all of a sudden my phone started to run really slowly. Evening opening the camera app can take 10-20 secs sometimes before it starts and its highly annoying.I've tried restarting, soft reset (which works for a little), emptying temp files and not sure what to do. I have about 3.5gb of memory left on the phone, close all apps properly and don't have a more than around 20 3rd party apps installed so the apps themselves shouldn't be the issue.

During IE usage the battery drains extremely fast.
After 15 minutes it is very hot - I'm worried that a longer usage may do some harm to the phone due to the very hot temperature...
The back of the phone and the screen is getting very hot - I do not have the drain problem while not using the phone - it is cold while idle!
But I did notice, that other applications do also heat up the phone, but not as much as IE...

The only background apps I have running is the one for the weather app I am currently trying to use. I have sent logs to Amazing Weather and Weather Flow and from what they see the background task is running and not getting any errors, but still no updating.

Jun 14, 2015A few months ago, I dropped my phone (the day before my case came in the mail, of course) and the screen went fuzzy, much like an old box tv for several minutes, then rebooted several times before catching up to itself. I'm not sure what on earth happened because of this drop, but since then I have had a huge amount of issues.
First- I cannot complete certain updates on my phone, including some system updates such as for "extras+info" and "Lumia Camera". I get the error code 80070539 on these failed updates, but I do not believe that is the real reason these apps will not update. One method I used to fix this was to make sure I accepted updated terms and conditions for Microsoft, which completed some updates, but I still have several left waiting.
Second- Several apps and processes just do not work at all. Example: settings>applications>photos+camera the screen begins to flip over to the photos+camera menu, then abruptly stops before returning to the applications menu. This exact scenario happens to several other processes throughout the phone, including the calendar app, adding new emails and accounts, etc.
Third- I cannot backup my phone. This is a major problem as I have an abundance of files that I desperately need on my phone, but whenever I attempt to backup my phone, it may make it up to 97% maximum before it says the backup failed. This is the primary reason I haven't attempted a hard reset yet, and I would prefer to avoid doing a hard reset unless we can manage to fix at least the backup issue.
Fourth- My computer will not recognize my phone. I am running a laptop with Windows 8.1, all my drivers are up-to-date, I've uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, etc. but the computer doesn't even recognize that I plug the phone in, even though my phone still charges at a normal rate. I have also tried different computers and different cables. Nothing has proven useful. There is not a place in my computer that I can find a trace of detection of my phone, not under devices/drives/anything.
I will try just about anything that doesn't involve losing all of my data.

Aug 17, 2010Is there something to install that backs up information on my app store apps (ex: what level Im on in Angry Birds) separate from the itunes backup so if I want to restore my phone as a new phone then my app information can be restored? (and also text messages, but thats not as important)

Sep 15, 2014Lately, I've been getting a fair number of corrupted DNG files in my Lumia 1020 - I mean, I guess they're corrupted, since when I import them to Lightroom, the program states it can't open or edit them.
Curiously, the 5 mpx are fine.. When I check the size of the DNGs, I can see that they have, exactly, 1 byte less, in size, than the DNGs that Lightroom can edit.
