Just got a Lumia 1020 and am coming from a Blackberry. The microsoft account I created will sync email automatically but the Gmail (my main/work email account) does not have the option. Right now the fastest I can get it to sync is at 15 minute intervals. I have a friend with a 920 whose Gmail will sync automatically. Is this a 1020 issue? I may have to return the phone if I can't resolve this issue.

I've had a few BB's in the past and it never worked properly. Sometimes email was deleted from my BB after a few hours but mostly it never deleted the email.
I just noticed on my 1020, that I don't have an option to sync items as they arrive anymore; only 15 min, 30 min, hourly, 2 hours and manually. I've still got this option on my L920. How to get this back?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia Lumia 1020 (obviously) and I'm trying to upload all my photos to my computer because I have a lot and I need more space on my phone. I have a refurbished HP Elitebook 8440p that runs on an Intel i7 processor and Windows 7 (Professional, I think.)
I've tried using multiple USB cables to plug my phone into the computer, and in each of the USB ports, but the computer just doesn't recognize the phone at all- I get no message telling me it's connected and when I look at the devices connected, my phone is not one of them, but my phone does say that it's charging when plugged into the computer, so the cables and USB ports are functional. I also use the cables for charging and the USB ports for flash drives, etc, so I know they all work too.
I tried downloading "Windows Phone app for desktop" from the Windows Phone website, but when I open the app and plug in my phone, it still says "plug in your phone to see what's on it."
I have hard reset my Lumia 1020 today, but after a reset and setup my Hotmail, i have a problem with contacts sync i get a error 80072f30, but my email is sync without problem

So far, I'm enjoying it a lot, aside from the fact I can't get my gmail contacts to sync. I've been googling and searching this forum for an answer and it appears I'm doing everything right, they just don't sync. I've deleted and re-added the account, with a restart in the middle.. nothing. I've changed the cardDAV server to m.google.com and Google and nothing. Any way besides a hard reset? It's pretty frustrating not having most of my contacts.

My MS account cannot sync email nor calendar. Text messages don't send and various apps (WhatsApp, Facebook, etc.) won't open. Is there any solution to this? If not, how do I roll this back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter being a huge advocate for Windows Phone I'm just about done with it after moving from WP7.5 and Zune to WP8.I can't sync anything using Windows Media Player. I put stuff in the sync list and it looks like it syncs then I check the sync status and everything has "error" in the status and nothing has copied. Doesn't matter if it's songs I own or subscription - nothing syncs through media player. I think I did get it to sync to my wife's 620.
According to MSFT this will not let me sync Zune subscription which is another issue I have - and the biggest issue is that I can't sync playlists period. They show up with 0 songs when I sync using the Windows Phone App. But I was hoping using Media Player might solve that but it's not working.I'm using WIndows 7 on my PC. I'm a long time Zune user/promoter. Right now I can't get music on my phone in any reasonable fashion.
I got the 1020 and I love it but I really wanted to play with the larger 35meg pictures but when I sync with my pc its only showing the 5 MP pictures at about 2 megs apace how do I get the large files off the camera....

But after adding my gmail account to the mail app it doesn't display my emails from gmail. It just says no mail pull down to refresh". Yes I know I can use the Gmail app to access my gmail items but I like having all my email accounts in the same app.

I believe that it just stopped syncing last week and I believe that it was following a Motorola update, but cannot say for sure. Under Data Delivery, both Background Data and Data enabled are checked green. However, this is interesting because Email and corporate sync is grayed out on that screen. When I go to Account, checking the sync options is not possible, but I can do a manual sync. Please note, at one time, these options to sync Contacts, Gmail and Calendar were available. I've pulled the batter. I really do not want to reset to factory default. Suggestions? (Please note this is a company Gmail account, not just regular Gmail.)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently saw that the "Other" file on my iPhone 4 was getting past 3 gigs in size. I recalled reading recommendations here to do a restore on the phone to get this file back to a reasonable size, so I did that, and then after setting my iPhone completely back up, I synced it. The phone was showing me the "connect to iTunes" screen even after the restore was done and a sync had completed.
Now, all kinds of things are missing from my phone and did not show up after syncing (and multiple additional syncs)! All photos and videos are gone, all texting threads, all my alarms, my wallpaper settings, the organization of my apps/folders, my phone number "favorites"... AACK!! My songs and apps are there. I got my calendars and contacts back from iCloud, but so much other stuff is gone. I had given up on retrieving everything else, but now I feel compelled to ask for help. Am I wrong in expecting the restore & sync process to put my phone back to exactly it's condition at the time of a prior sync? How can I get all of these settings and data back? Is there a way I can sync from a specific date before I did the restore? I've never had these issues before.

I have configured two-way sync with Outlook Calendar through Desktop Mgr. I've verified that all of the advanced settings are also correct and out of the way:
No filters are set Conflict resolution says "add all conflicting appointments".Sync is two-way No confirmation is required for additions, deletions or changes
While my Outlook appointments are correctly being transferred to my BB, appointments entered directly on the BB will not transfer back to my Outlook calendar.
Many people in my office are having this problem...with a variety of different Windows versions and a variety of different generations of Outlook. (Our office is gradually upgrading.)

long time lurker and joined a few days ago. I've searched the forums to see if this has been answered... if I just missed the answer, I apologize in advance. I've had my Droid X since Dec 2010. No problems with the calendar on the phone synching with the microsoft outlook calendar thru exchange UNTIL Gingerbread. Now all the new calendar items I add to the Droid X will not synch to the Corporate Calendar in Microsoft. However, when I add anything new to the Corporate Outlook calendar it immediately shows up on the X; it just won't synch the other way. (email and contacts sync both ways just fine).

So I have to fish them out of the deleted items in Outlook and put them back. Memory seems to be fine on the BB and settings are "forever" and "two way sync."

My email/calendar is on a Microsoft exchange server, and I have it set up on my Blackberry Playbook (activesync) and sending/receiving emails or making/deleting calendar entries is seemless and instantaneous. The Curve on the other hand does not make it so easy.
I get/send emails no problem. The calendar on the curve does not update with new items posted elsewhere nor do new calendar entries made on the Curve get posted to the server. I do not have the same email account options on the curve 9360 as the playbook. I have never found an option on the Curve for wireless sync. The only way syncing works presently for me is to use desktop manager and press sync.
As the title says really. Outlook calendar is listed as the main item to show detailed status but no calendar items ever show on the glance screen or the lock screen.

Also, I've seen threads on here that mention issues with music that has been moved to the cards not being playable. I have enough issues with my phone giving error messages on the music app now without adding another complication.
since new year my BB inbox doesn't sync with my gmail account. Im running the latest OS (7.1.0) for Bold 9900, I've checked gmail configuration, I've deleted and reconfigured the gmail account in my BB but nothing works.

I love a lot of things about it except e-mail handling.I am having to manually delete mails already deleted from my laptop. My Torch is not reconciling my Gmail automatically; in fact, when I go to the BB menu in e-mail to manually reconcile by selecting that command, it still doesn't work.The above wouldn't bother me quite so badly if I didn't have to delete them (again) one at a time. I'm sure there must be a way to select multiple e-mails from my Inbox to delete en masse, but I haven't hit upon it yet.

how I can now sync the calendar on my BB with my gmail calendar
For the past two or three day my X10a (2.1) had continually been trying to sync to my Gmail account. I can turn auto-sync or the data off to make it stop, but once turned back out it starts up again. I have deleted most of my newer mail in case there was something bad included with the mail. Not sure what my next step would be. With the phone trying to sync all the time make it slow to respond to commands.
View 7 Replies View Relatedso I've got the google calendar sync set up on the x10 and gotten it verified by the gmail mobile set up.. and the syncing works both ways for future events.. for some reason no past events on the gmail calendar syncs with the x10 calendar..although any events set up in the past on the x10 calendar updates the gmail calendar fine.. does anyone know if this is a "feature" or do I have to set up some personal settings differently? although for the life of me I can't find any settings on the x10 calendar that specifies the length of time the sync should work for!I know this is not a huge issue but I have had to restore from backups cos of various problems with my x10, so everytime I'm having to manually create the past calendar entries (which I use as tracking meaures for various projects I'm working on) on the phone by looking @ the gmail calendar.

I can't seem to locate a place to change my Gmail sync schedule similarly. under Accounts, I've located a way to turn sync off and on for Gmail, but that's it. Am I missing something?
