So I am trying to send music files to my phone via Mac lg g4 via USB connection and it won't load up where I can transfer files. I even turned off the phone took out the micro sd card and connected that to my mac and same thing I can't transfer files over.

I have an SD card installed that appears to be working properly.In windows explorer if I want to copy music to either the main music folder on the phone or the music folder on the SD card I get the following error:The phone is unlocked with a PIN so it should be able to write to the phone but it doesn't. I am using the USB C cable that came with the phone.
I can create a folder in the music folder, but I cannot copy a file into the newly created folder.If I try to copy a file into the Saved Pictures folder it works, but if I try copying into the camera roll folder I get the same error.I have had a Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 before this an I have never had this issue.
I know there is media go that you use to put music on your phone, but you need xp service pack 3 or later. I must have an older xp version. Is there any other way I can transfer music files to the phone?

I have bought a Sony Ericsson W395 but cannot transfer music files - or at least I can transfer the files using Windows Media player (connecting via a USB cable and using the 'Mass Storage' option) but although the files appear on Windows Media Player I cannot find them anywhere on my phone! I have the same experience using Windows Explorer. I cannot download the Sony PC suite as it is not compatible with Windows 7.

I am currently using my old 2 gb sd card and want to get a 16 gb card, but can't figure out how to transfer my music files that I downloaded from Amazon MP3 cloud to my phone. It appears they are stored on internal storage, which I suppose is ok for now, but when I get a new card I want to store them on my larger 16 gb card. I can access them by going to settings,storage, audio, then complete action using files, device storage, and then they are listed as amazonmp3.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy S6 will not stay connected to my PC so I can transfer files, use Kies, SmartSwitch, or anything. Sometimes I hear the Windows notification that it's plugged in, but even when I do, it goes back and forth between being recognized and not. Most of the time it doesn't even show up in Device Manager.
I'm currently running Windows 10, but it did the same thing on Windows 8.1. I have downloaded the Samsung USB drivers as well as allowed Kies and SmartSwitch to install them.
Thinking my Windows 10 being upgraded from 8.1 without a full wipe carried over whatever problem was in 8.1, I did a full wipe of my PC and reloaded Windows 10 clean. That also didn't work.
When I first installed Windows 10 clean, my PC didn't recognize my phone at all. It just acted like a charger. After I installed the Samsung USB drivers, it started making the 'connecting' and 'disconnecting' sounds. Also, the most I got Windows to recognize my phone was for about 5 seconds, and that was right after turning off USB debugging. But with it on or off, it still won't stay connected.
And yes, I've made sure (when the phone has connected for a second or two) that it was on MTP. But... I've tried the camera mode as well.
This makes it not only impossible to move files easily between my phone and PC, but also to use Odin.
I've read many posts where people have this problem, but everyone just tells them to go download the Samsung USB driver, and after having done so three different ways, I can say it doesn't work for me.
I rarely plug my phone to my laptop, however I wanted to transfer a large amount of pictures today and got stuck.
When I plug my phone in the PC, the phone is recognized as a "media device" but the folder is fully empty, and nothing can be done.
Looking at previous forum posts, I have tried to check if the MTP was enabled, however I could not find the option (when I go to settings, storage and USB, all I can see is information about apps, there is no menu i can access to reach the MTP.
What I could do in order to manage to download my pictures to my PC?
How can I tranfer files from my computer to a blackberry 9630? Do you have to use bluetooth or is there another way? I have the usb cabel.

I downloaded the HTC Sync Manager, that also doesn't see the phone. In other phones you have to make a choice of charging/file transfer/etc, but I do not see this. I'm used to Samsung phones, so this is a bit different for me. I"m running 4.4.2 and Sense is 5.5.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is bizarre, everything was fine until this morning, not sure what's going on but the phone still comes up in Windows 8 file explorer, however as soon as I click the Internal Storage directory, file explorer stalls as the green progress bar slowly crawls along and eventually times out.
The phone says it's in MTP mode.
I looked at the driver supporting this phone for Windows 8 and it says it's from 2006. I found a link for installing thhe Google USB driver but there is no instructions for installing it in Windows 8, the phone not connecting to the computer in MTP mode which isn't an issue for me.
Rebooted the phone and tried again, no luck.
for some reason a selection of music files (not all) has gone from my PC even tho the folders are still showing there. However, the files are still on my Xperia Z3 SD card, and play fine, but I can't trasfer them from there back to my PC... it is weird! I have tried moving them via PC Companion and Media Go, but no luck.Is there any other way of pulling the files back to my PC?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am happy to report success in copying music files to my LG enV3 (VX9200)! I have now loaded 2000 music files onto a 16Gb Micro SD card and gotten the phone to properly read <title>, <artist>, <track>, <album>, and <genre> for all of these files. Unfortunately, this was only after much trial, error, pain, and suffering.Here's what I have deduced about how the enV 3 wants to see music files organized:
1. To avoid silly mistakes, do use the phone to format your Micro SD card.
2. But to save time and achieve reliable transfers, move your music onto the formatted card using a USB card reader, plugged directly into your computer. Putting the phone into USB Mass Transfer mode, or trying to use the 'Sync' routine, is slow at best and ends up in failure more times than not.
3. Music files go into the "my_music" folder on the card.
4. Within "my_music", what works well is the following directory structure: my_ music /<artist>/<album> /<track>_ <title>But you have to follow some special rules:
5. The enV 3 doesn't seem to like like spaces or special characters in directory or file names, and I think it wants only one period (the one before the .mp3 extension). Special characters include the 'usual suspects': . ^ $ | ? * + [ ] ( ) { } /
6. The enV 3 doesn't seem to like directories or file names to be longer than 32 characters
7. Finally, to have album art displayed, it wants to see the file "AlbumArt.jpg" in each <album> folder.
I may be wrong about some of the rules -- but I can report that when I followed the rules, things worked as they never had before.My guess is that other Verizon LG phones work the same way. (You'd think that Verizon or LG would document this somewhere, but NO!)
Now -- you'd better believe I wasn't going to manually edit the directories and filenames to meet the enV 3's picky requirements -- not for 2000 files!Instead, I worked with the freeware program Mp3tag (available here) and wrote an Mp3tag script (available here) to do the dirty work.
Step 1 was to 'clone' my music files by copying my entire music library -- all of the mp3 files, which had been organized by iTunes -- into a new directory which I labeled 'Music_Backup'.
Step 2 was to read this cloned library into Mp3tag.
Step 3 was to run my Mp3tag script, which parsed/renamed/moved all the music files under a new directory on my computer (called 'Ready-For-LG-Phone')
Step 4 was to copy this new directory structure onto the Micro SD card
From there I popped the card into the phone, and at long last it has become a usable music player.(The one thing I haven't figured out is how to get playlists into the phone.)To use this process, you're going to have to get familiar with Mp3tag, or come up with a way using the tagger of your choice to meet the requirements I've listed above.But I can tell you that there's light at the end of the tunnel. View 1 Replies View RelatedThe problems with Comes with Music continue.My first year has expired, and though I have bought a second Comes With Music device I have not yet worked out how I am going to plug that in (see separate post about problems of only one phone per CWM account even if you buy a new phone and renew).
Put my old SIM in new CWM but without yet activating the PIN (two months from sales date to do so) and old phone gets upset and music stops working. Bizarre, so think redownload music to phone again, pain but if necessary will do so.
However, when I try to download the music from PC to phone using Nokia Ovi Player, won't let me, it tells me I have not got the license, I can only download music from the Music Vault.
So I download a track from the music vault, and then try to download it to phone.Still will not let me.Can play track quite happily on the computer, but not on the phone.
As an aside people talk about DRM and how if you are a legal music downloader (like me) then it should not bother you. The problem is I am trying to use music that I have legally downloaded to use on my phone according to my agreement with Nokia, and the DRM is stopping me using it, even though it should not. The reason people are against DRM it is all too good at stopping you doing what you should be doing.
I'm using my Nokia 5310, it has been updated to the latest firmware, I'm on the latest Nokia Music Player, and it expired less than a month ago.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought a Samsung Galaxy 6. The sales person said he transferred all files from my Galaxy 3 to my new Galaxy 6 but my music files are missing. Also, he told me I could "find" my apps from the Galaxy 3 in Google Play under "my apps" but I have found no such thing. I suppose I could connect both phones to my computer and transfer the music that way and download all the former apps again. Is there a better, easier way?
