I just deleted the stock internet shortcut from my home page (I normally use FF/Chrome but sometimes have issues with these so the stock is my backup browser) but now I can't find it in the app drawer; I have looked for hidden apps etc. but still no joy.
All of my saved searches in the messages application. are gone after I reboot my BB. It doesn't happen every time though, and it just seems to have started happening in the last month or so. I have 5.0.0.699 on my 9650. Its get really annoying to have to go back in and recreate them every time. I tried restoring the searches database but it's greyed out (maybe because I'm using BES? BB desktop says something about wireless backup). This wouldn't be such a big deal if it just deleted the couple custom searches I made, but the default shortcut ones are deleted too (alt+i / o / f / s / p / etc).

I recently backed up my Nokia 5130 XpressMusic to the memory card and now I am trying to restore it keeps telling me no space on the phone. I have lost my contacts & messages. Prior to restoring I had over 600 messages in my Inbox alone now my phone is not accommodating more than 30 messages total. I really need to retrieve my data and would love any help I can get.
I'm using a Blackberry Curve 9300, it seems to freeze a lot lately, sometimes for hours at a time. Like this morning it froze from 12midnight until 5:30am. When it freezes I get a black squared clock at the centre of my screen. I then decided to whip out everything on my phone thinking if I did that everything will be back to normal. After whipping out all my stuff now not only do I still experience the same problem of freezing, I now lost all my BB Messenger contacts that I can't restore. I now don't know what to do. how do I stop my phone from freezing all the the time and how do I restore all my contacts!
So i have the blackberry curve 8530 and iv'e been trying to figure out my top five shortcut's on the home screen with no luck at all. could anyone help me with this? (sorry if this is already discussed ; didn't find anything when i tried to search) PS: is there a task manager program out there any were ?
When I tap my screen and choose adding shortcuts only my second page of shortcuts show, where the Facebook app. are. My first page do not show, where phone and contacts are. I had these before but now I can not figure out what to do to get the phone shortcut on my desktop.
the shortcut suddenly stopped working and I am not able to select Profile from Homescreen. When I tap at the top centre (where the Calendar and profile shortcut usually found), I am able to feel the touch vibrate. But I am not able to see any dropdown showing different profiles.
I have an LG G3 and i downloaded some apps on the play store. It said they were installed, but the shortcuts were never created. How do I fix this problem? :?
Excuse me if there is already a topic on this, I haven't searched. But does anyone know if the media bar on this phone can be customised? By that I mean can I add to or remove shortcuts?
on my 5530 the shortcuts bar is near the top of the screen.on all the other 5530s i have seen (inc pics) this bar is at the bottom of the screen.how do i move it from top to bottom ?
My phone has a bug, i try to set my home screen up so that the short cuts would show and my email notifications as well.. Instead i can set up my contact with the pictures, but not the installed shortcuts like music, web,etc... I am really fraustrated with this, as i have to keep going into applications to click on my email to retrieve my msgs and to play music as well..
I am in the messaging application, click to update mailbox and while it is trying to update the email application crashes and closes completely. I am returned to the home screen but now the shortcut I had for my email account inbox is gone, replaced by a shortcut to the music store. I had to manually fix this several times but then I discovered that just leaving it after a while the correct icon would reappear.
I've got a X6 since a month or so and I always left the start screen settings in place. Recently, the shortcuts on that screen have gone. Only the phone and menu buttons at the bottom are visible. I've tried setting the Theme to no avail.
I've also tried a hard reset (soft wouldn't do it), and that works fine. But when I restore my phone, the same problem persists. Even when I do not restore the phone settings, but only contact, messages, etc, the shortcuts on the start screen are gone again. It feels like there's some corrupt data in the backup. Anyone got another tip?
From looking through similar threads, I see that it is a problem changing any shortcuts. My particular problem is hitting the spacebar and the phone comes up and, as I have already done several times, hit it a few more times and you will accidentally dial a number in your address book. When I have my phone in my pocket and I don't have keylock on, I have called several numbers.
Luckily, I realized what I had done before the phone was left on for a long time and they could listen to whatever I was saying. I could see where this could become a MAJOR problem! One of the threads mentioned a 3rd party app (without saying what it was) that could change the shortcut. Does anyone know what that is? Better yet, does anyone know how you CAN change the shortcut? I'd rather not have to put the key lock on every time I put the phone in my pocket.
So are there no more double-click shortcuts since there is multi-task now? Is there any other method for short-cuts? I used to double click to access my camera.
I can only use the shortcuts when facing the "playing media", music to be exact. If I'm at the home-screen, menu, blackberry messenger or any other screen besides the "playing media" screen, I can't change songs, volume and pause/play. I've been having this problem for a couple of weeks, how to enable the shortcuts (the side-buttons) no matter what's on your screen?
How do u change these? I'm running a launcher that isn't the default, and frankly I feel a bit silly! I can't find any way to change the shortcuts that appear on the lockscreen (important: I am not referring to the 4 apps that mirror the ones on your default launcher's dock). If you don't get what I'm talking about say so, I'll edit this with better pictures etc.
I have owned 2 Apple phones and have jumped ship to Android and to Sony, having purchased a Z5 Premium. My issue is this: I have read several articles where it explains in full how to make keyboard shortcuts (for like your address for example) and I have followed the instructions to a "T". It doesn't work. I go into settings->Language & Input->Personal Dictionary->English(Canada){I've also tried it using the US setting}->add->type a word->shortcut. When I then go and try to use my shortcut in email, text or notepad, nothing works!
Just got my HTC ONE. Love it, but I hate the HTC browser that seems married to the lock screen. Can I swap it out for Chrome like I could on my ONE X? I can't seem to figure it out. The app association menu in settings is different. Short version, can you edit the lock screen short cuts?
I want a widget that opens the wifi network selection screen. I have tried Elixir widgets (1 and 2) and power togglea as well as looking for Settings Shortcuts in the widget selection menu from the home screen, all to to no avail. Is there something I've missed with one of these options?
