When I tried to do this file by file, it did the same thing, and I waited for half an hour, before trying to exit, (the phone didnt respond) and I had to get the battery out to restart the phone! Sep 3, 2010My phone keeps coming up with error Indexing of files failed due to lack of memory. Delete one or more files of your choice. I have deleted files but the error is still coming up. This seemed to occur after storing a large amount of data on my 8GB M2 card. I have tasken the card out but the phone still has error. Tried updating software but it says it is the latest. Also done a Reset settings from Master reset - error still occurs. Everytime I switch on phone the free memory is sometime 10MB. 6.1MB or 4.9MB.

I have the same experience using Windows Explorer. I cannot download the Sony PC suite as it is not compatible with Windows 7.
