Sep 18, 2010How to install .sis files on W995, i can find them once transfered but it just says (send, copy and move). There is no option to install!

Mar 17, 2010I have a newly updated w995 last 2 months ago from SEUS.in installing flash themes do you need to flash your firmware again to make your flash theme work?i downloaded a flash theme but i cannot make it work, dahliana's greenheart flash theme 2.1 and 2.0 flashlite menu specifically. but i have a flash theme downloaded from se-stuff.net that works even though i have not flashed my firmware yet.so does debranding is a requirement for a flash theme to work? thanks to all that would reply.

I save the results on the phone and get a message saying that they have been saved as standard .gpx file on my memory card. My questions are (1) how do I find them on the card, (2) how can I transfer/download them to my MacBook and (3) what software can I read them with on my Mac; will they work with Google Maps for instance?

Jul 25, 2010Looking for some advice I just started using W995 it was my husbands and he has had no problems. Today I got the phone and have been transferring stuff of my own e.g. photos, mp3s etc using windows explorer. When I transfer them to a new folder on the memory card I get weird garbled looking files as well appearing in the folder.
I have tried: Formatting the memory card. Deleting the folder (which I have to do by switching the phone of and back on first as it says it cant delete as there are files in). Adding a new folder same thing happens. I can upload a picture if it helps.

Oct 17, 2010In a usage time of this phone I had a problem with function Wi-fi. At connection to ad-hoc networks the exchange of packages does not occur. What should I do? I tried to adjust ip-addresses and a network mask manually, to change cryptography techniques, but it hasn't helped.

Nov 23, 2010I have just acquired a W995 & have set up a Wi-Fi link to my home network but am not sure if it is using that instead of my Mobile Phone connection. The Wi-Fi icon is green but when I try to connect to the internet a small e appears above the signal strength bars. Using a French network provider, my data allowance is very small, so would prefer to use Wi-Fi to pick up e-mail & other internet services. How can I force a Wi-Fi connection if one is available ?

Oct 13, 2010I'm sure this has been done to death but I can't find any links on here. My phone started not working so I switched off, sincve when it won't go past the Sony logo before the screen goes blank. It is seen by the PC for a few seconds every minute or so, and that's it. I can't do anything with it, and the battery is charged and the sim card is not faulty.

Oct 26, 2010My nearly 1 year old W995 has just started to switch itself off for no reason. Battery is charged and have tried a replacement battery also. There is no pattern and just happens at random 2-3 times a day. Have tried the software update but it still happens. Only way to clear the problem is to remove the battery and then it will restart!

Jan 17, 2010Is there anyone with a W995 (Brown cert) with the latest fw R1HA036 who can extract the mentioned app? I'm quite bummed that the new fw doesn't allow manual installation for the Facebook app I've been using since the last fw. It's strange that after the fw update my APAC-ANZ doesn't come with it while another phone with the same CDA and fw does. Actually it does allow manual installation, it just doesn't integrate itself with the phone anymore, ie. able to log on but I can't view any of the pictures, there's no Facebook link for 'send to' in the photo gallery which used to allow me to upload photos directly to my Facebook page etc. Am kinda wondering if any of you kind souls could help me out with this.

Jul 15, 2010I have downloaded the latest version of the Ericsson pc suite successfully to my computer. However when I plug the usb cable in and go through the connecting proceedure it get rights the way to the end and then a grey box appears with an error message, send error report, don't send error report and which ever one you click shuts down the pc suite and you have to go through it all again for the same error report at the end!

Aug 26, 2010I've had my phone for at least a year now and suddenly today it won't turn on. This also happened maybe 30mins-1hr after turning it off. It was working fine but now no matter how I try turning it on, the buttons just light up and it vibrates but nothing comes on the screen. Is this a battery problem or a screen problem? Sep 17, 2010I've tried several times to synchronise my new W995 to this site. However, the sync setup won't work. I follow the step by step instructions on this site, but I only get to the point when they tell me I will receive an SMS with instructions, after I give my phone type and phone number. As nothing happens, I tried "manual setup". Then, all I see is "Manual Setup", completely blank, with no instruction whatsoever! All I can click is "Done", but nothing can be done if I don't receive the sms and if there are no instructions for manual setup. How is that supposed to work? This site is a joke! I would be done sooner copying all my contacts one by one into the new phone or sending them one by one via Bluetooth!

Oct 1, 2010I have had the W995 for close to a month now on a contract from Virgin and I am very pleased with it in almost every aspect apart from one!
The problem is as follows.
When I connect to my WI-FI via the W995 I wait until I get confirmation that I am connected and then I attempt to access the internet via the browser provided by Sony Ericsson. After a short time I get the message 'Communication error. Try again, turn off Wi-Fi or contact your provider for support'. I have tried many things to fix this problem. I have spoken to Sony Ericsson and they suggested altering my security settings on the router. I have tried using Opera Mini as an alternative browser and perhaps 2 or 3 times it worked for a minute or two and then it failed. I have searched quite a few websites and seen that an awful lot of people have the same problem without getting anywhere with it. There are occasional suggestions that I have read and tried such as manually configuring the service and putting various IP addresses into my phone but nothing works!
