IPhone :: Unable To Receive Emergency Wireless Alerts?
May 15, 2012
None of the carriers seem to support iphones. I find it hysterical that a national system has been implemented with the msot popular phone out there iphone unable to receive these alerts?? Am I missing something?
I can't find anything definitive about whether (or when) my iPhone 4 will (or won't) be able to receive the national emergency alerts (WEA) via the Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS).
Me and my kids were woken up at 3am this morning by an amber alert on my verizon gs5 running 5.0 ... I can't find the menu for emergency alerts...i have looked in the native msging app settings as well as in the wireless and network menu, but just cant find it....is this yet another lollipop bug or am i just missing something?
I have question about emergency notifications. An Amber Alert went out today and my entire office got it but me. I saw that the settings for emergency notifications are in the Samsung messaging app. I don't use the messaging app I use Textra would that cause me to not get Amber Alerts
Bluetooth Earpiece (Jawbone ICON with A2DP) does not give me an audible alert when I receive Texts or Calendar reminders. My phone vibrates, but I what I want is my chosen alert tone in my ear. When I get a phone call, I get the phone number read to me and the alert tone. I have tried turning the A2DP off and about a hundred other things.
When I put my phone on charger at night it enters bedside mode. Currently I have it set to silent for all. However, I would like two things to get through. Berry weather advisory, and phone calls from one or two contacts. I don't want phone only because I don't want to be woke up by just anybody but I would like for one or two people to be able to get through in case of a emergency.
i replaiced my blackberry curve 8520 screen now when i turn it on it shows a white screen but the alerts and messeges recive, i can hear my phones alerts when messeges.
I have a Blackberry Curve 9300. 4 days ago I stopped receiving e-mails through the wireless connection(Movistar Argentina) but I can still send messages perfectly. I also can browse the internet through EDGE/3G, make/receive phone calls & SMS and any other function of the device is operational. If I turn on the WiFi connection I start to receive all the e-mails perfectly.I re-sent the service books (which were not either received until I turned on WiFi), re-register the device, power boot it, checked that the accounts are validated, upgrade the OS to 6.0, etc. The problem is still there: e-mails don't reach the unit through the wireless connection (they only do through WiFi)
since downloading iSO 5 i can no longer connect to a wireless network. I have tried both at home and at other wireless hotspots. it would appear that none of the previous wireless connections work either? i just get the error "unable to connect to "x"
When i'm connecting with my house wireless while i''m sending imessages they suddenly stop and gives me not deliverd i asked my friend that i'm sending with her if she stopped her imessages she told me no and on my iphone imessage still blue but still giving me not delivered then i tried to connect with another wireless network i shocked that they worked again and they delivered i need a solution my imessages make this every two days they work for two days then suddenly stop on my house wireless and work with any other wireless!!
I am new to the Blackberry world. Last night I wanted to put the Blackberry on silence and it appears that I did something wrong and it is now staying silent. I cannot reactivate the alerts? It says all alerts are disactivated and it won't allow me to change it.
I have a new 5c iPhone but can not connect to my Wi-Fi Home Wireless Network as my new phone does not recognize my password. How can I change the password and move on?
I just picked up a MiFi 4G device and I carry it at all times. However since it has a cap on data per month I want it to be secondary to several other unlimited WiFi networks such as my office WiFi, home WiFi, free WiFi hotspots, etc. Is there any work around to make the MiFi wireless (or any permanent wireless network) 2nd to all other recognized networks? This is the ideal set-up for my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 WiFi. I don't want to have to turn the MiFi on and off constantly, I want it on in the background as a seamless secondary option. I appreciate any insight and find it odd that you cannot prioritize networks. Meaning if I "forgot this network" and start over will the 1st joined or most recent joined become primary when there are multiple networks available?
A few weeks ago there was a software update to BlackBerry Desktop which now precludes me from synching the new Contacts from my Outlook on computer to the device (Torch9810).
I have tried unsuccessfully to turn off wireless snchronization but this device doesn't have that option. I went to Contacts --> Options --> Synchronization but the only alternative there is to uncheck AT&T Address Book Automatic Synchronization.
It doesn't import new Contacts either way (checked or not). Used to before the software update I relunctantly downloaded. But not now.
I am new to this blackberry smartphone and have brought a new BB curve 9300 with BSNL connection. I am unable to connect to my wireless network my phone displays my network but does not connect at all says " Failed to associate with the network". I have tried all possible way
The manual states that the light is supposed to turn off when the device is fully charged. So far, my light on the charging stand has not turned itself off. Has anyone experienced differently?
Off-topic note: I wasn't sure whether to post this in the Help section or the Hacks section, but I found similar problems in this topic so I decided to post here.Anyway, self-explanatory. I am unable to receive MMS from other phones.I have a iPhone 3gs unlocked (T-mobile).I get the error about message resolution size.I've tried every solution found on forums. The most recent one I've tried is this one http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=821026 .
The weird thing is, it used to work before...At default, it didn't work, so I enabled it. Then it didn't work again, so I fixed it...then broke again and so I fixed it one more time. This time it doesn't work at all.And so I've tried a variety of different things found on countless forums. I've also went into Cydia and downloaded the T-Mobile prepaid package or whatever. I tried all 6 of them. And each time I tried new network settings I restarted my phone.Oh and I have 3.0 software. Jailbroken and unlocked. Also, I can receive MMS from other iPhones, but not other phones.Any suggestions? And no I don't remember the settings that I've used when I fixed the problem. But I'm pretty sure I've used them after going through a number of familiar forums with network settings. So in short
Anyone else not receiving app notifications? Seems like my Foursquare App stopped receiving notifications about ten hours ago, not sure if what other apps this is happen to.
For some unknown reason my Blackberry refuses to connect to my home Wifi. The Wireless AP is a Buffalo Nfinity B/G/N and I have several other devices connected, two Wireless N laptops and a Wireless G Ethernet bridge, no issues at all there. The phone sees the network, asks me for the passphrase and tries to connect, but then fails with "Unable to obtain IP address".MAC filtering isn't enabled and the AP is currently set to WPA2-PSK AES but changing that to other options seems to have no effect, same failure message on the Blackberry each time.
In a moment of insanity, I turned off wireless email reconciliation for three of my email accounts. I did this, not knowing that it is impossible to turn it back on from my device! Is there any way to fix this without deleting and then re-adding my email accounts?
