I have set up my voicemail, and if I hold the 1 button I can access and check voicemail.
I do not get notifications of new voicemail since the latest 2 software updates as when I touch voicemail button, It is stuck on the greeting screen, the only button that does anything is the one that takes you to the default or custom, whichever one you rouch and save results in "saving Greeting" which never actually ends and therefore I am never able to leave the greeting setup window and the voicemail never works!!

A friend and I swapped Iphones and the voicemail greeting on my voicemail transferred to my old Iphone (friend's new Iphone). And everytime I go to check my voicemails, it tells me that I must set up my voicemail. I have done it at least 3 times now. I am also getting voicemails going both my friend and myself. I called my phone carrier, Verizon, and they said everything was successfully transferred, and are unaware as to why this is happening.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOut of the blue my voicemail makes me type in my password to access my voicemail. I never had this before and find it very irritating and do not want it. I have tried the 'fix-it' solution put forth in goggling the question, and nothing worked despite repeated tries - which was to open the phone app, press 1, then press 4 and follow instructions.  But as soon as I press 1, I am told to enter my password and then it goes directly into voicemail; I don't have any other options.Â

I have been getting this request for a password. when I contacted AT&T, they advised it was my cell phone number, but when I entered it was advised it was incorrect. View 1 Replies View Relatedwondering if someone can help. here is a quick breakdown of events. received my new iphone 4 yesterday. went to store to have number ported. since i live in vegas and i have an ohio number, they had to switch the temporary las vegas number to a temporary ohio number and then had my number ported.
everything works fine except i am unable to use the visual voicemail. it says voicemail unavailable, unable to connect, when i try to log on.
Also, when i make facetime calls, my number shows up on the other persons caller id as the las vegas temporary number and not my actual number.
tried calling carrier last night, they were unable to help, so i have no idea what to do?
Everytime I end a call a screen will show up asking me to enter my voice mail password. If I click cancel it will show up again once more, another cancel, and it will go away. But if I enter something and click ok, it will just keep coming back.
Here's the thing though...I don't have a voice mail password.
My visual voice mail does not work and my phone will not tell me if I have a voice mail or not. I called my voice mail and went to the option to turn off my voice mail password, yet it didn't do anything.
I tried making a password then getting rid of it, hard reset, restore, everything and nothing seems to work. I was hoping iOS4 would do something to fix it but no luck.
Also, this screen will also show up if I have no service and then regain it. (It also tells me if I have a voice mail only if I have no service, which is pretty much never).
