My iphone 4s is less than a week old. It has a black screen and is not responding. I tried charging. It gets warm but the phone doesn't respond. I tried a different plug. A different wall outlet. A different plug and different wall outlet. I tried rebooting. I tried to contact customer support but (haha- you have to call them or them call you back. I can't find an online tech support option for the iphone. I tried resetting it. I tried plugging it into the computer to wipe it and reload. My computer can't even recognize the phone. It's just dead. (PS- I have had iphones since the very first model & the very first year they came out. This is my 4th iphone. I have never seen this before.)

Basically my phone just stopped working (which is what i thought at first) but it's actually responding to my password (which is just the shape of the letter N) which is good because i just backed up all my important files onto my laptop, also my notification light is still working.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo today morning I got a call from one of my college mates. Phone started ringing and when I pressed the 'receive call' button, a message saying 'Android is not responding' appeared. I selected 'Shut Down' option, hoping that it would simply shut down the phone. Since then the screen has been black, not seem to respond to touches, only thing that works is a mechanical ringer volume button on the right side of the phone.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFriday at 15:00 Did my mobile just turn off. It will not light when it's charging up, so i have an idea it may be that it does not detect the battery. When I try to turn it on, screen stays black, it does not vibrate, it does nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I turned on my phone and now it goes straight to the bootloader. So, when I select "Start" option, screen turns black (can still see backlight shining though). It was sitting there for hours, but screen stayed black.
I did have a rooted phone, but I hadn't tinkered with it for about 6 months.
So I got my Nexus 6P yesterday and the first thing I did was unlock the bootloader and root. However I just noticed this morning that I no longer have access to the camera. If I open the camera app it just shows a black screen with the camera symbol in the middle and Snapchat just gives me a black screen. The only things I have done were u lock bootloader, Root and I changed my DPI to 400. I've tried reboots and clearing data/cache from both Snapchat and my camera app with no success.

It then responds to anything, not even on the Power button until the other ends the call. Then, the screen lights up again and it goes back all normal.

My iPhone has fallen out of my pocket a million times and always been fine, no cracks just a few scraches on the back. This morning, it fell out and I assumed the usual had happened. However, I went to type on the open message and the screen wasn't responding on parts of the keyboard. So, I thought maybe it was just a small issue; I turned my phone off then back on. When it turned back on I couldn't even unlock it because the screen wasn't responding and the first number of my passcode was in an unresponsive spot. An elder friend of mine told me all I needed was to replace the screen and that he could do it, if I bought the screen. My question is, would it be cheaper to buy the screen and have my friend do it, or would Apple give me a better deal?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWoke up this morning and hit the home button on my iPhone, only to have the screen flicker white and then turn off. I tried pressing the home and sleep buttons, with no luck. In the fist five minutes, the screen flickered white 3 times but then proceeded to a dark screen and has not turned on since.
I have attempted soft and hard resets like some other users, but the screen is still blank. I even put the phone into recovery mode and attempted to get it running with iTunes. I re-installed 3.1.2, but no luck. The sleep button is pretty iffy, and requires you to hold it down in certain positions to get it to work, so it has been hit or miss to get the phone into recovery mode.
Two weeks ago, I reformatted the phone, updated to 3.1.2, jailbroke and unlocked the phone with blackra1n, with no problems in functionality.I also tried re-installing from a backup. I get vibration notifications in conjunctions with emails (since I see them on my laptop at the same time as the vibration), so I know there is some functionality, I just can't see anything. There is no passcode on the phone either.
My guess is the LCD went out since resets and recoveries have not been able to bring anything back on the screen. I'm about to order a new screen, I just wanted to confirm that I'm taking the proper next step.
I have used the iPhone 4 (Factory Unlocked) for more than a year now with only minor issues. Like on a usual day I was playing a word game "Rumble" then quit the game, connected my earphones for music & pressed the "Home" button on the phone to unlock it and the screen was Black. This was a sudden shocker!! . I just put the phone to rest for a while & after about an hour crossed my fingers and tried the Home button again but the Black screen continued. So the backlight of the iPhone works I can say that bcoz I see the phone luminates but the "Slide to Unlock" is cannot be seen. Since I have been using the phone for a while I know the exact position of "Slide to Unlock" so if I slide my finger it unlocks too with the default "unlocking (click) noise" but again the icons of the apps cannot be seen, all I see is a fadely luminated grid. I receive SMS's and Calls although I cant read them nor can I see whos calling. Since the screen is blank I cant operate the phone but the phone seems to be working. I hence tried the reboot, restart, shutdown & start again, restore backup, update iOS everything a desperate user would do but nothing has worked till now. There is not much discussion on this issue anywhere hence No resolution. I am gonna visit an Apple service center today and keep my fingers crossed. I have taken utmost care of the phone. Till date it is scratchless, spotless.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAbout a week ago, my iPhone 5S started acting very strange. Whenever I go into my "Messages" app, it either shows up as a blank white page or shows previous messages but the screen freezes on the page. Sometimes I am able to text but then it starts freezing again. I am unable to call anyone. My battery is drastically draining. My phone just decides to freeze randomly and will turn off by itself. When double clicking the home button to "close" apps, my phone freezes. I have tried to update to the new IOS 8.1.2, but whenever I choose the "agree" option, my phone doesn't do anything.

I had just been using my Nokia Lumia 1020 with the new 8.1 update. I had left open a webpage I was going to go back to (running on wifi, not my data). Pushed the power button to wake it up and now all I see or can do is view a static screen. It flashes on and off by itself ever so often. What should I do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to ask, after the latest update. It feels like you really need to press down on the power button to get the shut down menu to show up.If i don't press down hard enough or right, the shut down menu shows up then it locks and the lock screen shows up. it's quite straight forward, and I don't remember having to hold down the power button for that long for it to shut down.
