IPhone :: Lawsuits Are Coming / Expect Steve Emails To Stop
Jul 1, 2010
For all those who liked reading about Steve Jobs' emails to people, as obnoxious as they often were, I'm sorry to tell you but they are about to end.
Now that class action lawsuits are springing up all around Apple (one even using a SJ email to a customer as part of the supporting evidence), I can assure you that Apple Legal is putting the brakes on Steve sending out any more emails. He will protest for sure, but the lawyers always win.
This is very strange, for the past few weeks now my device stops receiving emails in the afternoons. Sometimes it's from noon-11pm, other times it's a few hours say from 2pm-5pm. I just can't get my head around it. I'm still collecting mail in my PC inbox but it's not getting pushed to my device and they all come in at once later on. This is just a regular pop mail account like mail.mydomain.com. I've had the same host for years without problem and a blackberry for about 5. It's a blackberry bold 9000 (I've had since Jan 09) and on the Rogers network in Canada.
I want my emails to come in to my S2 only occasionally, eg when I'm away from home for several days. I've got my 'Account settings' - 'Email check frequency' set to 'Never', but they are still coming in.
It appears that only some of my emails are coming through on my phone. I have a hotmail account & have never had this problem before with my iphone. I tried deleting & re-adding the account in the settings. This just made it worse. Now my phone is showing none of my prior messages at all.
My emails are set up to push through 'hourly' but they aren't coming through. It works for a while then they suddenly stop coming through and I have to push them manually.
I have my hotmail account set up to my iPhone and iPad. But I'm not receiving emails straight away. I have just received an important email that was sent at 9am but I didn't get it until 6:30pm same day. I have my push settings on and fetch data set to hourly so I should of got it 10am at the latest.
I looked around the forum and I wasn't sure where to post this (mods please move if you feel it should be moved).Has anyone every wondered why is it that other executives are in the iPod, Macbook Pro, iPad, and iPhone intro videos but Steve Jobs is never in them?I understand Steve Jobs does the main presentation, but he is never an any of those videos.
Fortune is reporting that the latest email exchange between Steve Jobs and a customer was entirely fake, according to statements made by Apple PR. Quote: The conversation was published Thursday by The Boy Genius Report and linked to by more than three dozen other sites. In it, a writer pretending to be Apple's CEO tries several times to mollify a customer called "Tom" who is furious about the iPhone 4's widely reported signal attenuation problem. In separate e-mail messages Jobs purportedly tells "Tom," who grows angrier with each exchange.Boy Genius Report had originally published and vouched for the emails claiming the exchange was legitimate. Apple PR says the entire conversation was fabricated. The statements originally attributed to Steve Jobs included: Quote:
"No, you are getting all worked up over a few days of rumors. Calm down." "You are most likely in an area with very low signal strength." "You may be working from bad data. Not your fault. Stay tuned. We are working on it." "Retire, relax, enjoy your family. It is just a phone. Not worth it."
Note that even before Apple PR's response, BGR had already retracted the last statement that they had originally attributed to Steve Jobs. The "Retire, relax, enjoy your family. It is just a phone. Not worth it." statement was later attributed to the customer, not Steve Jobs. Though, now it appears the entire exchange was fabricated. Adding further doubt to the motivation behind the original email poster, AppleInsider reports that the emailer had shopped the story around to several sites. It's not clear if BGR paid for the the rights to publish the story. Article Link: Apple PR: Latest Steve Jobs Email Exchange is Fake
If preorders are this bad, what should i expect from in store activation? I have work at 4 the day it comes out, do you think it would take less then 3 hours?
how to stop email notifications from coming through? In edit preferences --> email notification preferences I have set everything to "no" yet everything still keeps coming through. After the volume of discussions after the GB release my inbox was blowing up but turning off notifications appears to have no effect...they still keep coming!!
I was pretty surprised that Siri can't search for locations and businesses in Britain yet. I read online that it was expected in 2012, but since we're 4 months into the year already I'm wondering how long it will actually be, surely it cannot be that hard to do?
i got my first blackberry this week and seem to have a problem getting my emails, i started to get them fine then all of a sudden no more have come through.
i have a blackberry curve 8520, and am in spain on the mivistar network.
I have two email accounts set up to show on my blackberry, since yesterday I have received no new emails showing on my phone. I have tried to access them via the set up "Internet mail account" but it comes up with your device had a problem connecting to the server. Is there an issue with the phone, blackberry or my service provider?
my E-mails do not seem to be coming to my torch? Is there a simple solution to this ?It was ok this morning but I have had nothing through since this afternoon!
Since the lollipop update I can't turn off the "new sms message" on my radio while playing music through bluetooth. Before the update I could just turn my phone on vibrate or mute and the alerts wouldn't interrupt my music. I'll be singing along to a song when suddenly the music stops, an alert tone comes on and the "new sms message" pops up on my radio display. It's bad enough that half of my apps stop working randomly for no reason since the update.
I had a curve 8520 previously and never had a problem. Bought this curve 9300 second hand. Have registered my email address and i can send emails. But none are coming through!
Have tried options - advanced options - host routing table - menu- register now. and it hasnt worked.
I have looked and looked for this setting and cannot find it anywhere. My Gmail account is receiving emails if i look online but it isnt automatically bringing them through to my phone unless I press "refresh" in the gmail menu.
Is there a way to disable the motion sensor from constantly waking the phone, without losing notifications for email/texts/etc?
I have disabled all the moto actions, but the clock screen is still constantly coming up whenever the phone moves, such as when I'm walking or it is sitting on the passenger seat in my car! I can make it stop by disabling moto display, but since there's no LED to notify me when I get a text or email, I'll never know....
I have my BB Curve 8520 activated for Enterprise Activation through the BB Desktop Software and have been getting my Business mails in my Inbox and was able to send outgoing messages too. This was working fine only for few hours yesterday and then the incoming emails just stopped. I have started using the BB only from the day before yesterday and think I have selected/deselected some option.
Same thing happened from time to time on my S2. Every time I delete emails, they come back like 4-5 times. I have to delete them multiple times a day before they stay deleted. It doesn't matter if I delete them from my actual Gmail account on my PC, they still keep coming back. It also happens if I go from a WiFi area, to a non-WiFi area. It is SO ANNOYING. And, to make matters worse, I have 3 email accounts linked to my phone, which are all needed for work, so this just confuses me so many times during the day. I cannot work like this for one more second.
Ive had my bb curve for almost 2 years now and all of a sudden my emails have stopped coming to my device, ive tried going into the email setup and its not recognising my user name or password.
There was an update to my phone about ten days ago. Now when I try to reply to any message I get "Cannot Send Mail. A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The recipient xxx@xxxx.com was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying". This has never happened before in the year I have owned the phone.
I have my own domain and I get POP3 emails the domain-provided-email-address forwarded to my POP3-ISP-provided-email address. These arrive on my N5.
I have the N5's incoming server settings set to "...delete emails from server when I delete emails from the device...". Despite this, emails get downloaded to my N5 again and again even after I have deleted them from both the N5's email inbox (accessed via the "yellow @ card going into a white envelope" icon) and also after I deleted them from theN5's Recycle bin.
I understand that POP3 emails are prone to "re-arrive" like this, but if I can just reduce the frequency that this happens, that would be good.
