Jul 29, 2010I looked around the forum and I wasn't sure where to post this (mods please move if you feel it should be moved).Has anyone every wondered why is it that other executives are in the iPod, Macbook Pro, iPad, and iPhone intro videos but Steve Jobs is never in them?I understand Steve Jobs does the main presentation, but he is never an any of those videos.

Jul 1, 2010Fortune is reporting that the latest email exchange between Steve Jobs and a customer was entirely fake, according to statements made by Apple PR. Quote: The conversation was published Thursday by The Boy Genius Report and linked to by more than three dozen other sites. In it, a writer pretending to be Apple's CEO tries several times to mollify a customer called "Tom" who is furious about the iPhone 4's widely reported signal attenuation problem. In separate e-mail messages Jobs purportedly tells "Tom," who grows angrier with each exchange.Boy Genius Report had originally published and vouched for the emails claiming the exchange was legitimate. Apple PR says the entire conversation was fabricated. The statements originally attributed to Steve Jobs included: Quote:
"No, you are getting all worked up over a few days of rumors. Calm down."
"You are most likely in an area with very low signal strength."
"You may be working from bad data. Not your fault. Stay tuned. We are working on it."
"Retire, relax, enjoy your family. It is just a phone. Not worth it."
Note that even before Apple PR's response, BGR had already retracted the last statement that they had originally attributed to Steve Jobs. The "Retire, relax, enjoy your family. It is just a phone. Not worth it." statement was later attributed to the customer, not Steve Jobs. Though, now it appears the entire exchange was fabricated. Adding further doubt to the motivation behind the original email poster, AppleInsider reports that the emailer had shopped the story around to several sites. Jul 16, 2010Apple's iPhone 4 press conference is coming, what will happen on the conference? These are my thoughts, and they make sense.
First, state clearly that signal loss issue is not iPhone 4 exclusive, and make demos with other phones from different manufactures.
Second, explain why so many negative news on Apple flowing recently:
1, Media use iPhone to catch eye balls
2, Competitors over exaggerate this issue to strike on Apple
Finally, give Apple's response:
1, Apple's strike back to competitors: iPhone 4's price will lower to $149 (16GB) and $249 (32GB)
2, Existing customers can choose to get either complete refund or $100 Apple Store credits
3, Customers can almost get 2 Bumpers with the lowered $50, so no free Bumper offering.

Jul 1, 2010For all those who liked reading about Steve Jobs' emails to people, as obnoxious as they often were, I'm sorry to tell you but they are about to end.
Now that class action lawsuits are springing up all around Apple (one even using a SJ email to a customer as part of the supporting evidence), I can assure you that Apple Legal is putting the brakes on Steve sending out any more emails.He will protest for sure, but the lawyers always win.
IPhone :: Set Policy Regarding Exchange Or Repair Of Non-Apple Products Bought In Apple Stores?
Apr 21, 2012The story so far: I bought an accessory in Nov 2011 at an Apple Retail Store. (Philips dual-dock speaker) It started malfunctioning in Mar 2012. (Dock not charging anymore) I brought it to an Apple Store (closer to my place), they were happy to replace it on the spot, except that there was none in stock. So I was advised to go to an other Store (the original one), where they had stock. So far, so good for service. I went to the other store, but there I was told that they could not replace it because I had bought it more than 14 days before, so I had to contact the manufacturer directly! So my questions are:
- What is, if any, the actual policy on non-Apple product repair & replacement?
- Why don't all store follow the same policy?
- Should I just try my luck again with another person, until I strike gold and get it replaced?

Jul 25, 2010I made a purchase for a black bumper and paid $31.60 but when I go to the Apple.com website to check the status of my refund its shows "There is no record of a refund for the receipt number you entered." I tried entering my receipt number plus last 4 of card and I also tried just entering the full CC number as well and get that response for both.
Just wanting to know if anyone has possibly experienced before, wanted to to see if any Macforum members have had this issue and what was the resolution to your issue? Should I just call Apple? Are they giving refunds in store if you take in your receipt?

Mar 23, 2012I have an iPhone 4S with ios 5.1 Whenever I press the home button twice to close some app or something, the phone restarts. There was this same problem yesterday and then automatically it got normal. Before that ,once with this issue I did a recallibration ( opening an app and then pressing and holding the lock button until the switch off slide appears and then holding the home button until I am back on the home screen) which solved my problem. This has happened many times with this phone , even when it was running on iOS 5.0.1.

I noticed that I was pressing very hard, harder than usual, on the phone and that screen began to "flicker" when I removed my finger from the screen it returns to normal. Jun 20, 2012A while back, when texting, the T would not press at all. It cleared up after a few months. Now, several keys will not type or will register another letter. Also, in Twitter or several apps, the button pressed will not connect, but instead another button. It will also move without being pressed as in switching from month view to day view in the calendar completely on its own. The screen will also shake up and down and I lose track of what I am reading. It is very, very aggravating. Has anyone been able to correct this on their iPhone. I have turn it completely off and back on, let it think about itself, etc.
