Jul 18, 2011His text message gets interrupted halfway through by an old message he sent before (be it a previous message from a few minutes ago or from weeks ago!) It only happens with texts from him, no-one else. I've tried deleting our conversation but it makes no difference. It's getting so frustrating cos I have to keep asking him to text me again and a lot of the time I just get another 'cracked' text!

Apr 24, 2012when in text message conversatin with someone, the automatic ballon from them does not show up. I get the recieve sound and the (1) in the message icon at the top. I have to click out by selecting"messages(1)" icon then click back in to view the message.

Jan 25, 2016I have to open the messaging app to see if anybody has texted me. I've missed 2 very important time sensitive text messages already that have burned me.
I also have a band 2 (hate how it manages messages), but this problem occurs even when bluetooth and band 2 is off/not connected.
Nothing shows up on glance/lock screen even if I have messaging chosen to show quick status.

Dec 28, 2015So I have a Samsung S6 Galaxy through Verizon. I also use the Message+ stock app that Verizon has placed on the phone.
My lock screen is disabled through a 3rd party app (No Lock), so when I previously received a text message, my screen would awaken, and a preview of said text message would show up in the status bar.
Now i had to reset my phone, and upon resetting, my phone will still show the blinking LED light, and make the sound associated with receiving a text message. However the screen no longer lights up, so now if i want to read the test message int the status bar, I have to hit the power button to light up my phone. Very annoying.
I have went through the settings where there used to be a checkbox that said "show preview in status bar and lock screen", but that selection no longer seems to be there. I will also say that if my screen is already awake (either if i'm currently using the phone, or the screen hasn't turned off yet), the preview of the text message DOES show up in the status bar.
I will use another app that just awakes my phone when a notification is received...but i don't want something that has pop-ups, widgets, and the like. I really just want my phone to awaken as it did prior due to the reset, without (seeing at least) any add-on's, etc.

When I clicked on the message icon, it would open to the full inbox, just not the conversation with the new text message. I want to know if there is a way I can do this with my iPhone as well.

Aug 18, 2010The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.

May 15, 2012I had an iPhone 4s but left it on my car and drove off. Now I have activated a temporary phone my mom had on hand (Lotus) while I save up for a new iPhone.Is there a list out there in cyber space somewhere that lists all the iPhone numbers because now people who have iPhones send me blank text messages? I have been able to isolate this down to only happening when they send me an "iMessage" but I don`t understand why I keep getting them? May 23, 2012Under messaging under settings, imessage is on..and it shows my phone number under recieve at....but when i text someone that has a iphone it goes thru as a imessage, when i text my boyfriend who also has iphone..it goes to regular texting...but when he replies back to me it goes imessage but with his apple id. How can i fix it to where only his phone number is imessage? is it his settings on his phone or mine? Under contacts i have to have two of him in my phone one for texting and the other for making a phone call.

Jun 11, 2012My wife and I both have an iphone 3gs. For a year or so everything worked great, but now whenever I text her she does not receive any notification (except for a split second small red notifier on the Messages icon) that the text has gone through. If she isn't looking at the Messages icon at that exact instant she wont' know I've texted her. She has to open up Messages and the text is then visible.Sometimes when we're texting each other the messages read as if I am texting myself.All of the texts are on the right side of the screen.And sometimes the phone says the text is coming from my phone when it's actually coming from her phone.This is a nuisance.When I need to send a text I'm not sure if it's being received or not.It seems like this problem started when I opened up my iCloud account.Nothing seems to fix it.Also, when my daughter uses her iPod Touch to text me it says it's coming from my wife. And, when she receives texts from her friends it comes to my phone in addition to her iPod Touch. Very confusing.No one at the Apple store could help. They just kind of pushed me along.

Jun 2, 2012I'm thinking of abandoning the I-Phone altogether because of two annoyances that get only worse, not better, with time. But if any newer I-Phone (I currently have the 3GS) has removed these annoyances, I will upgrade.
1. I want txt alerts to continue (every minute or two) until I have opened and read a text message. Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
2. I want to disable predictive text as I don't like the I-Phone algorhthym for this -- it causes me endless grief. Which model allows for this?
3. I want my battery to last a minimum of 2 days without charging (I've tried all the usual ways of reducing battery consumption and the result does not meet my needs). Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
