Sep 8, 2010Is anyone else with a jailbroken app having a problem with the home button not always responding to clicks? Sometimes I need to click it 2 or 3 times. Seems like a software issue too.
Also on sbsettings when i adjust brghtness it changes, but when I turn the phone to sleep and wake it up, it's back to the old brightness.

May 31, 2012For a while now my home button has been sporadically unresponsive - I'd press it a couple times and then it'd work. This morning however, it won't respond at all, which means once I enter an application I can't exit it at all. I can't reboot it by pressing the Home/Wake buttons together either, since obviously the home button isn't working, and I'd rather not restart it every time I want to do something.
I think this is more a hardware problem than anything else and means I might need to get my phone replaced, but it's out of its 1 year warranty period. I kept dropping it, even with a case on.

Jun 4, 2012My iPhone 4 dropped in the water. I tried to switch off it but sensor and home button momentally stopped working. There was no any tools to open back side and take out the battery. So it was switched on about 5 hours. After 5 hours I totally disassembled and dried all parts. It starts working but... Now battery does not working. I changed the old battery but nothing changed. When it plugged in to the computer via USB cable (without battery) It tries to switch on but rebooting every 10 second. But with battery, it tries to switch on and sometimes it loads everything and there is all my application and data but it reboots momentally. So there is little difference when it switching on with battery and without battery. Other parts working properly.

Apr 6, 2012I have a new Macbook Pro that I've had for a few weeks. My iPhone 4 16GB from Verizon won't connect to iTunes. I nuked iTunes, reinstalled it, turn my iPhone into recovery mode, but the entire time I have to hold down the Home button, that is the only way it will connect and stay connected to iTunes. I have iOS 5.1 for my iPhone, had to hold down Home the entire time. Does anyone know what the problem is or how I can fix it? I really don't want to hold down Home everytime I want to connect to iTunes.

I figured it might be temporary and have waited until now. It is now completely unresponsive and I can no longer press it at all. Both of the water damage indicators are white from what I can see and the actual device has very minimal damage from regular use.

Dec 6, 2014got an iPhone 4 which I'm trying to set up so it's childproof.. now I can set up good restrictions etc and turn off find my iphone so it can't be restored to factory settings remotely.. but if they plug it into itunes they can just reset it and overwrite all my fancy settings?Â

Jul 5, 2012My buttons seemed to have stopped working properly. In order to adjust the volume using the side button, I have to shut down the phone and then restart it. It will work for a while and then stops working and I have to go thru the process again. The home button just works whenever it wants. It doesn't fix the problem when I restart the phone. I can slide my finger in a circle around the button and it still doesn't work.

Mar 22, 2012So the other day, I had plugged my roughly 2 year old iPhone 3GS into my macbook pro to charge, when it suddenly had a strange crash and said it needed to be restored. It took several hours to finally restore after many -1 errors. Now however, it cannot start syncing so I cant go back to the way my iphone was before the restore. Also, I can't use wifi or iMessage - it says that my username or password must have changed when it hasn't at all, and the wifi option is just gray, I cant even open it in settings. Nothing seems to be working, except basic texting and calling.

Apr 26, 2012I recently restored my iPhone4 on my Mac computer and I'm absolutely freaking out because my iTunes will not locate the correct backup (even when I left click on the iPhone icon in iTunes tool bar and select "Restore from Backup"). However, I can locate the file on my computer from the Library/ApplicationSupport/MobileSync/Backup. I've tried dragging it a bunch of different places/renaming the file to get it to show up in iTunes but nothing's working I saw that before I completed the most recent backup, it said the date before that was around mid-Jan 2012. The only backup file my iTunes can find is from 2010! My phone is not jail broken but if that's what it would take to get all of my data back.... I'm basically deserate.

i had a back up sync on my laptop with th eold iphone. but when i got a new one i wasnt unable to sync that wil the old content on the laptop. It asked me for a software upgrade. I connected the new phone to another laptop and got the software upgarded.. but unfortunately when i syned the new phone with the itunes restiored on my phone.. nothing got synced except whatsapp. I lost my photos, contacts and videos.. is there any way if i use the "reset sync history" i will be able to get the contents of my old phone on this new iphone.?Â
