Apr 17, 2012Recently, I have been very irritated with my iphone's music playback because the volume is inconsistent. For almost every song, as it starts playing it will start at a normal volume then decrease suddenly to a common level. It sounds like the volume difference created by sound check. Besides this, doing things such as skipping, turning shuffle on/off, turning repeat on/off, and other minor things will change the volume. the most notable is skipping, which reverts the volume back to the loud version (as if sound check was off), while turning shuffle and repeat on/off only changes the volume slightly (barely noticeable unless playing at a loud volume). I have tried to ignore it for all this time. it would be nice if apple had a simple email contact option to ask questions as well, but apparently they either don't or it is impossible to find, and that ****** me off even more.

Jul 27, 2010One thing I have noticed with my new iPhone 4 (and I am guessing it is an iOS 4.0 thing) is that my ring volume affects the alarm volume. On my 3Gs, it did not matter what my ring volume was set at, when I set the alarm to go off, it played at full volume which I like. I am always changing the volume on my ringer depending on where I am so now I find that sometimes it is on low when an alarm goes off and now I don't hear it.

Mar 26, 2012I noticed after updating to IOS 5.1 that whenever I play music - it is on "shuffle" all the time - whether the shuffle button is actually enabled or not. Also, touching the skip track skips around, skipping ahead 2-4 songs, or back 2-4 songs - as if it's on shuffle all the time.
I deleted all music from the iPhone, checked my playlist that I sync to the iPhone, and resync'ed all the music - same problem.
Why is it on "permanent shuffle"?

May 30, 2012When I open my music app, there should be the replay and shuffle buttons on the top of the app, under the song title, but the other day they disappeared after I downloaded a podcast. I have restarted my phone, updated, and restored, but nothing has fixed it. I can still choose shuffle from the playlist screen, but if i choose a specific song, it won't let me shuffle.

Jun 23, 2014I Have iPhone 5s and for the past month when I play my music while running it keeps shuffling. I have the shake to shuffle off and in my playlist the shuffle is off when I start running but after the first song plays it shuffles and on the playlist current song playing has shuffle on so again I turn it off and after one song it is back with shuffle on. It does it only when I run if I'm walking the shuffle does not turn itself back on. since I have had this phone since last year when the 5s came out and have never had this problem during running until the last month.

Aug 31, 2011I always use the onboard Music player and I always have the Shuffle feature ON.Before the Anna update, I could press "Back" pick a song in the list and continue listening in shuffle mode.
After Anna update, every time I press back and pick a song shuffle gets disabled. I really don't like that and the fact that it does something I didn't ask it to do. I just picked a song, I didn't pick "disable shuffle as well".

Jun 24, 2011The volume stops working(no notification sounds, no ringtone, etc...) I'll press the volume toggle to attempt to check the volume and the volume screen will appear, however the level indicator is unresponsive. I press the volume toggle 2 or 3 times and the phone reboots. The sound will work for another 3-4 hours then the same issue. VZW replaced the phone yesterday and the same problem has reappeared on the new device. Contacted Moto and VZW aggain today and was told to, once again, do a master reset.

Apr 6, 2012I have synced several artists onto my iphone 4s with ios5 and either some of the artists aren't being listed, or not all the albums that I synced for said artists are showing up when I touch the artist. I have called apple and have resynced, restored, re-everything that had to do with itunes and my phone and there has been no help. From the home screen, I select my library, then the artist (I use artist view), then the album, then the first song in the list. If I let it play to the end or hit the "next" button, a random song in the list plays instead of the next song. Mar 12, 2012When restarted my computer and reconnects my iPhone, it now prompts saying that iPhone in recovery mode and I must restore before it can be used with iTunes. I am very sure there's 2 backup copies in my (default designated) computer folder, with one being dated 12Mar (the day of updating). I browsed the computer folder while waiting for the downloads in iTunes.
However the backup folder is now empty!! and I can't restore to any previous backup, and my phone cannot be turn on. The iTunes restore button asked if I wanted to restore to original factory settings. How could this happen?!! My Recycle bin has this item "iPhone3,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw".
How can I retreive my previous phone backup, or just return to iOS5.0.1 with its data prior to the 5.1?

Apr 7, 2012A few days ago I dropped my phone on the ground. Since then, my battery lasts no more than 2 hours tops. I suppose it would be a hardware issue, yeah? And regular Apple Care doesn't cover a drop, correct? (The glass is slightly cracked as well).

My player got stuck with shuffle enabled and hitting the shuffle button would shuffle the play queue and there was no longer anyway to disable shuffle. After reboot, it fixed itself but the shuffle button still shuffled the play queue. That said, I like the change. The shuffle function had an amazing number of repeat songs. Now you can go through a whole playlist without getting a repeat.
