IPhone :: Can't Send IMessages To Contacts Containing Both An Email And A Phone Number

This issue started with the last iOS update and has affected not only my phone, but my wife's and father in law's as well (we all have the exact same model) When I attempt to send a text message to my wife, my phone suddenly won't send imessages anymore. Only text. I have tried rebooting my phone, and my wife's phone. We have even tried wiping our phones and restoring them from backups. The problem still persists, wether we are at home connected to wifi or out of the house on 3G. The only way I have managed to send my wife an imessage was by creating a new contact with ONLY her e-mail address. That only worked once. since then, its trying to send everything as SMS again.
This is unacceptable as we live in an area with very poor celular coverage and rely heavily on wifi connections, therefore we won't receive an SMS until our phones get access to the celular network. All other apps and phone functions are working correctly across all 3 phones mentioned. On both my phone, and my wife's, I have double checked to ensure that iMessage is still turned on. I suspect that this is a global software issue seeing as it only started once we updated our phones to the latest iOS. My question is this:
Prior to the update, we were all able to send iMessages to eachother, regardless of where we were. The only time we'd have an issue is if someone's phone was turned off or not connected to either the celular 3G network or a wifi with internet access (which is natural).

Mar 28, 2010I have noticed that i am unable to send an email to a person if i enter the email in the TO: section of the compose email. If i am replying to an email or clicking on a link like craigslist it works fine. If i am sending the email to a contact with a stored email address it works fine.
But if i just enter the email address for instance JRSpero@gmail.com the little send box in the upper right corner is not bright and is not able to be selected.

I have upgraded to iOS 8.1.1 and noticed strange behavior - standard SMS not sending anymore to people, I had conversation with. To new contacts SMS works fine. So the only workaround is to kill the whole thread, but I don't want to miss so much information. Also resetted the SMS message center number.

Apr 23, 2012I have just upgraded from a 3gs and used to regularly send a single text to 16 people. Now when I try and do this I hit "send" and nothing happens. When I compose a new message I can only add 10 recipients and then no more. I've downloaded the app Groups and can send a group text from there, but when anyone replies to my text it gets sent to everyone in the group. I just want to text 16 or so people and have them reply to me only. I organise a weekly game of football. There's no need for everyone's texts to go to everyone.It appears that the technology has gone backwards.

Jan 14, 2010I wonder if anyone can help me with this problem please. I have recently purchased a BB-Bold 9700 and transferred my settings from my old Bold. I have to email addresses (both Gmail) registered which appear on my main screen. The push email works fine! However, whenever I send an email, I cannot see the sent mail in the individual email folders but only in the main messages folder which is very annoying and confusing. Here's what I have tried sofar:
1. I tried to go into options and mark "No" in the section indicated hide my sent messages.
2. I tried going into filter and ticking sent messages. They appear but once you press the back button they disappear again.
3. I tried going onto the BB website and I successfully downloaded the newest software update (5.0.0.4) but still it did not resolve the problem....
Do I need to wipe off the whole device? Can someone please help because I'm very confused and frustrated with this issue.....
