How can I get the volume profiles feature on the iPhone that the BB had? I do not want to be annoyed with every facebook post to my wall during the night. I only want to hear phone calls & voicemails. How can I create volume profiles on the iPhone? One profile can be VOICEMAIL only, another could be calls + VoiceMails, and then another could be all alerts.
View 1 RepliesI am on my 3rd curve. The problem is that they warranty them out for 1 year from the first date of purchase and now mine is out of warranty Alltel says (this one is 2 months old). My problem is that my ringer volume is almost non existent. I've turned the volume up in the profiles and everything and still nothing. media is too quiet also. I've found that the only way is to use headphones and plug it in the jack. Is my speaker shot?

View 24 Replies View RelatedThe volume warning that pops up when you are plugged into the headphone jack with the volume at 30. The fact that it automatically turns my volume down to 13 is maddening! And it does this at a seemingly random interval.
Any way to turn this super ridiculous "feature" off? It never fails that I'm listening to music, or a podcast, through my portable stereo plugged into the aux jack, and lets just say I was changing spark plugs in a Jeep (hypothetically speaking of course) and I couldn't get to the phone to turn it back up and dismiss the nanny message... Even if I had a set of headphones plugged in, who is Nokia to tell me at what level I can have the volume set?
Took away the wonderful feature of the stock alarm starting out at low volume and increasing to full volume....I want it back! The wonderfully useful & simple Sticky Note, and the neat & simple Weather widget, and I just discovered the Alarm-Timer is now just an alarm (no timer) and is without the increasing volume feature, they are all gone in JB.

One thing I have noticed with my new iPhone 4 (and I am guessing it is an iOS 4.0 thing) is that my ring volume affects the alarm volume. On my 3Gs, it did not matter what my ring volume was set at, when I set the alarm to go off, it played at full volume which I like. I am always changing the volume on my ringer depending on where I am so now I find that sometimes it is on low when an alarm goes off and now I don't hear it.

Every app I have that requires volume to listen works fine. But when I close the app, my ringer volume level is still in app mode volume. The app volume completely takes over my ringer volume level although in settings it never really changed. In order for me to get my ringer volume back to it's set volume, I have to go into settings and move the volume up or down. Then and only then do I have control over the ringer volume with the buttons on the side of the phone.

If there is a way that I can have a CAR profile that keeps the screen lit permanently and turns off the Device Lock, so I can just select that profile and not have to change each setting all the time, it would be great!Does anyone know such a utility? I get the Personalise menu item but pressing it just results in nothing happening. Yes I've restarted my phone too
One of my bosses just came to me with their 8310 and they are having a pecuilar problem. They were complaning about not hearing their phone ringing, so I attempted to go to their 'Profiles' icon to fix the settings, but it was missing. I then unhid everything and it still didn't show up. I restarted the phone and checked the hide/unhide settings again and still nothing. Does anyone have any idea where the profile went or how I can get it back?
