I came up with error 1604 while trying to load the latest update to my iphone 4s. Now the phoe is locked and itunes says it nees to restart the phone, but it can't.

I've tried four times to download it and when it almost reaches completion it just freezes there and won't finish or transfer the update to my phone. Because of this I can now not download the latest update, or any new apps. Any ideas because this is driving me crazy!!
