IPhone :: Encrypted Email In IOS / Exchange Domain?
Jun 4, 2012
i'm using encrypted email time to time on my PC using outlook 2012 and a smartcard.... fine my iphone is set up with this exchange account... fine I was not able to read encryted email (normal!) untill i've exported my certificate to the iphone good but now:when the certificate is active: i cannot distinguish encrypted email from non-encrypted ones; and if I forward these encrypte email, there are not crypted anymore...so if I activate s/mime in the exchange account on ios, then all my email all encrypted.... how can I toggle easily between encrypted and encrypted ? as I can do it easily on my PC outool?
I've spent some time researching this but if you know of a thread please point me. basically researching it made my head spin.I have my own domain. Its hosted at register.com. I use their email client. Its web based and supports real IMAP commands so I use Mozilla email client on my laptop since Outlook SUCKS *** at IMAP. (sorry venting) So me experience with blackberry is that unless you use a BIS server A) you suck batteries and B) it slows the ***** out of your BB.Can someone give me some advice? Im on cricket and BB is new to them. Im not sure if I can move my domain to them. Im afraid to even call them as my blood pressure will skyrocket their support is horrible. but I do enjoy the pricepoint/value of cricket as Im unemployed right now and for $60 a month I can enjoy unlimited everything with BB service $40 without BB. which is what I have now. So what to do when you have your own domain and want the BB to operate well?
My boss is having trouble recieving e-mails on his BlackBerry Bold 9000. He has had the phone for about eight months and has experienced no problems until last Friday. He stopped recieving mail on his phone out of the blue, so he took the unit to his local AT&T store and they said it was a problem with the domain.
We reset his e-mail password and he is now recieving the following error message when we try to register the account with BlackBerry Internet Service using the AT&T setup page:
Email address domain not found: I have done some research on the web and these forums trying to find people experiencing the same problem. Based on that, I've done an MX lookup, a DNS lookup, etc. and encountered no problems with the domain. It is an established address that has been in use for more than two years. The domain is [URL]
I have tried entering the specific address of the mail server under Advanced Setup, but to no avail. We have three other employees currently recieving mail on their BlackBerry devices using the same domain and nobody else is experiencing problems.
I also tried creating a new e-mail address on the domain and synching that one, but I just recieved the same message.
I am unable to add an e-mail account to my bis account.
The error message I get back is
The email address domain cannot be found. I setup the mail host myself and I can send/receive e-mail just fine in outlook. The domain is tmconcepts.ca . I think it might be a dns issue but I am not sure.
I have a Blackberry Torch on Vodafone UK which I've been using for several months very happily. I had set up two email addresses - a hotmail.com account and an email account with my own domain name (name@namesurname.co.uk). Up until this morning they were working just fine.
This morning I noticed that a lot of emails were coming into Outlook on my PC but not coming to my handset. I sent test messages from my handset and they never arrived in Outlook. So I resent the service books, got the usual "set up successful" message, but still nothing. I did a hard reset, but no change.I logged in to Vodafone's BIS site and removed the mydomain email account, as in the past when I have had problems removing it and re-adding it seemed to fix it. However, now I can't put it back on! Even when I add the additional data via the website I get the following message:
An error occurred during email account validation. I tried the same process via the handset and get a similar error message:Invalid email address or password. Verify your email address and password. If the error persists, contact namesurname.co.uk (i.e. my domain)
Now, I know that the password is correct as I am using the same one to log into my webmail and to get emails in Outlook. I have checked the email server in cPanel for my domain. So as far as I'm concerned all of the info is correct.
What else can I try? I've set up a forwarder for my domain mail to a newly created vodafone mail account in the meantime, but it's not ideal as this doesn't have the "delete on mailbox and handheld" option. Unfortunately I've tried calling Vodafone twice - the first person I spoke to said he would ring me back in under two hours, and that was five hours ago. The second person was far from helpful. Please help, this is very frustrating!
(Update: I have also changed the password for my email account to ensure that it is DEFINITELY the right one, and deleted almost all the messages from the inbox (there were some over 8MB which may have been causing the problem). I have also completely deleted my BIS account and started again from scratch. Still no joy.)
I am a very new purchaser of this Blackberry. Most things seem to be working just fine. I have successfully set up my AOL email address so I am receiving AOL emails on the Blackberry. I also have my own domain name for use on my PC. I have tried adding that email address to the Blackberry but it is being rejected.
When I try to setup and email account for our company on BIS I get Email Address Domain cannot be found. The domain is arsnet.com I have other users who use pop3/imap with outlook with no problems. Does anyone know what the BIS looks for to validate a domain. Does it need some special DNS entry or something.
I am trying to add a second exchange email to my iphone, but when I do that it says it can not get the emails. I know the information is correct, so I am just wondering if it is possible to add two different exchange emails (from two different servers), to the phone.
All my new emails coming in using exchange come in with no sender. It is only until I read my email from my computer does it know who the sender is. I am unable to reply to any email. This started directly after I jailbroke my iPhone 4. Is anyone else having this issue it is very annoying.
I have recently updated from a 3GS to a iPhone 4S with IOS5.1.I run my small business using Microsoft Exchange 2003 hosted by my ISP.This arrangement worked fine with the 3GS but I'm having problems with the 4S.When opening mail it is either endlessly "connecting" or "checking for mail".Push mail works OK but often only downloads the header and not the full message - when you open the mail it is always "loading" the rest of the message. I have tried deleting my iCloud account and resetting my networks as recommended by others but neither have solved the problem.
I'm having a problem with the Exchange account on my iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1). Gmail and Hotmail both work fine, but Exchange frequently freezes and will not update at all. Usually restarting the phone fixes the problem, but not this time. I've restarted 3 times to no avail - the account hasn't updated in 15 hours.
Not sure what is going on, but I can no longer get my Exchange email. I can send to my self, but the email only shows on my laptop and not on my iPhone.
I just set up an exchange email with my outlook on my pc. We do not use gmail. I want to be able to have my calendar and contacts sync automatically. However, if I delete mail from my phone, I do NOT want it deleted from my computer.
My company exchange email was working perfectly, but suddenly stop , i don't know is due of the iPhone upgrade or as well my company upgrade to exchange to 2010 When i enter my account it's verifying my credentiality, but can't receive or send emails, always failure to connect to the server While outlook is working perfectly in my home network same network my iPhone is connected.
I've recently changed my iPhone's e-mail settings so gmail is IMAP instead of Exchange. This is so Mail can use all my email aliases without crazy workarounds. However, I'm no longer seeing any new emails coming in via the notification center, e.g. on the lock screen. I see them come in with another account that's remained exchange. are new emails only shown in the notification center if they come from an exchange account?
I am trying to save a PDF attachment from my email which is on my work iphone (exchange email) so i can access it long term and also if i do not have network access at the time. I want to save the attachment as i do not have a history of all my emails on my iphone as i get heaps. I can't seem to work out how/where i can attach it.
I am trying to set up my company email and keep getting "password incorrect " it's a google.com server address can't see I know the password is correct as I can log in from other devices on this?
i replaced my iphone 4s with a new iphone 4s and it works fine except i cannot get access to email because it keeps asking for my exchange password and i dont know what it is. i only have perosanal email.
I'm an ASU student so my email ends in @asu.edu. However its a Gmail account and I just got a new iPhone and I would really like to set it up through the mail app but it won't let me. Every time I type my email and password in the phone says: "The user name or password for [URL] is incorrect"...but I know it isn't.
I have an iPhone with the latest update 5.1 and I'm configuring the Organization's email on it. The problem I'm facing is that the emails will keep redownloading again and again.
First when I configure the account it works well and downloads all emails, then after some time when I re-open mail application on iPhone, the emails will be downloaded again.
I have random emails that show up in my inbox and then get sent to my deleted folder automatically. Does anyone know what is casusing this and what the solution to fix it. Recently I have deleted the exchange account and reinstalled to see if that would help. This started happening after the latest upgrade. I'm using a iphone 4S
Fortune is reporting that the latest email exchange between Steve Jobs and a customer was entirely fake, according to statements made by Apple PR. Quote: The conversation was published Thursday by The Boy Genius Report and linked to by more than three dozen other sites. In it, a writer pretending to be Apple's CEO tries several times to mollify a customer called "Tom" who is furious about the iPhone 4's widely reported signal attenuation problem. In separate e-mail messages Jobs purportedly tells "Tom," who grows angrier with each exchange.Boy Genius Report had originally published and vouched for the emails claiming the exchange was legitimate. Apple PR says the entire conversation was fabricated. The statements originally attributed to Steve Jobs included: Quote:
"No, you are getting all worked up over a few days of rumors. Calm down." "You are most likely in an area with very low signal strength." "You may be working from bad data. Not your fault. Stay tuned. We are working on it." "Retire, relax, enjoy your family. It is just a phone. Not worth it."
Note that even before Apple PR's response, BGR had already retracted the last statement that they had originally attributed to Steve Jobs. The "Retire, relax, enjoy your family. It is just a phone. Not worth it." statement was later attributed to the customer, not Steve Jobs. Though, now it appears the entire exchange was fabricated. Adding further doubt to the motivation behind the original email poster, AppleInsider reports that the emailer had shopped the story around to several sites. It's not clear if BGR paid for the the rights to publish the story. Article Link: Apple PR: Latest Steve Jobs Email Exchange is Fake
I have just updated my iphone software and now I have problem to download my email from microsoft exchange outside my office. The email will be automatically updated when I am in the office (using wifi) but will stop connecting outside the office even though the wifi or 3G is available.
My Exchange is currently set up to sync with my work email, with a secondary Exchange for my gmail emails. I have a new job now and no longer have access to the original main Exchange account, so need to delete this. However given that I have been using this Calendar for personal appointments / events I don't want to lose all this info. How do I either backup my current Exchange calendar to iCloud, or to some other format that I can then re-import under a new Exchange account?
I am trying to connect my exchange email to my iPhone without using active sync. I am able to connect it to the Mac mail program on my MacBook pro with out ay issues. Can this be done on the iPhone? Please instruct.
