May 16, 2012Today I went running using Runkeeper app with a friend of mine. I have an iPhone 4S, he has the 4.We both used the same app, and ran the same track. Since it is an official track, we know the exact distance. It should be 11,4 km (7.13 miles).My phone told me I ran 12,07 km (7,54 miles). This is way off, and screws up my average speeds etc.The funny thing is, that the iphone 4 of my friend had an accurate 11,4 km. The conditions were the same; bit cloudy, bit rain, bit sun. Some trees above, some open sky. The only difference I can think of is that he has an jailbroken iphone and I do not, and his is a 4. I have an iPhone cover (Moshi something), he doesn't. In my opinion he should be the one having inaccurate GPS, not me.

If there were no additional bugs or functions, then is it even worth going back and installing the official release? Having to transfer 28GB of files is such a tedious project.

May 3, 2012I recently downloaded the iphoto app to my iPhone 4s. I am hoping to clear up some space on my iphone and I deleted some pics from what I thought was the camera roll within iphoto. I noticed later that while attempting to change my wallpaper, I noticed that pics I thought I deleted were still on the phone as evidenced by their availability to be used as wallpaper. I checked that I had selected cameral roll and not photostream, where it would make sense the photos would still be there. When I left settings I noticed that I have iphoto and the phots app on my iphone. Do I need both? And if i want to delete photos, do I need to delete photos from the cameral roll within iphoto AND the photos app??

My question is: is there that big of a noticeable difference in quality between those and a $1.99 screen protector from Meritline?
I used the Incipio Feather on my 3GS, and used the screen protector included. It was clear; I had no trouble applying it; it didn't feel "orange peely" - it basically worked fine.
Does anyone have comparison pics (even on an old phone) that shows the diff between generic cheapo films, and the ones that cost 10x as much?

May 20, 2012I've owned an iPhone 4 for the last 2 years, but have now upgraded to a different device.
I still have my old iPhone 4 in my possession, running 5.0.1. I have removed the micro-sim card from my iPhone and it is now in my new device (which is NON-apple).
To my horror, I text a friend (an iPhone user) from my new handset, only for my OLD iPhone to receive his reply! Obviously I was shocked, as my iMessages were set up by telephone number and NOT by my Apple-ID. I didn't understand this, as my phone number (SIM card) is no longer in my iPhone, it is in my new device.
Now having Googled this, I can see that this is something that is affecting a massive amount of people world wide. I cannot believe a company like Apple would allow this to happen, especially with the current world concern about privacy and security!!!
Anyhooo, my question is this: I have my old iPhone 4 in my possession. HOW DO I STOP iMessages going to my old handset?!When the device is erased, will the new owner still be able to set up iMessages as if it is a brand new handset?Once iMessages are prevented going to my old iPhone, will I start to receive messages from my friends as a normal SMS on my new phone (currently this is not the case, ALL texts go to my old iPhone which I ceased using a week ago. EVEN WITH iMESSAGES turned OFF, I still do not receive the message on my NEW device with the SIM card inserted in it)
I have read that removing the sim card, and cycling iMessages (Off then back On) before resetting/erasing. I don't want "maybe's" or "possiblys" in this case. My concern here is my privacy and protection of information that is only for me to see!
