my imessages on my iphone 4 isnt working , I'm connected to wifi, and texting someone with an iphone 4 like mine , and it worked before .. but all of a sudden it stopped working..
My best friend and I both have iPhone 4s' and have been using iMessage since we got the phones back in December with no problems. Last Wednesday, we updated our iPhones to the newest iOS 5.1 update. The following day, she had turned her phone off because her wifi was acting up and wouldn't send her iMessages. She fell asleep before turning her phone back on. When i sent her a text, it was saying "sent as text message" under the couple texts I had sent her. When she woke up and turned her phone back on, iMessage wouldn't work and continued to send as texts. The next day she found that if we turn our "send as SMS" off, iMessage started working again. The same thing happened again last night and we tried the "send as SMS" thing again and it's still not working. We have tried everything and can't figure out how to get iMessage working for us again. This problem didn't ever occur until iOS 5.1 update
My iMessages stopped working. I tried to turn off iMessages and back on, then tried to activate with my email address and when I try to sign in with apple id it goes to the screen where it shows the email address, and when I hit next it displays "verifying" and then goes back to the sign in page. I am currently not in range for cellular signal but I am on wifi. Shouldn't I be able to sign in with just my email address, as now it does not display my phone # because I do not have a cellular signal?
I have an iphone 5, my fiance has an iphone 4. Our imessages to each other aren't working. I can get them and send them to other people on my contact list and so can he. I am up to date with software and he says he is too but we can't communicate via imessage. This has been happening for several days now. I have tried signing out and back in, turning the phone off and back on, and have tried other troubleshooting issues I have seen online but nothing is working. We can call each other and Facetime but can't imessage ....
I was sharing a single apple account with my husband. I decided to get my own apple account when I changed phone carriers. However, iMessages doesn't work now, and the phone number is greyed out and can't be selected. How can I make iMessages work?
I had this problem at little while ago and it seemed to fix itself but now my iMessage has stopped working again, but only to my wifes iPhone. I'm not sure if it's related to the iOS update but i think it was working ok after that?I have a iPhone 4, she has a 3GS. They are both registered on the same apple ID I cannot send her iMessages but when she sends me texts (via iMessage) i receive them as messages but from my email address We are both in areas with 3G or wireless networks I have tried all of the suggestions that I have found on here and nothing is working on my phone!
Is there a way to recover old iMessages? Are these messages held in the network somewhere? If so, how easy is it to recover them? I need to look up some messages for a file of mine.
For the last couple of days when sending text to my friends who are also iPhone users my messages Have a sending delay. My phone will make the sent sound & then under the text it will say sent as Text Message. I have all bars and on wifi?
Not sure what's going on but my iPhone isn't sending iMessages. It worked fine on Saturday. I received an iMessage as a "text" and can't return messages.
I have a work Apple ID and a personal Apple ID. I don't take my work iPad home, but co-workers need to send me messages after I've left for the day. Can I set up my work Apple ID on my iPhone? When I try to add it, it says it's already in use.
I have iPhone 4S. I can't send iMessages through 3G, it works on Wi-Fi but receiver gets it from my email address instead of my phone number. What should I do?
I've owned an iPhone 4 for the last 2 years, but have now upgraded to a different device.
I still have my old iPhone 4 in my possession, running 5.0.1. I have removed the micro-sim card from my iPhone and it is now in my new device (which is NON-apple).
To my horror, I text a friend (an iPhone user) from my new handset, only for my OLD iPhone to receive his reply! Obviously I was shocked, as my iMessages were set up by telephone number and NOT by my Apple-ID. I didn't understand this, as my phone number (SIM card) is no longer in my iPhone, it is in my new device.
Now having Googled this, I can see that this is something that is affecting a massive amount of people world wide. I cannot believe a company like Apple would allow this to happen, especially with the current world concern about privacy and security!!!
Anyhooo, my question is this: I have my old iPhone 4 in my possession. HOW DO I STOP iMessages going to my old handset?!When the device is erased, will the new owner still be able to set up iMessages as if it is a brand new handset?Once iMessages are prevented going to my old iPhone, will I start to receive messages from my friends as a normal SMS on my new phone (currently this is not the case, ALL texts go to my old iPhone which I ceased using a week ago. EVEN WITH iMESSAGES turned OFF, I still do not receive the message on my NEW device with the SIM card inserted in it)
I have read that removing the sim card, and cycling iMessages (Off then back On) before resetting/erasing. I don't want "maybe's" or "possiblys" in this case. My concern here is my privacy and protection of information that is only for me to see!
Info: iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1, SIM card removed to new device.
I misplaced my iPhone 5c and activated my old iPhone 4S. Can I access my iMessages I had from my 5c? My phone was backed up on iCloud, but I did not have it synced with my computer.
My phone can't recieve iMessages all of a sudden. I can still send iMessages with my phone and both my iPad and Mac can send and recieve iMessages. I've tried following the troubleshooting, but nothing works. What's going on?
I would like to get myself a new iPhone 6, but I'm hesitant in buying a new phone because I don't want to lose any of my iMessages, is there anyway I can do a mirror image of all my iMessages and texts from my current phone onto the new iPhone 6?
On my iPhone, I noticed that the "Other" file in iTunes had grown. I also remember hearing that "Other" was your app data (like Angry Birds high scores), Text messages/iMessages, and so on. I was wondering if it was possible to delete older Messages (any messages older then a month ago) and not the newer ones.
this just started today, my iphone 4s no longer recieves emails, yet it can send them. I have an aol account, and it says it can't open the aol email address that I have saved on the phone, and it shows that the mail as not been updated since 1:42 am this morning. It shows its checking for mail but then just stops.my imessage just randomly stopped working now too. I checked the settings and it shows its on.
