IPhone :: Copy Content From 4 To A Brand New Mac With A Blank ITunes Library?
May 24, 2012
I had a MacBook Air and a 6 year old desktop PC. Everything I had was on both of them, so they acted as each other's back up. This Sunday evening just gone, my PC finally died a traumatic death, and I can't even get it to boot from Safe Mode. Then on Monday while I was at work, my house was burgled, and my MacBook Air was stolen, amongst many other things. All I have now is my iPhone 4S which was with me at the time. All my music, photos, videos etc are on my iPhone, but I'm very aware that when I eventually get my replacement MacBook from our insurance company (I'm being realistic and accepting that I'll never see my stuff again), as soon as I plug my phone into a blank iTunes library, I'll lose everything that's on there. Obviously I can re-download everything I've purchased from iTunes, though it will take a VERY long time and I still won't have playlists etc, and I can probably either Dropbox or email what photos I have on there, but I have a lot of video clips from over the last few years that aren't on my camera roll - they're in the phone as proper videos, in the video player app, and I can't get Dropbox to view that location, or figure out how to email them. The videos are very important to me and I really don't want to lose them; so much so that I'm thinking of never syncing my iPhone ever again! Basically, what I'm asking is, how can I copy everything from my iPhone into a blank iTunes library?
I don't know how to copy the content of my Iphone to Itunes. I want to update the software of my Iphone, but I always get the warning, I will lose information. And when I want to synchronise music, my music will be overwritten.
I think the problem is, that my laptop is not the first computer I installed Itunes on, but my old computer doesn't work anymore.
it is possible to transfer your music library from a 1st gen Ipod touch to your itunes library on a Mac book pro. I have alomost 3000 songs as well as playlists on my Ipod and cant find anyway to transfer theses to my itunes library, meaning i can't add them to my 4s.
6 months ago i synced my photos (950 of them) to my laptop. But my laptop crashed and i needed to restore it default, so what i did was i copied all synced photos back to my iphone to act as a temporary storage of my photos. but now im about to sell my iphone 4 and i need to transfer my photos back to my laptop i cant seem to do it!!! and im here and ive spent a good 5 hours researching and downloading third party apps just to do that to no success. Im getting frustrated as this should be a walk in the park but its complicated as **** with this phone. Im starting to hate this phone now as this shoud be very easy (just a copy paste) job for older phones with memory cards. ive used iExplore but it doesnt work it just shows the camera roll pictures which consists of recent ones but not the photo library ones..
I was given a copy of fast 5 which was a bluray with dvd and also digital copy.
I selected the digital copy to be in iTunes rather then Windows Media Player since figure more chance of viewing in future if I get a iPad or something.
So it downloaded to my iTunes put it in my movies section, then I connected my iPhone to iTunes and click sync Movies and made sure it was selected.
But now I get a error message stating "Fast Five was not copied to the iPhone "Lanky71" because it cannot be played on this iPhone"
I'm using a iPhone 4 with current iOS 5.1.1 with iTunes v10.6.1.7
I use 2 PCs and an iPhone 4S I added photos to the phone which appear in the Photo Library, but want to copy them to my second computer (different place).
My wife and I share a computer for our itunes accounts. How can we copy our music libraries to each others accounts without erasing the original library? We want to merge our songs.
I got a replacement for my iPhone 4 today and it got disconnected while i was putting my old backup on the device, Now it is stuck on the apple with a loading bar and is not recognized when i plug it into iTunes?
i am stuck in a tricky situation and would things first i know this is quite a frequently asked question as i have done a bit of searching on the net about it however could not not find anything that totaly matches myproblem, i have recently purchased a brand new laptop which runs windows 7 compared to my old desktop which ran XP, i have tried syncing all of my iphone 4s contents onto my new laptop's itunes library including everything not just music or videos and i got the infamous pop up "The iphone is synced with another Itunes library. Do you want to erase this iphone and sync with this Itunes library" the problem is that my original itunes library does not exist no more as my desktop was completly wiped and had XP redownloaded onto it again because it had a virus, which also wiped all of my hard drive so i cant even get everything i backed up off of my phone from it, i have managed to sign in to the itunes store and allowed my laptop to work with itunes,i have also transferred my purchases from my phone to my new itunes library but this only includes my apps and obviously not my contacts and photos and everything, i still get the pop up if i go to sync my apps from my library anyway, is there any way i can delete my original itunes library without it even existing anymore so that i can just start afresh and sync everything i have on my phone now directly to my new itunes library? or do i need to purchase this iphone rip/backup/store software that everyone goes on about or something? to be honest its really annoying my now as i just want to be able to sync everything like how i used to,
How can i see if my pictures are being sync to itunes when i just did is copy to itunes and not plugged my iphone to computer? is there a possibility that it will still sync? even if i don't plug my iphone to computer?
iTunes will not allow the transfer of content to my iPhone because iTunes shows the iPhone is 3gb overfilled. However, in the usage part of general settings on the phone, it shows that 8gb remain free. I deleted a significant amount of content and the iTunes reading of the remaining storage remains the same. Is there a way to resolve this difference so I can transfer content again?
Every time I connect my phone to my laptop (Windows 8 system), iTunes tells me it can't read the contents of the phone and suggests resetting it. basically bordering on the obscene amount. If I had to pick an actual number of times, I'd say at least 20 over a week's time. Every single time I set up the phone, either from a back up or as a new phone, neither option fixes the problem, iTunes says it's syncing and then syncs nothing to the phone like it says it has. I usually try syncing a few more times just in case, but it never puts anything on the phone. I've uninstalled all Apple programs from my computer and re-installed them, I've taken my phone to the store I bought it at and had a completely new phone sent to me, I've reset it a billion times, I've turned it off and back on again, I've made sure to use the eject button every time I unplug the phone from the computer, I've checked to make sure I have the latest software updates, I use the cord from Apple and not a copycat version, and still every time (except for right after reset, before unplugging for the first time) iTunes says it can't read my phone and I need to reset it.
A pickpocket took my iPhone when I tried to photograph him, and slammed it in the asphalt The screen and display is broken and the touch-function won't work. But someone is still in there! However, when I plug the phone to my computer(not a Mac) iTunes recognizes there is a unit there, but says I need to type in the 4-digit passcode on the iPhone to get access to it in iTunes. But the touch-screen is still broken, so I can't type in anything. Any solution? Can I type in the code or apple-password somewhere else?
The hard drive of my computer recently died and with all my itune music library as well as my custom ringtones with it. I have now recreate all my custom ringtones and put them into a folder call Tones on my desktop. However, I cannot add the folder back into the itune library even after going through the itune add folder function on itune 10.6. Is this a known problem for the itune 10.6? The old itune on my dead hard drive has a folder called tones under the library. The itune 10.6 does not have that folder.
Can I get the music from my itunes library (ie, those songs I've copied into the library from my CDs, not purchased on itunes) onto my iphone, either via icloud or directly onto my device?
I was given an old I phone 3g.I want to use it as an ipod for music only.I followed Allen Sampson's instructions on wiping the content from the phone, but then when I went to my itunes music library and synced, nothing came on to the phone. How do I get my music from my computer on to this phone?
I want to be able to put some songs from my computer at home onto my iphone, however my iphone is usually synced with my laptop that I use for school, is it possible to sync some songs without erasing everything?
I orginally plug my iphone into my laptop the first time this has now gone wrong so I have plugged it into my main computer tonight to sync some more music but it will not appear in the side bar of itunes library
I have 2 iphones, one mine and one my partners.Since we have had the two iphones I cant get the itunes library songs onto either of our phones from itunes when syncing etc. Before when it was only my iphone I had all the songs in itunes, on my iphone... What i am doing or not doing?
I am trying to transfer itunes library to a new iphone 4s. MacBook Air is telling me that I am not a authorized user. Where do I look to see which device is blocking me....computer or new phone?
In order to free up space on my IMac, I have moved all my itunes music to a portable hard drive. I ended up deleting the itunes library folder at the same time and consequently changed my defaulted itunes to the library folder within the hard-drive (which is attached to the computer at all times).
When launching itunes from the icon on the desktop, it launches the itunes within the hard-drive.
My issue now, is that I cannot transfer any of the music purchased in my i-phone to my i-tunes as it states the phone is synced to another library.
Is asks whether I want to sync it to the new one but I gather I will lose everything currently on my phone?
First, if I do proceed to sync it will it from now on sync to this itunes library and is there any way I can attempt to save the stuff already on it? Including music I've purchased from the i-tunes store and all my contacts?
I installed new podcaste app relesed by apple few weeks back.It is was amazing to subcribe and manage podcaste without computer.I have subscribed to many podcaste and downloaded.I was using it for last 2-3 weeks, today i happen to sync my iphone to itunes, just to see my downloaded podcastes are missing.
