Feb 6, 2010I've set up the email on my phone, and its working fine, but the POP3 settings page keeps popping up randomly. Anyone know how to correct this. Not sure if its an issue when the phone drops out of my home wifi connection and is trying to connect via wap.

May 29, 2012I changed my primary email for my apple id and installed find my friends. I configured iCloud and mid text, all my contact names disappeared. In iCloud.com I have no contacts, on my phone I have no contacts, and I did not back up anywhere.

Jul 4, 2012I've lost all my contacts for the last 2 years. Any way to get them back? I saw several questions saying this was caused by iCloud but i had no chance to register if it is not created automatically. I used the one (just forgot how it was called - the one that syncs all apple products and which was inactivated in a few days) - maybe it is because of this? But i dont think - it should not be this.

Sep 9, 2014i keep not being able to find my contacts when i scroll through the list but they would come up when i search. to try and fix this i went into the menu and changed the sort order to first name first as it was surname first. it has now deleted most of my contacts, leaving mostly only the ones that do not contain phone numbers (i think my gmail ones) and i cant find a way of getting them back. Strangely, at first some still came up when i searched but now (i'm not sure what i did in the process of trying to fix it) now there is definitely nothing there. I had not yet set up icloud so they are not stored there but may be in an old google account from my old phone which isnt showing up even though gmail is set to sync.

Mar 29, 2012I have an iPhone 4S. It is on the current IOS 5.1 (9B179). Everything has been working fine, but earlier this week, I lost all of the contacts associated with my Yahoo account. I have tried the following:
- recycled the iPhone (full power down)
- turned off/on the contracts for the Yahoo account
- dropped the Yahoo account completely and readded
- confirmed that the contacts are still on the Yahoo account (via browser)
- confirmed that the contacts are visible on another device (iPad 1 with latest IOS version)
- waiting >24 hours with the Yahoo account re-added to determine if it would resolve itself
In all cases, the net result is the same. The iPhone can connect to the Yahoo account fine (email and calendar are no issues), but when selecting all contacts or even the Yahoo specific contacts, the iPhone is blank, but the account has >100 contacts.

May 18, 2012My wife told me that I should load a lot of Apps. When she gave the phone back, there were no phone contacts. She told me she could sort it, but all I have is the SIM contacts which are a long time out of date. I have at least 50 missing numbers. They do not seem to be available through iTunes. Can I retrieve them from somewhere on the phone?

Mar 28, 2012I received an iphone 4 from my company about a week ago. I inputted my Exchange account and my Yahoo! account and added the Yahoo! carddav file and everything worked perfectly... for a week. Yesterday, one by one, my contacts were dissappearing. My son's name was gone, just his phone number in my favorites; several of my contacts disappeared.
I deleted my Yahoo accounts from my phone, readded them, and nothing! I've even delted my Exchange account to see if that was an issue and only had the Yahoo account active, and still nothing. Do I need to move all my Yahoo! contacts to gmail? Is there a solution or reason why Yahoo! is not syncing?
I read that if you sync your phone with Itunes, you can collect your yahoo contacts, but here is my question. Does syncing Itunes and Yahoo via usb stop the data from wirelessly syncing also?
My goal is to not to have to plug my iphone into my computer to sync my contacts.

May 31, 2012Yesturday I upgraded my iphone 4 to ios5. When it was done and my phone turned on none of my apps were able to start, the only apps that worked was 'safari' 'messages' and the other apps that came with the phone. After an hour or so my apps started working by them selves but thats when i discoverd that all my contacts were gone. I've been checking out my safty backup that is on my computer (pc) but if i restore my phone the ios5 upgrade will be lost and I would have to re do it with the risk of even worse result. how do i restore my contacts? I disconnected icloud from my phone and want to sync it with my computer but outlook is not an available option to sync with. The default setting is to sync with windows contacts. But when I did that it just created an empty contact with my name and picture of a flower. I also have the option to sync with google contacts and yahoo adress book but if I change there is an error message that says that it will affect all units connected to windows contacts so I don't know if I should change or not. I also tried to create a random contact but no contacts came back, the only thing that happend was that my pictures for the dissapered contacts automaticly ended up as picture for the new contact.
