May 29, 2012Contacts and numbers have disappeared...the only contacts I have left are those that had email addresses, but even their number is gone.

Jun 7, 2010Strange issue with my BlackBerry contacts. Nearly all of my phone numbers disappeared and I panicked immediately. I came to realize that this happened when I added a new Gmail account to my Blackberry. Not sure if the new Gmail Sync had anything to do with it, but I found that all of my BlackBerry contacts are NOW in Contacts when I log into Gmail on the web. And the contacts that I do have in my phone happen to be all email addresses (mostly no numbers, but some) that were previously all saved in my web Gmail. It's like they just switched places.

Feb 5, 2010I have had the Curve 8530 for about a week, and I noticed today that the majority of my contact list has disappeared. I started with almost 250 names, now I have about 25. Everything from A-D is gone, and about 75% of everything after that, just random names deleted. Also, when I pull up the contact list, I have to scroll down through a bunch of empty lines before I can see the numbers that are left, like all the deleted contacts are still there, just hidden. But if I search for names that aren't showing up, it doesn't find anything. I've tried a battery pull, and all that happened was the empty spaces in the list disappeared. I really don't want to have to reload my contacts every few days.

May 31, 2012I have read about duplicating contacts, but that is not my main problem. My problem is that instead of one phone number for any given contact, there may be up to 30 of the same phone number! If there is a cell and home, both will be duplicated. What a pain! I do use mobileme but have not started on the cloud yet. Any ideas how this can happen? I showed them my iphone 4 (IOS 5.1.1) at the Verizon store and the rep said she never saw anything like that before. I live two hours from the nearest apple store.

Sep 4, 2014When I select "contacts" from the home screen or from the phone menus, it says there are no contacts. All of my contacts were there an hour ago, and when I receive a call, my phone displays the name that I assigned in contacts. Where did the contacts go, and why can't I see them?Â

Sep 9, 2014Check under Settings > iCloud to see if the Contacts switch is ON (green side showing). If it's already on, switch it off for 30-60 seconds, then back on again. Your contacts should start showing up shortly...

Jul 2, 2012My wife and I own iPhone 4S phones and will be traveling with them to England for the first time this coming holiday season. We have Verizon service with international calling enabled, and intend to use Verizon's international calling plan for the period while we are to be traveling (no swapping for European telco SIM cards). We each have extensive Contacts lists in our phones, and both are synced to our Address Books on our home iMacs. We have our US contacts memorized in the standard area code + number format, and similarly we have our Brit friends' cell and home phone numbers memorized in the "011" (US exit code) "44" (England country code) + number format. With that we can of course call US numbers as normal and the Brits just fine while here in the US. But when we are overseas I suspect we would need a different number sequence to connect with family back here in the US if needed, and we certainly couldn't call the English phone numbers from within England using the 011-44 prefix before their numbers. Is there anyway to prepare for that situation short of re-entering a bunch of phone numbers for while we are away, and then changing it all back again when we return a few weeks later? How do people who travel overseas frequently, say on business, handle this? Multiple numbers in different formats for each Contact?

I saw several questions saying this was caused by iCloud but i had no chance to register if it is not created automatically. Sep 9, 2014i keep not being able to find my contacts when i scroll through the list but they would come up when i search. to try and fix this i went into the menu and changed the sort order to first name first as it was surname first. it has now deleted most of my contacts, leaving mostly only the ones that do not contain phone numbers (i think my gmail ones) and i cant find a way of getting them back. Strangely, at first some still came up when i searched but now (i'm not sure what i did in the process of trying to fix it) now there is definitely nothing there. I had not yet set up icloud so they are not stored there but may be in an old google account from my old phone which isnt showing up even though gmail is set to sync.

Mar 29, 2012I have an iPhone 4S. It is on the current IOS 5.1 (9B179). Everything has been working fine, but earlier this week, I lost all of the contacts associated with my Yahoo account. I have tried the following:
- recycled the iPhone (full power down)
- turned off/on the contracts for the Yahoo account
- dropped the Yahoo account completely and readded
- confirmed that the contacts are still on the Yahoo account (via browser)
- confirmed that the contacts are visible on another device (iPad 1 with latest IOS version)
- waiting >24 hours with the Yahoo account re-added to determine if it would resolve itself
In all cases, the net result is the same. The iPhone can connect to the Yahoo account fine (email and calendar are no issues), but when selecting all contacts or even the Yahoo specific contacts, the iPhone is blank, but the account has >100 contacts.

May 18, 2012My wife told me that I should load a lot of Apps. When she gave the phone back, there were no phone contacts. She told me she could sort it, but all I have is the SIM contacts which are a long time out of date. I have at least 50 missing numbers. They do not seem to be available through iTunes.
