The iTunes data on the computer my iPhone was firstly connected and configurated with has been deleted. I was looking for an opportunity to update my iPhone to the newest iOS software (since it was on 5.0) without erasing all the data saved on my mobile. But that time I did not know that all data will be erased when upgrading a device a complete version (like from 3.0 to 4.0 or 4.0 to 5.0) and then it happened. Several hundred business contacts of mine has been erased and cannot be reset. All functions except the phone/message contacts are unimportant now. MOST IMPORTANT: I connected my iPhone with a new MacBook, updated iTunes to 10.6.3 (current version) and synced my mobile with it. Data will be erased if updating on an unknown computer (for iOS device) where no data which are on my iPhone are saved. Unfortunately, the instructions at iTunes Support were helpless because during the important backup for resetting all datas has been interrupted with the following window: Backup not possible , There are not enough space on the iPhone left to finish the backup.
It has never continued and since then all data has been erased. I would be incredibly glad if anybody could give me at least a tip to do something.
After updating to latest firmware, the contacts have disappeared. If I search I find the names and numbers but they have failed to list in contact now.
I have an iPhone 3G which I unlocked a year ago. Last night I decided to update to ios 4.0.2, then it got locked and I could not use it. Luckily I had a sim from the service provider who i bought it from which enabled me to turn on the phone. I used guidelines from the net and downloaded redsn0w and then os 4.0 which enabled me to open the redsnow finally and of course connected my iphone to my book pro. i went over all the steps and thought I am done after saw the Cydia icon on my iphone (which disappeared during the update)..the only weird thing is that the cydia icon was white not dark red as usual. then i tried opening cydia and follow the step to go to manage etc and enter the famous URL... the result was i got did not find repository and also later i found out that i cannot see my phone icon on the iphone...
I needed to update my phone to the 5.1 before I did I sync it so I could get everything back. Before I hit update I made sure it said last sync with the date and time. I proceed to update and go to sync it so I get all my info back and now I'm getting an error message saying backup is corrupt and can't restore or something along that line. I can restore it to an older backup but not the one I need. There are some very important stuff I am now missing because its an older backup
I've been searching for a fix to my problem that is that since I updated to ICS, "Facebook for HTC Sense" disappeared in the settings menu of "Account & sync" I just have the one just called "Facebook" and if I press Add account it won't show up. The problem is that I can see "Facebook for HTC Sense" in my apps list, and also when I go to a contact profile I can kind of see it. Also, when I link contacts I just can link it to the one called "Facebook" and it really pisses me off, since it never updates and the contact avatars remains the same always.
After updateing my Xperia x10 mini to 2.1, and in spite of doing the Backup & restore, all my notes in the (sony ericssoon) Notes app have disappeared! How do I get them back? Obvioulsly Backup & restore didn't back them up...
I always wonderd if there is such a thing as a recycling bin on the sdcard?
Keyboard that was installed after updating Xperia X10 has disappeared, out dated keyboard without dictionary appeared instead. how I can restore the keyboard without updating the software again. Also, after updating the software, text messages and picture text messages were separated?
I have just installed the new BlackBerry software update for my 8520 and the Keyboard lock icon has disappeared! It is one of the most important functions for this phone which will open applications or try to phone people at the slightest excuse. I've opened up everything I can find in the various menus but can find nothing related to this & searches using words like Keylock or Keyboard lock on the BlackBerry website come up with solutions to spelling check or highlighting problems! Incidentally initial quick look at update seems to be an improvement, in appearance at least.
I changed my primary email for my apple id and installed find my friends. I configured iCloud and mid text, all my contact names disappeared. In iCloud.com I have no contacts, on my phone I have no contacts, and I did not back up anywhere.
My wife's icon for her Contacts is not on her home screen. She didn't make any folders, so it's not there. When she "Search iPhone" and type "Contacts", the app appears and she can add/edit contacts that way. Where did it go?
I've lost all my contacts for the last 2 years. Any way to get them back? I saw several questions saying this was caused by iCloud but i had no chance to register if it is not created automatically. I used the one (just forgot how it was called - the one that syncs all apple products and which was inactivated in a few days) - maybe it is because of this? But i dont think - it should not be this.
i keep not being able to find my contacts when i scroll through the list but they would come up when i search. to try and fix this i went into the menu and changed the sort order to first name first as it was surname first. it has now deleted most of my contacts, leaving mostly only the ones that do not contain phone numbers (i think my gmail ones) and i cant find a way of getting them back. Strangely, at first some still came up when i searched but now (i'm not sure what i did in the process of trying to fix it) now there is definitely nothing there. I had not yet set up icloud so they are not stored there but may be in an old google account from my old phone which isnt showing up even though gmail is set to sync.
I was just going to call my wife, but realised that she was gone from my contacts and not just her but all my contacts, yikes! So I checked the adressbook on my iMac and on iCloud and there are no contacts there either.
I have an iPhone 4S. It is on the current IOS 5.1 (9B179). Everything has been working fine, but earlier this week, I lost all of the contacts associated with my Yahoo account. I have tried the following:
- recycled the iPhone (full power down)
- turned off/on the contracts for the Yahoo account
- dropped the Yahoo account completely and readded
- confirmed that the contacts are still on the Yahoo account (via browser)
- confirmed that the contacts are visible on another device (iPad 1 with latest IOS version)
- waiting >24 hours with the Yahoo account re-added to determine if it would resolve itself
In all cases, the net result is the same. The iPhone can connect to the Yahoo account fine (email and calendar are no issues), but when selecting all contacts or even the Yahoo specific contacts, the iPhone is blank, but the account has >100 contacts.
My contacts all disappeared today, however in my favorites the contact names were dropped but the phone numbers are there. get my contacts back, and reattach names to my phone numbers in favorites.
My wife told me that I should load a lot of Apps. When she gave the phone back, there were no phone contacts. She told me she could sort it, but all I have is the SIM contacts which are a long time out of date. I have at least 50 missing numbers. They do not seem to be available through iTunes. Can I retrieve them from somewhere on the phone?
My contacts app disappeared, but the contact info is obviously still in phone bc you can see it in the phone, email, msgs etc.. I tried going under settings.general.reset.reset home screen. It pulled everything in the world back except the contacts app!
My iPhone 4S randomly lost all of my contacts. But about a day or two ago in the evening I noticed they were gone.Â
However, they are all still safe and sound in my iCloud account when I access it online from my Mac. How do I get them back onto my phone from my iCloud account?
