This turns out to be the single biggest disappoinment having done the switch from Blackberry to the iphone (after 10 years of using a Blackberry).
The reference to the Stone Age that I have come across in other forums seems more than appropriate, but I am hopeful that this ridiculous shortcoming will be / has been addressed by Apple.

I use MS exchange email and from time to time it is appropriate for me to mark an email I have created as "High Priority". You know, so the little red exclamation mark appears in the email header. I used to have a Galaxy S4 and this is quite a simple feature, I am disappointed to not find it on the iPhone.Â

View 12 Replies View RelatedI believe the on-screen message was close to the title example. Anyway, after draining the battery to around 25% (last used apps were instagram, snapchat, clash of clans, and nlf mobile) I plugged in to the charger that originally came with the S6. Within a minute I heard the "low-battery, please recharge" sound and saw the "Battery temperature is too high and will not charge" message. Then after doing the attempts below trying to troubleshoot, my phone is currently at 0% and unable to charge. The charger plug isn't even recognized without awkward positioning. The charger plug (and phone battery to a lesser extent) did often become hot when charging, but I never thought anything of it, as it seemed like a known/common occurrence among GS6 owners.
1. First reaction: unplug charger, use Advanced Task Killer, then wait couple minutes before plugging back in.
2. Soft reset through power button and Restart option.
3. Tried moving original charger to different wall outlets/power strips and using my old charger that originally came with a GS3.
4. Reboot to Bios screen (I think thats what its called), cleared cache, and restart.
5. Factory reset from Settings->Backup option
After the factory reset, the battery hit 0% during the initial set up. Strangely, when I tilt the charger plug upwards (slight downward angle going into port), the phone reacts as if recognizing a charger is plugged. This angle wasn't necessary prior to the "breaking," but by maintaining the angle I can keep the phone on while it goes through the initial startup (until it tries to find a network or search for updates, then turns off). I wanted to see if there were any possible ways of saving this phone.
I used to be able to press the blackberry button (think thats what its called) when in my inbox and get various options including mark as unread (as well as forward, reply to all, etc). I now seem to be able to only do from this from in the email itself as if I am in my in box and press the button I need to hold it down and then I get a shortcut menu appearing. Have I accidently created this or has blackberry changed this as I recently upgraded one of their apps (though thought it was messenger)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing K9 to monitor my msn.com account, when I read an email on the PC it does not change the status of the email on the Droid to show as read. Same issue the other way, if I read an email on the Droid the same email shows as not read on the PC.
Is there a setting some place within K9 that will mark the PC email as read and allow the sever to mark an email as read on the Droid?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am new to this community and I am here because of the problems I experienced with my W580i today and yesterday. Yesterday I finished setting up the phone's email client and got it working but then the trouble began. I went to my 'Inbox' and chose 'Send & receive' to download emails from the server and after few minutes I got the result -- 300 (if I recall) unread emails. 50 of them were displayed on the first page and all had yellow closed envelope tags. Now the problem was that actually all those emails had already been read using my laptop's email client but that's just the beginning. So, I read all those messages again (yes, I know I can mark them read one by one), which took some time.
But after that I still had 250 or so "unread" emails, so I chose 'View older' to get rid of all unread emails and obviously had to download all those messages, which takes about 5 minutes alone. Here's where it got really bad. I had noticed that it was possible to mark messages but when I hoped to mark all 50 messages together and 'Mark as read' I found out for my sadness that it is not possible to mark more than one message read. Thing is that group of marked marked messages can be marked for deletion but not marked as read. That meant I had to mark all 50 messages on the page as read one by one and that takes about 4 minutes when you do it fast. Now that's bad but it got much worse.
(Also a note that messages that were on 2nd and other pages weren't tagged with yellow envelope but grey one and I think they had to be downloaded again to open after clicking them, which different them from the yellow ones, which can be opened straight away. At least it seemed to be so.) So, I went on to next page (, which obviously meant I had to download all those messages) and marked those as read but soon I realised that messages marked as read on previous pages will automatically be unread again when you go to next pages (select 'View older'), which is obviously very annoying! Well, I am not the type who would give up, so I tried all kind of things like choosing 'Send & receive' again and starting from the last page of "unread" emails, which meant 6th page.
I had some luck with the latter as when I had marked last (page 6) 50 messages all read one by one and went on to 'View newer' (page 5), those messages had still remained read and number of unread messages had decreased by 50. So, I was quite hopeful and went on to next page ('View newer' again) and number of unread messages was 200 (wow) ! But after managing to deal with all those messages on the page and going on to next page number of unread messages had automatically gone up again. I was obviously rather sad now as my plan didn't work but still didn't give up. But fortunately/unfortunately my suffering was finished as I ran out of credit (I'm using pay as you go service), which is probably quite obvious after downloading pages with 50 emails many times.
Anyway, that's the worst thing that could happen to me as I had just topped up my mobile 2 days ago and I normally manage at least 2-3 months with one topping up! As I am poor at the moment I can't afford topping up again so soon either. Plus I have spent many hours on this annoying thing yesterday and today (because I had to repeat the steps I mentioned above, battery ran low etc.). Now, my first question is whether there is any way to avoid that kind of trouble and somehow get all messages read? My experience shows that it doesn't seem to be possible. Secondly, maybe just maybe only way would be to delete all those so-called unread emails? But then I would get them again when choosing 'Send & receive' to get new emails? Thirdly, I am so disappointed that I would like to get re-imbursed by Sony Ericsson but that's probably unthinkable as you didn't make me use the email client.
I just got my new LG G3 and I love it. But it bothers me that the stock email only provide a selection to mark as unread if i select all. If I need to mark as read, I can only select one by one, but if i selected any read emails, it will just provide option button below as mark as unread.
I only check my emails few times a day on my phone but it could get up to a lot and i need this feature that I can mark as read easily.
Apple Store was crazy on the 24th and since I have tons of work, I just went there and got onto a priority list that they were creating. Any ideas when the priority list people will get the phone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I understand Priority Notifications is the new 'silent' mode but I can't get it working so that it has the same functionality as older Android versions.
I've set all priority notifications (events / calls / messages) off and choose to turn on priority notifications indefinitely but each day it reverts back to 'all' so I have to remember to turn it on every day.
Also, when in an app (e.g WhatsApp) and a new message comes through, it still makes a noise even though it's in priority notifications mode!

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince I updated my Z2 to Lollipop i keep finding my phone set to Priority Mode. i do not know why this happens but i am sure i do not set it accidentally. i also confirmed that i do not have priority mode scheduled for specific day/time. it also occures at random time of the day so schedule is not a possibility.
