i just got my iphone 4s, and my apps like pinterest, facebook, etc. are increasing in size. how do i delete the apps' data cache without reinstalling the app?! this is frustrating.i don't want to have my regular apps how my iphone storage space! any ideas to get this resolved? is there an iphone app that can manually delete data cache?

i just purchased my iphone, and i found my cellular usage is increasing while i was on wifi the entire time? i thought i'm completely off the cellular network while connected to wifi, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently got the Xperia Mini Pro and last week, I noticed my data usage (according to Data Monitor) had gone up from 23mb to 60mb while I wasn't even using the phone. It happened again this week, going from 70mbish to 100mb. I phoned my t-mobile who told me my allowance is actually 250mb (Thank God!) but they don't know the reason why my data usage is jumping up like that. So they reffered me to Sony Mobile's support team who I haven't phoned yet.since I wanted to try the forums.
I have background traffic turned off and everytime I lock my phone, Data traffic is turned off by Juice Defender...so I don't get how this is happening? Could there be an application using the internet at such huge amounts? (all I use is Whatsapp)Or is Data Monitor not accurate?
Is there a limit to how much catch an app can store before it starts deleting old garbage?
I find that my apps are constantly growing, and soon im out of storage even since i dont have that many apps.
My sisters iphone is even worse, she uses it every day and has to do a complete restore every other month or so because the apps are taking every last mb on the device. the programs/apps are up to over 5gb when in reality they are just about 1gb, the rest is just catches and other downloaded junk inside the app.
It cant really be that necessary to hook it up to the computer every other month to do a complete restore just to get rid of the catch??

Now that unlimited data is a thing of the past this might be a concern I've not seen discussed, do the apps that are now running in background like Facebook twitter etc stay connected to the 3g signal to get updates if so will that now mean we will have higher data usage than we did before? Or do they just start using data when they are opened as the main app being viewed?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI am using an iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1.1 and had no problem with it so far, but couple days ago I installed the smartsync app (syncs my contacts with facebook) and since then all of the apps are keep crashing because of the wired memory goes up really high, crashes the phone and do it again. Even if there is no app open, the wired memory goes up really high and crashed the phone and then do it again. So the battery dies really fast, and you cannot really use any app! I deleted the smartsync, I did a restore and a back-up

My husband and I both have the iPhone 3GS. My husband's phone however will count on the phones data usage 20mb over night while it is charging and on our wifi. it is counting this towards his 3g usage and not wifi. We have already had APPLE reset everything at the store. it is still doing it. so he has to turn off all cellualar data usage at night or it keeps racking up the usage even though it is on our wifi. I plug my phone in at night as well and mine is not doing this

While I do like the smaller, crisp font, the dialer numbers are very small, so I just re-set back to 350%. Went to the store and boom, there are, again, 26 updates.
What's with that? Do apps really install different versions depending on your font size? That seems pretty strange to me.
I don't even have to touch my volume button for the volume to increase? And it's not like the + button is stuck, it is very in noting when listening to music and playing games!

I Had a new battery installed in my iPhone 5 today and the battery charge has not increased at all. Still at 16% the same as it was when I got it back 3 hours ago. Is it's to be expected or do I need to return to the Apple store?

I've been struggling with battery drain for a while now. Previously, I had my email set to "fetch every 15 minutes." I noticed that my usage rate each hour would go up by about 30 minutes even while the phone remained in my pocket on standby, with my battery draining around 10% each hour. I changed my email to "fetch every hour" and saw my battery life increasing. Finally, I changed the email setting to fetch "manually" and have noticed that now my usage rate more accurately reflects my actual usage and I am satisfied with my battery life. It seems like I have narrowed down my battery issue to my email settings. However, I would like to be able to have my email sent to my phone without having to manually update it each time. Any email settings or other settings I could change to increase my battery life?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have realized multiple times now that my battery actually goes up couple percentages without charging or plugging the phone into anything. It happens mostly when the phone is in battery saving mode, but I'm pretty sure I saw it happen without it as well.
I was able to see the slight increase in the battery app as well, which at least assured me that I'm not going crazy. Is this something normal either for this phone or any phone for that matter?
I wanted to find out how I could increase the application memory on my 8900 as much as possible. Right now it only reads about 109 out of the 256 MB. I've tried deleting some of the unused apps and such but even when I do that it only makes about a 1 MB difference.

The forums show that I'm not the first to experience this; but it is the increasing likeliness of occurance that annoys me. I would say one-in-three updates/downloads fail due to this error. This is more of an observation than anything else.
