Is there a limit to how much catch an app can store before it starts deleting old garbage?
I find that my apps are constantly growing, and soon im out of storage even since i dont have that many apps.
My sisters iphone is even worse, she uses it every day and has to do a complete restore every other month or so because the apps are taking every last mb on the device. the programs/apps are up to over 5gb when in reality they are just about 1gb, the rest is just catches and other downloaded junk inside the app.
It cant really be that necessary to hook it up to the computer every other month to do a complete restore just to get rid of the catch??

Since I installed the new software that eliminates Intellisync it appears, at least on the stat page that the number of changes when I sync keeps growing. I sync pretty often, say every other day. I sync my 9800 desktop v6.0 with Outlook 2007. ( I run Win 7 64bit)If I make a change on my BB and then sync, the screen that pops up titled, "Changes Will Be Made to Organizer" list one change. I click on the SYNC button and the sync completes. Now if I make one change on my Outlook and then sync the same tables shows me the cumulative number of changes I made since I first installed the software, plus one, the one I just made. The number just keeps increasing.Sure enough the changes I'm making in Outlook are being successfully sync'ed on my BB, be it contact or calendar but something either isn't being cleared or it is actually re-syncing all the changes every time.
Two files inside the DCIM/.thumbnails folder have reached 818 Megabytes !!!! o_O
Both start with ".thumbdata--" and are followed by a number, one is 348 MB and the other is 470 MB in size! My card has 16GB capacity I delete them but they keep coming back whenever I use the camera, the gallery or change the wallpaper.
I allready re-installed the ICS and reboot my phone so this is not a solution
I don't like how my only way of finding help from apple is talking to a bunch of random ppl just like me. The area called "other" on my phones' memory (on the device summary in iTunes) keeps getting larger. what is in this area and how do I erase it?
i've just rooted my phone with PINGPONG app and I was wondering if there is any app that could give me the option to chage the grid size in the app menu. I am aware that I can change the grid size on the main screen but when you do that there is a difference between the size of the icons on your mai menu and app menu.
Strange thing I noticed. I like small text, so I changed from the standard 350% to 300%. Went to the store, and had 26 updates. This was yesterday.
While I do like the smaller, crisp font, the dialer numbers are very small, so I just re-set back to 350%. Went to the store and boom, there are, again, 26 updates.
What's with that? Do apps really install different versions depending on your font size? That seems pretty strange to me.
I want to be able to switch between my iphone 4 and 3Gs, but will this be possible considering the new sim size? And if so, is there an adapter for this purpose?
I've had my iPhone 4 since Sept 2011, so I know it wasn't like this before. When I play a video on my phone that I recorded and rotate the phone so it is horizontal the video shrinks to just the middle of the screen. I've played these same videos countless of times before and they always filled the screen when the phone was horizontal.
Also, I have tried zooming in on the video by double tapping the screen but it just makes the screen too big and cuts off people's heads or other things.
I have tried most of the things I have come across on line. Does anybody know how i can go about reducing the size of the other folder on my 4s? At the moment it stands at 4.2gb. I have cleared alot of e-mails out of my inbox and i have deleted the history, cache and cookies and I have restored it also but to no avail etc. All these have i think had only a minimal effect on it. Find it hard to believe that it would be comprised of sms, calendar and contacts etc.
My other folder will not decrease in size. I have restored it 3 times but 9.1 gig remains. It is factory basic with no additional apps. I have read tons but none of the solutions have worked including checking unchecking music synch etc.
Some of the apps on my iPhone are much larger size-wise than claimed on their app page. Example: Wallpapers HD claims 4.4 MB, but the actual size on my phone is 4.9 GB! Pinterest & Facebook also end up being huge real estate hogs. How do I really know the size of an app? The apps don't represent themselves accurately in the app store.
I figured out that 2 of my podcast apps allow me to remove content after listening. Others don't, though.
Noticed the scale of the text size has changed a bit with the recent update? I have always had my text size set to the smallest setting but even though it's still set like that the text seems bigger after the update.
I'm really interested in using the iPhone 4 for shooting short HD videos. I'm debating whether or not I need the 32GB model. How much space do you think 720p 30fps HD video will take up?
Ok, so I am trying to figure out what the size is per photo on the new i4, I guess Video will vary, but trying to determine for vacation needs how many photos I can fit approximately on my 32GB i4.I am removing all video's and music when I go away so I can record and take tons of photos. Has anyone tried to figure out the standard size of a photo? a video ?
I've been searching and searching on how to change to contact photo size when you make a call or receive a call. I prefer to see the small thumbnail in the upper left corner as opposed to the entire screen being taken up by the contact's photo. After checking multiple threads on this website every answer states that when you use the Address Book on the Mac it syncs the small thumbnail and when you apply the photo on the iPhone it displays the full screen photo size for the contact. Well this solution is not working for me. I've tried deleting the contact's photo then applying them using the Address Book on my Mac and after they sync with iCloud and I make a call it still displays as a full screen photo.
