IPhone :: What Is Happening With 'Other' Space Allocation
Jun 9, 2012
I've deleted everything on my phone! Everything. I deleted all the Apps (except for the stock apps of course). All the music, movies, tv shows, books, ringtones, photos. I turned Photostream off. iCloud off. I tried restoring from backup (several times). Rebooting the phone. Shutting off the phone. Resetting network settings. I've tried every combination of iTunes settings (sync from wifi, open when connected, etc) that I could think off. I even deleted all the apps from iTunes (just in case). Nothing works! Yes, I know that if I do a 'restore as new' it will clean up the space. But then I lose all my text messages, all my app data settings (games savepoints etc). I do not want to lose all that!
I have the Lumia 950 with a Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB microsd HC1 card and its got a weird space allocation. I have pictures and music saved on the card while apps are saved on the device storage but i noticed on the storage usage i have 1.85GB allocated for Apps & games on the card. Looking at the details there's no apps found on the card.
I am running out of memory space for applications but have plenty of space remaining for my own content/files. Is there any way of moving the allocation of the internal memory to solve this problem?
I have just installed iOS v5.1 on my 3GS hoping that it would stop the bluetooth dropouts when connected to my car. This still hasn't fixed it, with something like 19 dropouts and reconnections in 25 kilometers. This happens everyday, therefore have had to cancel bluetooth connections. This really is a safety concern when driving.
Info: iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1, connects to my car bluetooth but ke
My iPhone 4S turns itself back on after I turn it off. It only started happening since last Thursday I am in the middle of exams and really need to be able to turn it off and make it stay off.
My iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1) is showing that I have 0.80GB of memory allocated to "other." I only have 0.17 GB of audio, 0.39 GB of apps, and 1.38 GB in photos (over iCloud) on it at this time. I've cleared call and web history, texts, cookies, bookmarks, deleted my e-mail accounts and basically tried to isolate any high usage items, but no joy. What in the wide world of sports is taking up all of this space, and how can I get rid of it? It seems excessive considering the actual content of my phone...
I have a Nokia XpressMusic and I bought a memory card with (allegedly) 1.9 GB of storage, yet the card runs out of space when I use up a small percentage of space. I have formatted the thing, but still no joy.
i was just wondering if anyone has the same problem as me and know how to fix it, if at all possible. My phone keeps deleting texts randomly and i would like to know if there's any settings that may need changing in order to stop it happening. It doesn't seem to be because of a full inbox because i've got half the amount of texts that i have have in my inbox before.
I have wiped my Xperia mini pro. After that its not downloading anything from my account I'm having 110 contacts in sony ericson online. How to download those contact to my device?
I've got this problem since yesterday. my s5 is running 5.0 so i went to "About Device" hit the software update button and it updated though its still 5.0 Lollipop. So i went back to About device and unchecked automatic update. It still kept on connecting to server and downloading update. So it updated again after it updated and rebooted the device it still connected to the server on its own and started downloading updates again. I know i might have a lot of updates to download but is there a way i can stop this because its annoying. why despite downloading these updates my OS is still 5.0? r they firmware or security etc updates? performance updates?
Has anyone else noticed that, upon updating or downloading an app, on both the iPad and iPhone, the "Unable to download application" error is happening with increasing frequency; especially in the last 12 months? The forums show that I'm not the first to experience this; but it is the increasing likeliness of occurance that annoys me. I would say one-in-three updates/downloads fail due to this error. This is more of an observation than anything else.

would like to know if anyone is having problems with navigating menus and also when the camera is in operation the menus flicker as though its trying to turn the camera function off causing videos to freeze in play back mode. Also getting a lot of bubbles in my pictures but this has been happening since i got the camera.
I recently purchased a Q2 blue ant bluetoooth to be used with my XPRT. When I attempt to call a contact using the bluetooth device, I get an audio message that states "activating your phone in built voice command on the connected phone." "This feature is not supported on your connected phone" then my phone will display "complete action using voice commands" So in essence I have to tap the voice dialer app to make a call. So, is there another bluetooth device that is truly handsfree voice dialing that can be used with this phone?
I use gmail to receive emails on my Galaxy s5. But whenever I delete emails, they reappear as soon as I call for more emails. How do I stop this from happening?
using an app tells you to "free up space on your device to continue" but you have already verified there is enough space on your device than needed by the app (17 gigs free).
In the task manager, if I click "Clear Memory" under RAM tab, it said more than 10 apps closed. But when I click the same button after few mins, it said the same number of application closed again.Actually which applications got closed when I clicked the Clear button first time, and how those apps occupied the memory once again, how do I ensure, my RAM is not used by unused/unwanted apps, where can I see the which applications are using how much memory?
I have 2.7 GB of space in "other" which puts me over my limit for storage. I have done a restore with no luck. I have nothing to be synced with my phone. I have tried unchecking "open ituens when this iphone is connected" and checking it again but that didnt work either. I didnt have this much "other" until yesterday when i got errors about backups being corrupted. I thought the restore would fix that.
I have a JB'd 3GS 32GB (via Blackra1n) and it's been perfect for a while now.All of a sudden yesterday I added a few tracks and this morning I get a message that there is no space available. There was 9GB of free space available the day before today. I went into the "about" area and it says 0 bytes available?
Any way to restore back my space? I don't really want to re-jail break it, it's too customized.
Just wondering how much of the HD video content can be stored on the iPhone 4. It will be interesting to see, once you have all your music and media content how much actual HD video can be captured, edited, etc.?
I tried to download the garageband update v. 1.2 on my iphone 4s, but i only got a message that says I don't have enough free space.I tried to reinstall the app, but no luck. The app is about 800mb and i have about 1,5gb left on the phone.
I recently transfered my entire itunes library from my old desktop to my new laptop. Nothing has changed, still the same amount of songs and apps. I have authorised this laptop etc. I have only since added 2 albums. When i link my iphone now, it states that sync cannot be completed as it cannot hold the itunes library and an additional 13gb is needed? according to my diagram it also states i have still 6gb left? surely it should sync if only 2 albums have been added?
Doing some iPhone clean up this morning and noticed that the Flipboard app, one that I love, uses 1.2Gb of space on the Iphone. Is that right? Seems massive for a feeder app.
