Got a 3G and it's painfully slow on 4 so I'm trying to revert but I aways get some obscure message saying iTunes can't read it... turns out I needed to backup something called SHSH blobs which I learnt about after day late and a dollar short. Is it still possible to downgrade by any other means?Please help... it feels like running Snow Leopard on a G3 ... I'm guessing.. no actual experience of such.
View 5 RepliesIt has been working steadily for over 6 hours and still not done, and phone only about half full of data/songs etc. 16g 3G, MacMini OSX 10.6.8. I wanted to simply start using my newer mac for backups and whatever, but I can't believe it is taking so long to finish the initial backup on this computer. Is it possible there is a larger problem here? At the "speed" with which the process is occurring, it looks like I will have to leave the phone hooked up all night long just to complete the backup.
The other part of this is that I wanted to upgrade to iOS 4.2, but before I upgraded I needed to sync and backup the phone according to the messages that came up on screen when I connected the phone.
By the time I see any responses it will likely be done, but I'm worried that the extreme time involved is an indication of a bigger issue of unknown nature. And, I'm worried that subsequent backups may be equally time consuming, especially if there is a problem with the phone.
Is this "normal" for a first backup on a new(er) computer?
(In case it has any bearing, iTunes 10.) I'm not syncing music or videos, just the address book/contacts and calendars.

I have a couple pictures in my camera roll that I'm assigning to contacts but every time I sync my phone, they revert back to older pictures.
What do I have to do to make them stick?
I link my iPhone 4 to my HD radio in my vehicle all the time to listen to my song library or to other audio such as Pandora or iTunesU. An update for the standard iPhone music app loaded recently, and my radio is no longer able to communicate with my iPhone. Could the music app update have caused this? If so, is it possible to revert back to the previous version?
I have linked other devices to the radio to rule out the chance that the radio is the problem. I have also done a hard reset on both my iPhone and my radio. Before the update, my radio recognized the iPhone as an iPod.

Like most every Verizon subscriber who owns an Xperia play, I'm no longer able to sync with Google or pretty much anything else since the most recent update. I've tried talking to both Sony and Verizon customer support and they've both been equally useless, telling me to wait for an update which could be anywhere from a week to several months away, depending on who you talk to.Since I'd rather not wait for an update that may or may not be coming, I'd like to know if it's possible to revert back to 2.3.3, which worked just fine.

If i do a fresh install of the latest build OI1 from odin the flash procedure complete successfully but the phone after that wont boot because it stuck at Samsung logo powered by android. And when i go to download mode Recovery mode is Samsung official and System status is custom. I tried to factory reset with recovery but nothing.
I have also tried to fully wipe the phone with twrp but nothing. After i flash the official lastest build with odin the system status is still custom and the phone is stuck at Samsung logo. I also did an efs folder wipe, which means i have flashed another efs with odin and after that imei said unknown. Than i have repair imei and have my phone back to function. I have bold 9700 running os6 but I want to get back my 2g only option in mobile network options. I use BB 9700 of H3G UK. In OS5, it has 2g mode, 3g mode and 2g&3g mode but there is no 2g mode in Mobile network option in OS6. I have tried to reinstall OS6 and nothing change.
Is there a better way to do get the 2g only option back?? Don't tell me that I have to downgrade to OS5

I jailbroke my 3G using blackra1n on iOS3 and installed (IIRC BossPrefs although I could be mistaken)I used this to turn on numeric signal strength indicators (for mobile signal and wifi)I then decided to just upgrade straight to official iOS4 when it came out, thinking it would just overwrite any customisations I'd made.However, the signal strength indicators now flick between the official icons and numerical representations.I can only assume the prefs software (if it was Bossprefs) did something to the particular icons, and the official restore only restored some of them?
I've since re jailbroke iOS4 with redsn0w and found out that the prefs program I used is not compatible (it just starts to load then quits). I tried installing SBSettings and enabling and disabling numerical signal strength indicators in that, but it's to no avail.
I updated my phone to iOS4 today but hate the new theme. I can't find a way to revert it back to the one that came with my 3GS. Did they take it out compeltely?

I am a T-mobile customer and I have a iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 (9B176), firmware 04.12.01.
The iPhone was originally locked to ATT but in April 2012 I requested the official ATT unlock. The phone is now unlocked and works well with T-mobile.
If I upgrade from iOS5.1 to iOS5.1.1 will I loose the unlock? Does anyone has firsthand experience?
