Can someone please tell me how to turn off automatically syncing songs on all my apple devices. For example if I download a song on my ipod it automatically puts it on my iphone and I want to stop that. I know this a simple change in the settings but I have looked everywhere.

I upgraded from WP 7.8 and am sure I could see the names of the devices connected to my phone via tethering..
WP8 only shows the number of devices connected and not the names..
(Reason I ask is that I had shared my tethering password with a bunch of guys at work but can't tell who is connected)

I have purchased music mostly from iTunes from my MacBook, a few times from my iPhone directly. When I like to share it in between, some music songs can not get from the Mac to the iPhone, even if I have approved the two to share music in between? I understand that you can share between up to 5 hardware devices owned by yourself.

View 3 Replies View RelatedNot sure what I have done. I want to upload 29 gigs worth of music to my WIN PC, but file manager doesn't see all of the music. only 389+ mg. Check properties on 64gig Nexus through Explorer and it shows all the gigs, but not the existence of the music. The Nexus has no issues and plays everything, sees all music and no other files have been affected......I must have changed the properties on the phone that recognizes the music as music. Seems I remember something about photo files versus music and then I noticed the visual absence.......

My phone seems to remove purchased music from my library when space is running low.
Songs that I know I've downloaded show up with the little cloud icon thing and I have to download them again.
- I buy new music from iTunes
- It downloads on my phone
- I go do something else
- I want to listen to the music again
- I try to re download it
- I don't have space
The thing is way overzealous in its deletion.
This morning, I was listening to an album I had downloaded less than an hour before. I paused to watch a video in my photo library (less than a minute long).
I pressed play to resume the music. Music gone.
Later, I redownload the music. Right after it finished downloading, it alerts me that storage is almost full. Music gone.Â
I really want to turn this feature off. Music is one of the last things I would want to remove from my phone.

I know that mail alerts can be manually turned off in the notification center, but I don't want to have to manually do this everytime I play music. If I enable printer sharing in my preferences on my Mac, my other Macs can see it, and can print from it. Why can't my iPhone 4? I've setup homesharing as every guide I have ever read says to. However the step where I go to more tab on the music app on my phone, there is no shared option. I've turned the phone off and on, made sure the app was closed properly, and nothing.
Do I need to set up a library to share first? All the videos seemed to have a library in the shared tab in itunes. I can't find a way to do this, as the sharing options in preferences just say either share selected playlists, or my entire library.
