When I plug my I-Phone 3 into my vehicle's USB port i have to turn the volume way up to hear music. I usually listen to an FM station at volume level 12. When using the Iphone I can't hear anything until a level above 30.

I hook it to my computer and itunes comes up and says it has detected a iphone in recovery mode. It asked if I want to restore so I hit restore button and it starts extracting. This is my first iPhone, and I don't usually make or receive a lot of calls, (I communicate much more with texts.) I received 2 calls recently and it was almost impossible to hear the other person. I tried hitting the + on the side, but it didn't seem to affect the sound volume. Is there something I am missing in the settings, or something else I am missing? I don't use any type of headset/headphones, as those are prohibited at work. I will say I have a Belkin case on the phone, so it's possible I may not have been hitting the volume controls like I thought. I just wondered if there was something I was missing elsewhere. I am hoping this is just operator error and nothing wrong with the phone.

my iphone 3gs was previously 3.1.2 firmware and i used my brother laptop that already had blackra1n installed so i used it and it looked fine then it just got bricked? it just doesnt turn on and when i plug it in computer it just says its in recovery mode and needs to be recovered.
so i thought i would just recover it to 3.1.3 but i wanted to avoid that step and go straight to 3.1.2 so that i can instantly jailbreak it correctly this time. i search around Internet and find a download for 3.1.2 firmware and i follow the steps and im supposed to do shift+and click restore on itunes and browse the download all looks swell until when it says preparing for recovery and it just comes with the (1600) error code.

My Iphone stopped outputting sound out of its ecternal speakers.I can only hear music when headpones are plugged in.Essentially, the iPhone thinks the headphones are still connected and will continue to output sound only through the headphone port.I have tried to "convince" it that nothing is plugged in.It is stuck in headphone mode and nothing can be heard out the speakers.I think it might be something to do with the dock connector and the soffware telling the phone it is docked.I have tried everything.Restoring to new will not work.I did a hard reboot, I have tried resetting it ont he phone setting,did and update through iTunes,did a complete backup and restore, tried unplugging and replugging the headphone jack in and out, and the Rep at the store tired spraying compressed air into the ports and is it still stuck in Docking Station Mode with NO external audio.
