I just bought my mom a new E72. One thing that has us stumped is how to insert a phone number from your contacts into the body of an SMS. Pretty much every phone I have ever used has an option to "insert contact" so that you can select a number from your addressbook and insert it into the body of the SMS. I have been unable to find this option in the E72. The only way I have managed to do it is in a very round about manner involving multitasking, going and opening the contact book, then finding the number, copying it, and then pasting it back in the text of the SMS. Is this the only way to do what I want or am I missing something obvious? I can't believe that such a basic functionality would have been left out of a "smart" phone ?
Just noticed that my new Nokia E7-00 has automatic locking function. When phone is idle for 60mins it will ask you to input unlocking code.
I don't like this, so I to Menu - settings - phone - phone management -security setting - phone and SIM card . There is a setting for delay for automatic locking. It is 60mins. But when I try to go and select that locking is not used, I get a message saying that you can't disable this function.
Okay, the night between the 29th and 30th of October meant adjusting for day light saving. Before I went to bed, I set the clock back one hour and made sure that the phone had all automatic time changes OFF since I've had problems before with this (only with Nokia, worth mentioning). On the morning of the 30th, my collegue calls me and wonders if I am at work. Turns out the stupid phone set the time back one hour as well without informing that such a thing would happen! I was one hour late for work and it was all because of the phone! Why did it not say that automatic time changes was planned to occur? And why did it change it even though all automatic changes was turned off?
Since updating to 410.21.010, my E71 occasionally shows a "Insert SIM card" message. This is rather odd, as it's not feasible to do so (the battery blocks the slot), and the SIM hasn't had any trouble before. Worse still, when this occurs the phone becomes entirely useless - not only can I not access running apps (and the model doesn't require a SIM for that), I can't even turn it off!Upon removal of the battery to forcibly restart the phone, it starts just fine, SIM and all - so the card isn't poorly seated or anything like that.
I have an E71, and about once a day I get this message saying "insert SIM card." This hasnt happened ever not until just maybe a week or 2 ago. It happens almost daily and I have to restart the phone.
I can't find how to insert an "underscore" into any text on my new Nokia E63. As my e-mail address contains one it is impossible for me to access my e-mails.
I just installed an application for changing fonts in E71. After that I must restart my phone but after I restart, I can't turn on my phone. I've already removed the battery and memory card but it doesnt work. How can I turn on my phone again? TT
Frequently when trying to turn the phone off, the keyboard would become backlit, and then phone was "stuck". Pressing the power button just generated the normal "vibrate", but would not turn off or on. Battery had to be removed.I got fed-up, called Vodafone support, who decided to ship me a replacement phone. In the past 2 weeks that I have had the new phone, the same problem has occurred 5-6 times. My wife's E72 had similar problem, but without the keyboard light on.I have only one new "app" on my phone - "SmartConnect", and my wife has no apps on hers (other than pre-loaded).
My Sister bought a New Nokia E5. At First, We couldn't Delete the Access Points from the Uncategorised Folder. When we Reset the Device, It started Functioning properly, For a while. Now It Wont Turn On. We Tried all The Resets, nothing works.
I have just got E52 and I am wondering: is it possible to turn its display off completely when it is in idle mode? The light is off, but the screensaver (strip with clock) is still running up and down the display... I guess this consumes quite a bit of energy...
Done a few of these now on my E72 so thought it would be plain sailing. Wrong. The process obviously froze, I gave it plenty of time. The screen said if necessary remove battery etc and reconnect USB lead which is what I did.The phone is now dead other than vibrating as you turn it on. I've tried a hard reset by holding shift, space and backspace while powering up but nothing (other than the vibrate).
Okay, Well i wasat a friends and she wanted to call her boyfriend... she kinda wanted to prank call him so she turned my phone on priver... I only just got the e63 and not really good on using it.. i want watching wat she was doing when she turned it on.
I have a Nokia E5. I want to know how to turn off usb charging on my phone cause everytime my phone is connected to the pc for long hours it gets over charged.
When writing a text, sometimes I accidentally press some random keys on the keyboard and suddenly the sms is send. I manually tried to find these keys but couldn't. Is there any advice on how I can turn the shortcut off? it can be really annoying sometimes.
The Nokia tech spec sheet clearly states that there is full screen handwriting recognition on the E7-00. How can this be turned on and used? I am used to an old N97 where this could be done easily with fingers, fobs etc ... no standard implement I try appears to be detected by the E7. Is there a special stylus required to input handwriting on the E7-00? If so as nothing listed under E7-00 accessories.
I'm using E72 and I have this kind of problem. How to turn on or off for internet connection in E72? I'm also using Iphone 3GS and it has a turn on/off button for cellular data. Does E72 has this kind of button?
Ever since I installed Whatsapp on my E72, the WiFi icon won't turn off. I've tried uninstalling Whatsapp to no avail. I've also installed NetQin to use it to manage resident apps. I've disable all non-core apps and the icon still appears.
He wants to view BBC iPlayer but can't connect directly because he doesn't have a UK IP address. He can use a proxy server but this has it's hazards and dangers.I would like to turn my phone into a proxy so he can connect to my phone over the internet and I can connect to iPlayer on his behalf so he can stream content to his PC.
This mobile phone is really suitable only for a garbage tray, it is always freezing and hungiing on, I always need to remove the battery cause the power button doesn't work, and it has really a LOT of bugs, but lets go to the point.
I was recently trying to update the firmware/software of the phone using a the USB cable provided by Nokia (which has a bad electrical contact) and sudenly the connection was lost. I did all the steps recomended by the software updater but now the Nokia E52 simply doesn't even turn on!
It's not possible any hard reset, because the phone doesn't even turn on! I already removed the battery and put it again as nokia tech team is always suggesting people to do..
Yesterday I turned off my Nokia e63 device. When I tried to turn it back on I held down the power button until it vibrated as normal, the centre light came on as normal however the screen stays black and it won't turn on. I've tried recharging it thinking it could possibly be a dead battery but that hasn't worked I've also tried to plug it into my computer and that hasn't worked. I've also removed the battery several times as well as the sim card but nothing seems to work.
Today my e63 phone died while I was using the internet so I plugged it into my charger, all that happened was the light behind the navigation button lit up and then turned off, usually my phone will just go into the charging screen and I then turn it back on. I tried with multiple chargers and there was no difference.I then tried to turn it on and all that comes up is a white screen. I took out the sim card and memory card but there is no difference apart from the fact that when I turned it on after taking out the memory card the screen was black with white lines then went completely white.
How can I turn off the keyboard lock function? If I don't want it to auto lock after 5 mins but stay active, can I turn the auto lock off completely? I've checked Control Panel - Settings - General - Security - Phone and SIM Card and there appears to the the option, but when you try and select 'off' it doesn't allow you to turn it off...
How does one turn off the camera flash permanently in E6? The turn off option seems to be only temporary: I start the camera application, turn off the flash; but after I exit the application and start it again, the flash is turned on again. How do I make the off state the default one?
