IPhone :: Turn The Phone Off But Leave WiFi On?
So as well all know, AT&T uses a ridiculous set of cellular frequencies that not only produces a lower signal (compared to Verizon,) but also puts a lovey "DA DA, DA DA, DAT DAT DAT DAAAA!!!!" sound in my speakers! (GSM interference) I've tried the tricks with the little things you put on your speaker cables to catch the stray RF noise but they did not help and I am SICK of this stupid sound that gets transmitted into every set of speakers I have. The only way to fix this is to shut off the cellular network by putting the iPhone into airplane mode. Then, I can play music from my iPod and not have the stupid interference playing as well. The only problem is, now I can't stream online music like Pandora, etc because Airplane mode shuts off my WiFi? So is there any way I can shut off the phone, but leave on the WiFi?

IPhone :: How To Leave Music On Phone / Without Syncing With ITunes On Mac
On the iPhone I have some iPod music, but I hardly use it. When I sync the iPhone with the Mac, I'd rather just leave the music on the iPhone "alone" and only sync the iPhone Apps. But when I un-check the Sync Music box (in iTunes>Devices>iPhone>Music tab) I am getting a message that if I do not sync the music, the tunes on the iPhone will be deleted. How do I leave the music on the iPhone, WITHOUT syncing it with iTunes on the Mac (while syncing Apps, and perhaps photos)? Any suggestions there? Information: MacBook and PowerBook G4, and MacMini for mother-in-law Mac OS X (10.5.2) iPhone 3G

BB 8830 WE :: International Usage - How To Disabling Phone Function And Leave Data Running So It Only Works On BB Service?
I'm hoping there's somebody out there with personal experience regarding this question. I have the 8830WE from Alltel (CDMA). I travel a lot, specifically on cruise ships. I was told that my Blackberry should still push my emails thru when I'm out to sea but what Alltel couldn't tell me for sure is if I would be billed additionally for that. Most ships now have "Cellular At Sea" service so you can still make and receive calls at about $2.50 per minute. What I'm wondering is if my BB can't connect to it's own service if it will automatically try and use the phone service of the ship? If this is the case, is there a way of disabling the phone function but leave the data running so it only works on BB service? Secondly, has anybody confirmed that they get their mail thru BB while traveling overseas? I realize it doesn't work in all countries but wondering about the major European countries or any place that you've maybe used it. I'm totally clueless about how the SIM card thing is going to work. When I got the phone Friday the rep at Alltel said I had to use only their SIM from their international provider or my BB service wouldn't work. I checked and their rates are very high. I already have an international SIM card where I get free incoming calls and the outgoing rates are reasonable, most around $1 a minute. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

IPhone :: How Long Do I Leave It?
Almost 3 hours ago I started the process of upgrading my unlocked 1.1.2 iPhone to 1.1.3 using the official soft upgrade. I wasn't expecting it to be quick (the iClarified tutorial says ~20 minutes) but I'm starting to worry. Does it really take this long? Is there anything I can do that won't result in a bricked iPhone? It's been at the stage of "Updating and Jailbreaking to 1.1.3" for pretty much the whole time.

IPhone :: Would You Leave Unlocked 2G For ATT 3Gs?
I really like the service I have with TMobile on my 2G iphone. I have tzones still at $5.99 and everything works great on it. Plus I pay half of what a typical ATT iphone user does and w/o a contract. However, the new 3Gs with the speed increase and other *hardware* features are really tempting. Are you going to jump from T-Mobile to ATT for the new iphone?

IPhone :: Is Bad Idea To Leave In Charger While Using?
is it a bad idea to leave my iPhone in my charger while using it? I like to use it while at my desk through the day to listen to music, check mail, etc, which of course drains the battery. So I'm wondering if it's a bad idea to plug it into the wall-charger while using it. Would this hurt the battery over time? Does this bypass the battery once it's fully charged

IPhone :: 3GS - Apple And AT&T Leave With No Option
I am in the military, and I recently got orders to the UK, and I have asked Apple and AT&T if I could get an unlock code for me and wife's 3GS. I even offered to fax in a copy of my orders and still AT&T will not help. Apple says AT&T is the only one who can issue an unlock code, and I really don't want to have to purchase two new iPhones in England, seeing as how I am not canceling my AT&T contract. I doesnt seem right to me. Does anyone know how I can get them to help me out? I am not trying to do anything Apple doesnt condone, but Apple and AT&T are leaving me with no option.

IPhone :: When Sell 3GS - Do Need To Leave The Old Sim Card In It
I'm sure I read somewhere about selling an iPhone, and having to sell it with the sim card that has always been used with it. I can't remember the reason for this, but I wondered if this is true? The reason I ask is. When the iPhone 4 comes out, I will be getting one. I know the iPhone 4 will use the micro sim card, so I won't have any use for the sim card that is presently installed in my 3GS. So do I need to leave the sim card in the 3GS, for when I sell the 3GS on to the new user? Information: Windows Vista iPhone 3GS 16 GB

IPhone :: Wanted To Leave IP Sealed
I wanted to add a line to my plan to give a phone to my mom so we can talk on my shared minutes (she's on verizon and we talk a lot so this seemed to make sense).i have old phones that she could throw a sim card into and run, and be perfectly happy. so i used the reduced cost to buy an iphone and turn around and sell and make up some of the cost of having her added to my plan. I wanted to leave the iphone sealed, if possible, so that the buyer could get the cleanest purchase assurance. i thought i could just walk into the att store and pick up another sim card and activate that sim on the phone for my mom and no need to worry about the sim in the box with the iphone. This guy at the store would not give me one, and said that no changes can be made on that sim for 30 days, in an effort to prevent people from signing up a new line just to sell an IPHONE.It's my iphone, i don't see why i can't do whatever i want with it?.frustrating, and try as ATT might, they can't prevent people from doing whatever they want...they got their 2 year contract, and i paid for the phone..i would bet i can find an old sim i never used here and i imagine i can activate that over the phone.but does it matter if i leave that old sim in the box?is Apple and ATT gonna get the posse together and hunt me down for violating their wishes?
